health, government is there to provide help as a springboard to ones losing their jobs because of health or economic conditions as charity is a temporary help. Neither of them encourages to stop looking for work as mentioned above. Sometimes people need retraining as their jobs were lost forever. I took unemployment benefits but never welfare.

health, giving charity is an incentive not the work and let others give. You are as uncaring as Trump.
Why come to this world and earn your reward? In order not to get bread of shame.

Tosfas on 13,1 questions the accuracy of PI the ratiio between the circumderence and the diameter of a circle.
The Rambam on the mishnah 13,2 which uses the integral value of 3 based on the yam shel shlomo whose diameter was ten amos and ciircumference 30 says that since the value is not known exactly, so any value would not be correct, therefore 3 is taken as a rounded integral value. We use 22/7 or 3 1/7 to approximate it as the Ralbag there in Melachim 7,23. The GRA uses the pasuk to approximate its value by using the written וקוה and the read וקו taking the value of the written excluding the connective vov which is 111 and multuplying by the integral value of 3 for an adjustment which is 333 and dividing by the read value 106, 333/106 = 3.141509 which is correct to 3 decimal places as the value is 3.1415926. Maybe, we can improve on this value by using the conective vov and adjusting the value a little. 117 x 3 = 351 add to tbis the number of letters in the word 4 making it 355 and add a kolel of 1 to the denominator of 112 so we get 355/113 which is 3.1415929 known by the chinese a long time ago as a good approximation correct to 4 decimal places of 3.1416. The denominator has no letters added as they are not all the letters written and numerator has no kolel as it is not read.

Why is ki yikorei written with an aleph rather than a heh, similarly in Parashas Vaychi asher yikro eschem beacharis hayomim? The question of the Chavas Yair 67 is, if he does not want the children, can he walk away?
There are three reasons for this mitzva: 1, to show mercy, 2, to protect the species (Chinuch), and 3, the Zohar, to symbolize the mother looking for its children (calling it achzoriyos above) which symbolizes the redemptiion. Axxording to the first two eeasons we should be able to walk a1ay but not the third. Sending away the mother and leaving the children is no mercy. Also the species are protected. To show hope for the redemptiion would still apply.
The means of bringing Meshiach requires speech. The Midrash says that emunah (krias shma), hishtachvoyo, tefila and learning misnayos will bring the redemption. This might be the implicatiion here of how to bring Meshiach.

The Rashba’s view iis that as we don’t make a bracha directly on krias shma, so we can say it by the zman and the brochos at davenen but the Rabbenu Aharon Halevi and the GRA say they are related and therefore krias shma must be said togerher with the brochos.

The zman of krias shma is an argument between the Magen Avraham and the GRA. First there is an argument in the length of the day. The Magen Avraham’s view is that the day starts from alos hashachar, dawn and ends at tzetz hakochovim, the coming out of the middle size stars. The GRA holds that the day starts at sunrise and ends at sunset. There is 72 min between dawn and sunrise. Also 72 min between sunset and tzetz hakochivim making the day according the Magen Avraham 12 hrs + 2 x 72 min or 12 hrs + 2 hrs + 24 min = 14 hrs and 24 min = 14.4 hrs. Divide 14.4 by 12 to find the shaos zmaniyos = 14.4/12 = 1.2. Zman of krias shma is 3 hours from alos hashachar 6 AM normal sunrise – 72 min = 6 – 1.2 = 4.8 + 3 x 1.2 = 4.8 + 3.6 = 8.4 which would be 8 + 2 x 12 min = 8 hr 24 min AM whereas according to the GRA is 6 AM + 3 hr 9 AM a difference of .6 or 36 min

The 6 1/2 hours comes from the sacrifice of the tamid which started at 12:30 PM called mincha gedaloh and sacrificed at 9 1/2 hours or 3:30 called called mincha ketana. According to the Rabenu Taam we we can daven mincha until his ben hashmoshos 58 1/2 min after the first shkiah when night starts.

    in reply to: Chassidim #1894805

The Rabbenu Taams’s view is that there are two shkios, one the normal sun set and 72 min after that is another shkiah when it is nigth. 13 1/2 min before the second shkiah or 58 1/2 min after the first shkiah is ben hashmoshos. There is the Geonim’s view that 13 1/2 min from the shkiah is night. The yereim’s view is earliest mostly followed Erev Shabbos that 18 min before is ben hashmoshas. Ben Hasahmoshos is 3/4 of a mil which is an argument in its measurement. Some hold 18 min, 22.5 or 24 min. The Geonim and Rabbenu Tam go by 18 min and the Yereim by 24 min. The GRA holds 22.5 min.

They emphasize to daven with proper preparation and clean body. Krias Shma is not related to the brochos as the Rashaba, so you can say krias shma without the brochos before. Mincha is davened until 6 and a half hours from the beginning of the day 6 AM normally around 12:30 and they hold that in the half hour from chatzos to Mincha one can still daven shacharis.

The GRA uses this to explain the gemora in Shabbos (12,2) where Rav Yishmoel ben Elisha went by mistake and read on shabbos by bending and increasing the candle light saying how great where the words of the chachomim who said not to read at candle light. The mishna does not give the reason of bending because if one knows the reason for the prohibition, he will rationalize as King Solomon, saying, that by me it does not apply. The Baal Akedah interprets the saying, thinking of an aveira is greater than an aveira, because one will try to find reasons for permission.

Trump down played the effect of the virus being afraid of the economic affect and did not show leadership to fight it, but he delegated it to the states. Rather than setting certain measurable guidelines to live up to opening the economy, he encouraged the states on their own discretiion as he is doing with the schools. This caused tbe increase of infections and cases causiing more death.
