CS, אני מאמין באמונה שלמה בביאת המשיח…
…but, do you realize how little sense you make?
Moshiach must be coming soon because the world is getting so much better, and Moshiach must be coming soon because the world is getting so much worse?
June 27, 2018 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548408☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantRav Yosef does have the right to poskin for Sephardim and he has the right to Poskin who is a Sephardic Jew
But the Eidah has no obligation whatsoever to follow that psak.
June 27, 2018 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548384☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWe do not rank Gadols
Of course we do.
June 27, 2018 4:43 pm at 4:43 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548353☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantRav Moshe explicitly accused those who reject the Ethiopians of racism.
Did you actually read the link you posted? He is explicitly talking about after giyur, which he requires.
June 27, 2018 4:42 pm at 4:42 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548304☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThere’s nobody in the Eidah that’s as big a gadol as Rav Ovadia zt”l.
Totally irrelevant. There are bigger gedolim than R’ Ovadia who were machmir.
June 27, 2018 4:42 pm at 4:42 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548280☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNeville, I have news for you. According to some opinions much of our wine can be touched by non-Jews as pasteurization counts as cooking.
After pasteurization, not before.
June 27, 2018 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548263☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe aidah is the most corrupt hech$$her organisation. Just ask some “ehrlich people in the hechsher business.
That’s just stam irrelevant motzi shem ra.
June 27, 2018 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548237☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHowever Rav Ovadia Yosef ruled differently, He rules they were 100% jewish
What does that have to do with the Eidah giving their hechsher???
June 27, 2018 4:32 pm at 4:32 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548231☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantStam yaynam is a rabbinic prohibition and thus we are lenient with a doubt.
That does not mean you should give a hechsher.
June 27, 2018 4:31 pm at 4:31 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1548225☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAccording to YWN, the Ethiopians who were removed were Shomer Shabbos
It doesn’t matter if they keep Shabbos if they’re not Jewish…
June 27, 2018 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1547428☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantFrom the YWN article linked by ZD:
“Three employees were reassigned in the factory to avoid insulting any one employee personally.”
Basically, they can’t keep their standard of kashrus without the haters complaining.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantFrom the US DOT -“In 2015, the use of seat belts in passenger vehicles saved
an estimated 13,941 lives of occupants 5 and older, etc.”Yeah, but some people were worse off because of seatbelts.
June 26, 2018 9:15 pm at 9:15 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1547067☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant(And it could be they all were Halachically jewish..It wasnt clear)
I can’t believe you’re blaming them for not giving a hechsher on wine which lacks clarity as to its kashrus.
June 26, 2018 9:12 pm at 9:12 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1547064☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAsked? What if they would have said no?
June 26, 2018 9:03 pm at 9:03 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1547058☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHowever some of the people involved already had one and were Halachically jewish
You can’t give a hechsher if only only some of the people who have access to the wine are Jewish.
June 26, 2018 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm in reply to: Can following a Chumra become a Chilul Hashem #1547050☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantPlease define chilul Hashem. How it gets defined will help in this discussion.
You nailed it.
Unfortunately, I think most people end up defining chillul Hashem as whatever embarrasses them.
It may or may not coincide with actual chillul Hashem.
June 26, 2018 12:55 am at 12:55 am in reply to: Amudim: Abuse often occurs within your home . #1546373☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI have no opinion on the matter, but I will say that not naming a rov certainly doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
I wouldn’t want to name a specific posek (of course, except when something has been published) for a couple of reasons even if I heard something directly from him.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo according to your logic ,if stores now decide to charge 4 bags for a penny then the government can no longer add thier 5 cent fee because i paid for the bags??
No.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThis whole plastic bax tax makes zero sense legally speaking.
Don’t think of it as a sales tax, which is a percentage, so that indeed would not be applicable to free items.
Rather, it’s a fee on giving out free bags. Why is that illegal?
Some states and municipalities have already banned or put a fee on bags, and I don’t know of any that were deemed unconstitutional.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI wonder if thats a legal loophole
I doubt it. Why would it be?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo call it a tax, a fee, who cares?
