What about all the heimish papers that they know most of the readership will read on shabbos but shouldn’t read advertisements or business strategies on Shabbos.
lakewhutParticipantOften the parents corrupt enough. A curious enough kid will go to the library.
lakewhutParticipantLet’s not make it that VH5T is the gold standard and RCBC is treif.
lakewhutParticipantIt’s growing in popularity because the old school kvetch isn’t connecting to some people. You need to ask why the old school litvish style davening isn’t inspiring people as it used to.
lakewhutParticipantWhat’s middle of the road, hiring trabs health secretaries abs giving the taliban all our weapons?
August 29, 2022 10:47 am at 10:47 am in reply to: School District Bringing Back Spanking Unruly Students. what are your thoughts #2119434lakewhutParticipantIt’s not the way today
lakewhutParticipantAAQ FDU and Post take some yeshiva credits for an accelerated degree.
lakewhutParticipantiamhappy while it’s possible to get into corporate America with a btl the likelihood that you’ll get an interview let alone the job without connections snd prior relevant work experience is not high. It is possible to get into a good firm with a btl, if you happen to want to go into law.
lakewhutParticipantdovrosenbaum
Without AARTS the degree isn’t recognized as an undergraduate degree.lakewhutParticipantAvirah I know psychology is a relatively new field in medicine but you’re out of your element in this topic and should stop talking. Would you go to R Malkiel Kotler to get surgery?
lakewhutParticipantIs it 讬讜讛专讗 for a Litvack to start wearing a gartel when litvish gedolim don’t hold its needed?
lakewhutParticipantIt doesn’t bother me I was asking if it’s proper.
lakewhutParticipantUJM there are people who were born litvish who decide to start to wear bekishes today. Meaning their parents are but now they connect with chasidus. Take a walk in Israel 3 LA and you’ll see people with American out of town accents like that.
lakewhutParticipantAnd only the litvish roshei yeshivas wear kapotas today. Though most lubavitch chasidim do.
lakewhutParticipantUJM I just gave you a name and I know who his family is better than you. Nonetheless I backed it up. Legally a university has to make such accommodations. If an LGBT person came out with a suit against a lakewood yeshiva they would get into trouble.
lakewhutParticipantIf you’re on the level that you can keep yourself inspired and focused on the day without them and not batul or ch”v watch things that are inappropriate for the day, then kol hakavod. Otherwise please share your thoughts with various gedolim who give divrei chizuk on this day to livestream audiences throughout the world and see what they have to say. Putting down others for observing tisha bav in this way isn’t bringing us closer to moshiach.
lakewhutParticipantOn one hand, it isn’t so bderech tznius. On the other, it can give a bas yisroel a positive influence on YouTube. Would you rather a Jewish girl watch a video of a goyish singer on YouTube or her to watch a video of a Jewish female singer that can bring her inspiration? We’re not in the vilna ghetto anymore.
lakewhutParticipantUJM democrats lead the congressional ballot on nearly every poll
lakewhutParticipantHow do you learn that it’s from immoral activity?
lakewhutParticipantAAQ there are exceptions to everything but for the most part taking someone out of a torah environment at age 20 to just work is not a great idea.
lakewhutParticipantAAQ yes but to be able to learn all day without interruptions, the ceiling higher for potential. Take the 20 year old out of yeshiva is a risk that he falls into a bad crowd of other 20 year olds not learning.
lakewhutParticipantI think it depends how old he is, what he’s doing for work, and where the person is holding. Between the ages 19-23, it’s to focus on growing in learning. Once a person leaves yeshiva full time, the learning is not the same. There’s something about being in the 讚 讻讜转诇讜转 of a yeshiva where the bren of Torah is felt throughout the day. Unfortunately it happens too often that a bachur leaves yeshiva holding in a decent place, and then once he leaves to go to work, he falls into a bad crowd and his ruchniyus levels go down. There’s no better “system” to be in than a yeshiva for a young bochur. It’s better for someone to be working than doing nothing. It happens to be that usually that when someone thinks the “yeshiva system” isn’t for him, it’s self-diagnosed. There are different types of yeshivas for different types of people.
lakewhutParticipantReading from a book is better than digital. Easier on the eyes and doesn’t need to recharge
lakewhutParticipantWar
lakewhutParticipantBecause like many other topics there’s more than one issue at hand. In a lot of cases these shooters have been tipped off to the FBI and police and not much was done to stop them. There’s a mental health issue not addressed. It isn’t only a gun issue. Chicago has all kinds of gun control laws and police and it doesn’t do enough to address the problem. There aren’t many mass shootings in Alabama.
