What about marching in Berlin ON Shabbos

Does that make one a Rasha?

They also participated in a rally a few years ago in Washington DC ON SHABBOS

Who’da thunk that Esther was a moser and rasha!

Esther was forced into that position and its clear Chazal approved.

NK were not forced to meet with Ahmadinejad YMSH

If a Frum jew kept all Halachas met with Haman, He would still be a Moser and a Rasha.

Most people have enough clothes to survive 9 days without washing. However this doesnt mean one should deliberately go on the subway with soiled clothes and unshowered and create a tremoundus Chilul Hashem by doing so

I never said Rav Shlomo Auerbach permitted it. The aritcle also says the Chazon Ish was strict about prohibited it and I can see how Rav Shlomo would not want to really go against the Chazon Ish.

Many contemporary Poskim allow showers today including Rav Kaminetsky , Rav Wosner and Rav Ovadiah Yosef.

It is not a kiddish Hashem when you are riding the subway and you smell worse than the homeless bum who is sleeping there.

There are people who use Linkedin to sell you Spam serviced.

I find linkedin to be very useful in finding contacts. However I only accept connection if its either someone I know or someone in the same field as me.

Some people just seem to send out linkedin requests because Linkedin tells them to

I don’t know where you daven, but where I daven (quite a yeshivishe place), the person sans hat and jacket is welcome (although IMO he’s wrong for not conforming to minhag hamakom),

Sometimes for Shabbos i visit relatives from such communities and I dont even own a hat. It is quite clear from my appearence that I am not one of them. Nobody has ever said a word to me about not wearing a hat (Only a shul near my house had such a rule ) and many times they come up and say hello.

I dont think according to Halacha you can say all the children (Boys and girls) get an equal portion , I think this is assur even if you want it that way (Especially to avoid your heirs fighting over an estate…Not a pretty picture)

I know it has something to do with more equally diving an estate among all your children (Boys and Girls)

Modern Milking machines cannot milk any animals except cows. Its almost impossible to mix milks from differnet animals

So it very well might be that there is Donkey Cheese, but you have to get it very differently than cows milk cheese. The udder sizes are different and the pipes for the cows udders will not fit any other animal.

To get Donkey milk you would need to buy a milking machine that milks donkey udders.

I am no cheese expert and know very little about it, but I know there is a differnece between soft cheeses like Cottage Cheese or Ricotta vs hard cheeses like Swiss or Provolone.

Most commercial soft cheeses in NYC area are kosher no matter the brand (They usually have an o-u or some other Hashcha ) (Like Breakstone for example) but Swiss cheese must be a kosher brand

Any cheese or milk from animals other than a cow or a goat is very expensive and not worth it to use.

Nobody is going to mix $1000 a gallon milk with $5 gallon milk and charge you $5.

If you are so worried about this dont buy anything from Bayer (Aspirin) or BASF. Bayer, AGFA and Sonofi.

These companies are the daughter companies of IG Farben who made the Zyklon B , “Gift Gas” that was used in Auschwitz

I dont know anything about this event so what I am posting is just conjecture.

If it is some sort of summer Tzedakah event because there are only so many sundays in the summer its tough and its worse this year with 17 Tammaza and Tisha Bav being on a Sunday along with a Sunday during the 9 days. 3 Sundays are lost (Sundays are the best days for a fundraiser). There are other origanizations doing fundraisers too so needed funds might not get collected.

So they must have gotten like some sort of Heter like a Siyum or something to get permission for this fundraiser

I have no problem recommending visitng Jordan, I was just there recently and there was no problem. The Arabs just want to sell you something.

I even saw the mountain where Aaron is buried.

Alot of Gedolim have been in Jordan this year because of Smittah, they hold that Jordan is a Safek and will buy produce from Jordan.

And lastly it wasnt Jordan that gave me a problem crossing the border, it was Israel. The Israeli kept asking me about an Israeli Passport (I dont have one and never did and I was born in NYC so I didnt understand the question)

and BTW I have been to Egypt too and had no problems there either

I was in the area recently and I met a Frum man (He seemed Chassidic) from Monsey in Arad. I met him at the Tire shop and I helped him with hebrew as I spoke some and he did not.