As long as it’s not a sales tax, it shouldn’t run into tttt’s legal problem.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantEstablished and proven how, because you posted it there under a different name?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantOh, the irony of Joseph lecturing someone about using two screen names.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCertain name brand medications seem to work better for me than generic.
I could never tell the difference in sugar.
Pepsi is sweeter than Coke, which is why it wins taste tests, but that doesn’t mean it tastes better.
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMaskim
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYou’re correct that the רמ”א says there are places which don’t eat butter from חלב עכו”ם, but you are totally misrepresenting the מחבר.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI don’t think I misread it.
It’s a clear דין in שו”ע. I brought the רמ”א because each are was different, but it’s brought in several אחרונים.
June 18, 2018 9:02 pm at 9:02 pm in reply to: Is preparing all girls for marriage contributing to the Shidduch Crisis? #1541880☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantJune 18, 2018 8:57 pm at 8:57 pm in reply to: Is preparing all girls for marriage contributing to the Shidduch Crisis? #1541877☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe shidduch crisis exists BECAUSE the frum population is growing. How do people still not get this?
That depends how you define the shidduch crisis.
If you define it as not enough shidduchim taking place for the population to increase, then he’s got a good proof.
June 18, 2018 6:59 pm at 6:59 pm in reply to: Is preparing all girls for marriage contributing to the Shidduch Crisis? #1541857☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf there is a Shidduch crisis, why is the frum population growing?
Because the people who are getting married are having lots of kids.
BTW, from where did you get your statistics that the frum population is growing?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThat’s what’s sold today.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDaas. Which רמ׳׳א?
יו”ד קט”ו ג
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDaas Yochid. Pure butter is not a machlokes. its straight up mutter.
See רמ”א that in some places they didn’t eat it.
But one must make sure that it is pure butter and nothing was added.
Most commercial butter has additives.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDaasYochid. According to Halacha butter does not need to be CY
Pure butter is a machlokes. Nowadays, they use starter distillate, so it might be a problem according to all opinions.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhat ever happened with the foldable hats? Has anyone tried them?
Most hats are foldable.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWas it CY?
Also, more importantly, how’s the Mrs.?
June 18, 2018 9:26 am at 9:26 am in reply to: Is preparing all girls for marriage contributing to the Shidduch Crisis? #1541422☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt’s funny, the working bochurim claim that even though they’re kovea itim, daven with a minyan, don’t watch movies, etc., they don’t get redt shidduchim.
Meanwhile, the girls looking for working boys whio are kovea itim, daven with a minyan, don’t watch movies, etc., claim they can’t find any.
🤔
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe ones I saw are not boneless.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIm pretty sure that those are imported from mexico or uraguay.
That’s what Moisha’s and KRM sell for that price. Please tell me where you can get American beef ribsteaks for $12 per lb.
Flyers are only for sale items. The discussion non sale items.
I wasn’t looking at the flyer. I was looking at their site from which you can order sale items and non sale items for delivery.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe connection between hats and cream cheese?
They both can’t be eaten together with ribsteaks or flanken.
(BTW, T⁴, Gourmet Glatt in Lakewood sells flanken for $11.99 per lb, and they happen to be advertising ribsteaks this week for $10.99).
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSeasons and Gourmet Glatt did open in Lakewood. NPGS is still consideed the most affordable
I think all of them have websites. You can check prices yourself.
I’m not sure why you keep posting inflated prices.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantRib steaks are $11.69 per lb. in NPGS.
I posted cream cheese prices.
Flanken ends are less than $4.
I didn’t see regular flanken or “hard cheese” on NPGS’ site.
June 17, 2018 7:24 pm at 7:24 pm in reply to: Is preparing all girls for marriage contributing to the Shidduch Crisis? #1541158☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you accept #1 as being correct (it is), the rest becomes moot.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThere are more than two supermarkets in Lakewood.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantGas in the mid ninties in chicago was 1.10. now its around $3. And yes cholov yisroel cream cheese is around $4-$5 heres. and no im not rich, theres nothing else available.
I have no idea what CY cream cheese sells for in Chicago. I was talking about Lakewood, NJ.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantGivat cream cheese is on sale now in Gourmet Glatt for $2.99.
Hatov and Fresh & Healthy are $3.19 in NGPS.
Seasons has F&H on sale for $2.49.
