I am just wondering how someone can have so much mazel:

all the matzah hidden on pesach?

    Waiter puts finger in soup?

treif meat falling into a pot that just happens to have 60 lbs of kosher chopped meat (how big of a pot)?

Reb. I still dont understand your point. Reb Moshe holds that a kli shlishi that is yad soledes is still not mevashel.

Did you stop and ask is it a kli shieini or kli shlishi? Probably had a ladle to pour the soup into the bowl so the bowl becomes a kli shlishi and Reb Moshe holds that a kli shlishi lo mevashel? And even according to those who hold kli shlishi is mevashel is that on everything or only on kalei habishul?

From R’ Moshe Dovid Lebovits Kashrus administrator of the OK and a talmid of Rabbi Belsky.

    Boiling three Eggs
People would have a separate egg pot or cook three eggs at a time so if one of them would have a blood spot, it would be butel b’rov and all the eggs would be permitted This is not necessary today, since the chance of finding a blood spot is very minimal since the eggs are not fertilized. Based on this, there is no reason to have a separate egg pot.

reb. Maybe you should actually ask your shailos to a rav. My rav told me specifgically that we boil 3 eggs together in case one has blood spot and the two others dont then the two others are kosher. Did you read what Reb Moshe wrote when it’s only two eggs….or you haven’t reached that shelf yet to clean.

    3. Based on “Yisroel kedoshim heim”, why are yidden only concerned to prevent a d’oraysa by doing 2:1 bittul, and not concerned about drobonon to do 60:1? (Alternativly, is there an inyan to be machmir to boil eggs inbatches of 60:1?) Never heard of such an inyan. But I have heard from numerous sources (grandmother as well as my personal Rov about boiling in batches of 3).

    From the Star-k dot org

The Mechaber states explicitly that roasted eggs may be eaten even though it is impossible to check them for blood spots, and the Ram”a explains that the rationale for this is based upon the right to rely on the majority of eggs that have no blood spots. The Ram”a notes, however, that the minhag is to check eggs during the daytime when it is possible – but clearly allows the use of unchecked eggs at night since the option of checking them is not available. Concern over blood spotted eggs today is further mitigated by the fact that the vast majority of eggs sold for food are derived from hens that have never been near a male in their lives. Hens are segregated in huge coops at times containing up to a million birds at a time – for the sole purpose of converting chicken feed into eggs. Such eggs are referred to in the Gemara as Safna Me’ar’ah, and the blood found in such eggs would never prohibit the entire egg. The Iggros Moshe, Yoreh De’ah: 36 discusses the status of blood spotted eggs in countries where such eggs predominate and notes that the Minhag is still to discard the entire egg. However, in cases where a blood spotted egg was cooked in a pot with another egg, there is no basis to be concerned with the status of the other egg or the pot (unless one is aware that it is definitely from a fertilized egg).

Lost I europe: First I remind my wife to clean for Pesach not spring cleaning. Second, a poseik in my community has stressed many leniencies in cleaning (so no, it’s not always the husbands that come home with chumros). Only rooms that you know had chametz brought into them need to be cleaned. If you never move your stove or refrigerator you dont have to move them to clean for pesach (as I heard from the poseik).

I have a ResMed airsense 10 and after discussing with a ROV it was determined that if the machine is turned off with a timer while it is “on” it will recover in the “on” mode when turned on with a timer so he allowed me to do so. And yes he realizes that certain things are being recorded while it is on but since I was hospitalized once when I didn’t use it he feels it is a pikuach nefesh issue.

Yabia Omer: This whole thread has to do with children hiding all the matza before Motzi Matza and the subsequent question specifically asked by the OP had to do with substituting egg matza for motzi matza. So when you made your comment it was in the context as a response to what I wrote above. As stated by Rabbi Eli Gersten (OU) in his article “Who can eat Egg Matzah” “According to the Shulchan Aruch, dough made from flour mixed with fruit juices or eggs will not become chametz no matter how long it stands, provided no water is added. Despite this ruling, Ashkenazic practice mandates that egg matzot may only be used by the elderly and the infirm…………..Although the allowance to eat egg matzah over Passover applies in the above-mentioned cases, one cannot fulfill the mitzvah of eating matzah on Seder night with egg matzah. The Torah refers to matzah as “lechem oni” poor man’s bread, because it is made solely from flour and water, the simplest of ingredients. Egg matzah is called “matzah ashirah,” rich man’s bread, for it contains more complex ingredients and is unacceptable for the mitzvah of matzah. ” And yes we realize the halacha for sephardim is different.

Harav Shimon Schwab did not like the use of the word steal when it came to the afikoman. he preferrred to say snatching the afikoman. The source of the minhag is that it was on Pesach night the Yaakov Avinu received the brochos. The Yitzchok tells Eisav “BAH ACHICHA B’MIRMA” and the word B’MIRMA has the same gematriah as afikoman.

Reb. The ArtScroll book Law of Brochos states that Raw onions are a shehakol. The fact that raw onions are put in a salad or even herring just makes it an ikor/tofel issue. How many people do you know who bites into a raw onion to eat it like an apple. As o your comment about a kezayis, I do not know of any shiur kezayis that states you need to eat a half box of matzah.