After giving him help he told me he goes to the Dead Sea a few times a year for his Sciatica , So I am guessing there is. You probably would not want to go to Ein Bokek there are alot of Spas there.

You might also want to try the Jordanian side, there are beaches there too

Unfortunalty really the only place to go is Israel for 6 months or so, While there are things like Partners in Torah, none is as intensive as seminary in Israel.

If Israel is not an option, Id recommend you move to a more relgious community with more orthodox shuls (More than just Chabad houses). You best bets would be NYC or South Florida in the US, but if those arent possible they are in most major US cities. Check the OU website for a list of synangouges

YU does not fund LGBT clubs, they are there on their own.

YU is legally non-sectarian so they can get money from the state. They are not allowed to discriminate. So a Non-jew can apply to YU and they would be forced to take them. Yeshivas do not take the same money as YU does so they are not required to follow the same laws

I would rather live in a place that allows such things, than a place that has a yearly pogrom or a place where every year on easter the Rabbi is required to bend over and get kicked in the rear by the local Priest (This was done in the Roman Ghetto to show the jews who was in charge)

Marriage is just not about 2 people living together, there are legal rights as well. The Superme court case that overthrew DOMA is a good example

The Windsor vs US case a few years ago in the supreme court was about this. 2 women “married” in Ontario in 2008. At the time New York did not allow such marriages but recognized them if done elsewhere. In 2009 Thea Spyder died leaving a decent sized estate. Surviving spouces are allowed to inherit their deceased spouces estates tax free, however since the federal government did not recognize this relationship even though NY did, Editih Windsor owed $360,000 in estate taxes that she would not have owed if she was married to a man.

You dont always know who your boss might be and it , you might find out later .

It isn’t against the law to tell a pervert that he is a pervert.

On the job it certainly is and it might be in the street as well as it might be considered harassment.

I dont know if the store incident is anti-torah or not, but thankfully the manager (he was frum) diffused the situation and it did not become a greater incident. It would not be a good situation if a bunch of people protested a frum store calling them bigots and it became a news story.

I once worked at a frum place

a customer walked in wearing a “pride” button and the frum salesperson asked about the button and the person said in the affirmative. The salesman then said yeech and walked away from the customer.

The customer then complained to the store manager.

I take my position because this is the law of the land, teaching people to be how evil they are may cost you, not them. If you think someone is an abomination when you meet one in a situation you may act as such either verbally or non-verbally and it will hurt you, not them

Politics is one thing, a better is when you come into personal contact

What if you boss was one, calling your boss an abomination likely wont get you a raise and might get your fired

What if one comes in for a job interview or wants to rent an apartment from you, Its against the law to discriminate

Or just what if a co-worker is one and you call them an abomnination (creating a hostile workforce)

You need to be pragmatic, In general its better to support a winning candidate than a losing candidate, If you support the losing candidate it can be hard to get what you want and need.

Would you support a candidate who supports this but is also a friend to the frum community or would you support someone who is against this marriage and does not support things the frum community might need

    Ben lavi

There are an enourmous amount of second marriages (or more) in the US. people in the 40’s and 50’s who are divorced with kids already. They do not want any more kids than they already have and they have to blend their families together.

It is not a rare exception, nor is it an exception in the frum community either, there are plenty of second marriages of people in their 40’s and 50’s

In todays climate going down to city hall and protest an abomination not only will not get you what you want, It will backfire and you will be called a hateful bigot and when you want something from city hall you will unlikley be able to get it.

Dont forget who the previous city council speaker was, The city council speaker is the second most powerful person in NYC and calling her an abonimation is not very smart

Also, many non-Jews aren’t faithful to their spouse. From what I’ve heard, adultery isn’t uncommon among non-Jews. Maybe there shouldn’t be marriage for them either? Yes, they have a different definition of marriage than we do
