Certainly, any yid in such a situation is in need of and deserves our tefillos. Yet, it is perfectly normal to feel a stronger connection to, and daven even harder for, someone who is available at the most inconvenient times to help save lives.

I didn’t say popa was a tzaddik (at least not on this thread), but that was a bad example, not because the poster deserved an insult, but because the situation demanded a strong response, not some pc-high-self-esteem-inducing-back-handed-compliment. As I recall, although popa (admittedly) certainly has been “over the top”, that was the most negative comment I’ve ever seen him make, so not only was it a bad example, it was an unfair one.

You’re totally misapplying the concept. You can’t do something to someone else which is hurtful to her, just because it’s not hurtful to you.
Also, your mistake is being pointed out to you, yet you don’t seem to taking advantage of the opportunity to improve yourself.
Really, I don’t think you’re trying to be rude and hurtful, but can’t you accept it, when a number of posters have pointed it out to you?

Rabbi-dr and Syag, I will defend popa on that. He was only putting down that poster’s knowledge because that poster was taking a very non-traditional approach to halacha, which included disregarding the opinion of, in a demeaning manner, one of our great poskim (the Rema). This was not over some silly grammatical minutiae.
Even if one were to defend that poster’s approach (which I don’t), he would have to admit that the motivations were quite different.
If you want to call popa a hypocrite, you’ll have to find a different example.

You write that there’s a difference between a few mistakes and something unreadable. Yet, you’ve corrected very readable posts, based on minute grammatical errors such as who vs. whom.
If you really have a hard time reading a post, there’s nothing wrong with politely asking for a rewrite, but believe me, HKB’H cares more about insulting someone than about grammar and spelling.

I read the article, and I’m not sure the author is really saying what’s being ascribed to him. He is rejecting the notion that if there are no “fireworks” after three dates, the shidduch is doomed to failure. He is not rejecting the notion that there needs to be attraction, nor that there needs to be some degree of “ahavah”, although he is claiming that the ultimate ahavah can only be achieved after marriage.
He writes, “Rather those in Shidduchim should focus on getting to know the other person and his/her middos and try to give to the other person in a permissible way.”; obviously, he wants the ahavah to begin to develop even during the dating process.