lakewhutParticipantWhat some called neo chasidus is dancing and singing at a kumzits with food and alcohol while learning a bit of kabalah and not really understanding it. Chasidus isn’t something you just become; it’s a level that most people don’t reach.
lakewhutParticipantNeo chasidus is ncsy but with beards and peyos
lakewhutParticipantYou can make guidelines for people instead of burying your head in the sand. And almost every yeshiva benefits from the Internet in terms of fundraising. I never suggested that it’s hefker and that there isn’t a bad side to it, but the reality is that it has become a big part of the world. How many shidduchim today are redt through whatsapp and other platforms. And I don’t buy the attitude of they didn’t have it in the olden days and people were happy. No not everyone was.
lakewhutParticipantHaleivi,
I’m not ignoring that there are dangers but it’s easier to say treif and ban it than to look into the possibilities of how it can be of benefit to us. I have a filter as per daas torah but it doesn’t mean I say it’s all bad. Waze wasn’t a benefit to everyone? Can we live without these things? Yes. But there are a lot of benefits that have fron it that have improved our lives.
lakewhutParticipantAvirah,
That means it takes hate wisdom to be matir than to make assur. Almost every yeshiva has a rayze campaign. 2012 only accomplished appealing to an audience who weren’t really using the Internet anyway. There could have been positivity about the possibilities of tzedakah and tourah sources as are the ways internet is used by many baal habatim even in lakewood Williamsburg and in Israel today. But the point is that other types of Jews are using the technology and are looking to be on the right side of history. What happens in a yeshiva isn’t nevessarily applied to what happens in the general world.
June 10, 2022 12:50 pm at 12:50 pm in reply to: Husband of House Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi Gets Away with a DUI Offense #2095377lakewhutParticipantWell we know he won’t get any time. Why hasn’t he been indicted on charges of insider trading? If he was a republican Biden would have the fbi looking at every step of his. You know how this works.
lakewhutParticipantBecause democrats never let a tragedy go to waste
lakewhutParticipantSir Aya what gives chasidim the right to make these svarahs?
lakewhutParticipantReb Eliezer. How do you say the mishnayos parts. What if you don’t know what the words mean?
lakewhutParticipantThe buck is on the democrats. They are In power and responsible to fix it jackk. You wouldn’t know it by reading about all the Roe vs Wade freakout and aid to Ukraine. The democrats are failing on every front and don’t make anything better. FDA is working too slowly. More democrat red tape. They could drill foot more us oil but no we need to save trees first.
lakewhutParticipantAAQ yes the truth is there are very few real litvish jews in America today. The chasidish influence has reached the yeshiva system as well.
lakewhutParticipantThe democrats like to make the exception to the rule and apply it as the rule in almost every case
lakewhutParticipantNo but a shidduch does involve going out of your comfort zone and doing hishtadlus.
lakewhutParticipantUJM that is a gmach. That’s something else.
lakewhutParticipantRE nah sometimes people go too far about it.
lakewhutParticipantGH doubtful. It’s a deep state hack. It’s someone from the white house. Otherwise we’d know the leaker. The dems are his whomever leaked it.
lakewhutParticipantLet’s see you use that energy for when a SC Justice rules the way the dems like. Imagine if someone did that to RBG or in the future to Ketanji Jackson and planned to harass her at her house. They’d cry racism and sexism all day.
lakewhutParticipantUJM go join a lev tahor cult
lakewhutParticipantBA it’s called questioning
lakewhutParticipantCTL lives in his ivory tower compound in CT… is out of touch with reality
lakewhutParticipantCTL they haven’t called for it yet because it isn’t politically viable now but they are doing everything they can to get there. Get a clue.
lakewhutParticipantCTL. I just proved to you. Stop being a doctor establishment sheep. The department of homeland security isn’t doing anything to stop the hordes of illegals coming in but he’s concerned about tweets. Now that Twitter isn’t doing what they want to crack down on things that don’t like to hear they are taking the matter into their own hands… Soviet style. This is a ministry of truth.
April 28, 2022 6:27 pm at 6:27 pm in reply to: Chazzanim prevented from reciting ‘E-l Male Rachamin’ on Holocaust Day #2080842lakewhutParticipantujm that’s sensitive to families of Holocaust victims. What else do they teach to in your shtetl cult?
lakewhutParticipantNotice how the dems just engage in whatsboutism. Everyone knows these views aren’t normal and supported by top dems across the country.
lakewhutParticipantJackk the communist doesn’t like someone who’s ahead pf him. This is a win for free speech and dems hate the idea of free speech.
