I believe your question is kinda mute- every girl has her version of a “good” boy the type she wants to marry- the real question is does this boy exist? Is it possible? Or do you have to give and take a little- most ppl have to give and take a little- so when you ask where are the good boys- who or what type are you refering to? And like many stated above- no one is perfect except Him- perfect does not exist- but don’t go out their thinking “I’m settling” because then you’ll always think there is someone better

I’m not sure- and I’m not one of those people who can quote meforshim and gemorahs proving their point- but I can tell you what I was taught- (mesorah! the strongest form of proof….)I remember learning that it’s not one or the other- it’s an amazing combination that we can not begin to comprehend. They work together relying on each other- In addition- no one knows what is happening up there…… we can only imagine…. and even our imagination can’t begin to understand it. mdd, Ir, and chuckie- if I remember my historia correctly I believe that there was another reason that dated a little further back to when times in syria were really good for the jews and people began “converting” just to be a “jew” by name- they therefore decided- it wasn’t anything major or strictly enforced- that converts should not be accepted- because the reason for their conversion may not be correct. and yes it also has to do with when they can to america- then it became more of a takanah and minhag that was held almost throughout the syrian community.- I learned this in high school- and the topic came up again in seminary once or twice in class- and I’m pretty sure this is what my teacher said- but I might be wrong

nechomah- actually no- most filters do not allow it- as it falls under the category of blog!- one would have to allow it manually-

chulent- its not letzanus! its the truth! people should watch what they say and type! end of discussion! I’m sure Feif was just showing that we have a lot of other issue that need to be discussed first- if everyone would be working on their tznuis and shmiras ha lashon I think we wouldnt have much of an internet issue at all because everyone would choose on their OWN to filter etc. so by fixing the first 2 the asifa would have been pointless- (not saying that it was!) when you have a leak do you just patch up the ceiling or do you go find the root of the leak and fix it? the asifa was just a patch up- we now have to find our root!
his kids are not responsible for his thought or actions, therefore you can not penalize his kids by not allowing them into yeshiva- nor should you let your children know, because then it will get around school and these poor kids will be mocked, ridiculed, and ostracized. and don’t say that doing so will cause him to seek help etc. because someone as messed up as to attempt murder or even entertain the thought has some real issues- and doesn’t think of others. but i would advise that you try and distance yourself from that person and confide in a well respected rav about this issue.

Plain and simple- if you type in gmail.com you go straight to a log in page- you log in and u have your email- and there are no picture ads- yahoo on the other hand- you typ in yahho.com and you get the main page- which you can then press log in and even when you are in your own email there are * picture * ads and on the main page it is all the current “news”- about wats wat- and im not neccesarly talking about ok news eiter- hope you get my point- basically- out of all emails gmail is the most “kosher”
is smoking mutar?- is shortening your own life span mutar? cutting your life short? i won’t go as far as saying that it falls under committing suicide- for which there is no olam haba- but i will say that its pretty stupid to smoke- you know you are killing yourself- you are choosing to!!! how does your wife/ husband/ child/ parent feel about that? you are choosing to control your own death- unfortunately very few people who smoke don’t end up developing problems
