From the traffic to the crazy drivers to the housing issues & all the fancy stores & restauants that don’t belong in a torah community like Lakewood & Rav Aharon Kotler ZT”L would never have approved

sorry for the misunderstanding but when i wrote a gallon for 2 weeks i meant buying a half gallon each week to go through the week & get a fresh HALF gallon each week as is the popular size & should be enough for just 2 people for a week

ALL the things you mentioned are already included in the last thing listed on my list of “ALL other expenses besides whats listed from between $300-800 a month” depending on the season & which month it is.

not every tiny bug product is going to be listed for e weekly shopping of a young couple & is why this last listing is written & also has a major difference from lowest 300 to 800 highest

BREAKING NEWS : Senate Blocks GOP Health Bill, Scuttling Bid to Repeal Obamacare

YES REPEALING OBAMACARE DID NOT GO THROUGH

so is this good or bad news for the middle class yid-that is just making ends meet with all tuition & mortgage bills etc…- & why? are we -middle class people- better off staying with obamacare & what its pros are or is repealing & replacing better for our financing lives so we can still make ends meet?

health insurance is expensive & can cost a family over $10,000 a year

1)the off brand diapers always leak & is not worth the difference in price, i used it for first month after my children were born & almost every diaper leaked

2)as a new couple its not worth the storage space & membership to use costco or bj’s. wait until your a larger family & also use more at a time then just 2 people

3)you can get a Verizon (best) unlimited text & talk today for as low as $30 a month for each phone thats only $60 for both of you

4)im married with children for many years & do food shopping once a week & the average-with years of doing already-is between $50 to $70 a week, we also dont spend such high prices as mentioned by iacasrima we get our sodas at walmart for 99 cents when its on sale & store up versus a jewish store charging 1.99. we get 64oz grape juice not once a month for 4.99 in a jewish store but actually twice a year before the holidays when its on sale at the supermarket for 2.99 & get at least 20 of them to last for 6 months until the holidays come again.

HERE IS YOUR LIST with the mistakes you made in prices & in what ONLY TWO PEOPLE NEED:
    1 packages chicken legs
    (4 – 6 per package ~ 5 lbs)” 2.19/LB 10.95 (THIS is also 2 peices for a weekday dinner)
1 lb chicken cutlets (weekday dinner)
    (3 lb package divided)” 3.99/LB 3.99
Gallon milk 5.00 (can last for weeks if only for 2 people)
    2 bottles soda 1.25/bottle 2.50
    8 oz cream cheese 2.99
    8 oz butter 2.50
    2 dozen eggs .99/dozen 1.98
    small rye bread 1.50
    5 lb flour 3.00
    sugar 4 lb bag 2.00
1 loaf gefilte fish 3.99 (each shabbos only needs a half loaf, a loaf makes 10 slices)
    2 heads iceberg lettuce
    1.29/head 2.58
    3 slicing tomatoes
    .89/ LB 1.11
    3 cucumbers 3/$2 2.00
    2 green peppers .99/LB 1.99
Bottle Rashi Wine 4.59 (Simple couple get grape juice for cheaper & don’t need fancy wines)
    4 cans tuna fish 1.25/can 5.00
    30 0z Jar Mayonnaise 3.99
Total 60.66 SO WHATS YOUR TOTAL NOW IF YOU MAKE THE CHANGES TO WHAT I WROTE IN PARENTESES? PROPBABLY ABOUT $50

finally you wanted to know where detergent is on my list? its the last thing listed of all odds & ends of supplies etc… between $300-800 a month every month different depending on the season (is it time for yom tov shopping for clothing or summer time?)

food is not referring to going to fancy restaurants. if a new couple does their weekly food shopping for PACKAGES of food for weekday & shabbos it shouldnt come to be more then approximately $60 a week. also remember were talking about a simple modest couple & not talking about buying every kind of dip for shabbos or fancy foods etc….

car maintainence AVERAGES out to $100 a month over the entire year which means some months for a great new lease there will be zero expenses but in the middle of nowhere a $600 maintainence fee can pop up. i.e. new cars don’t need the mechanic every month like used old cars but things still pop up that need fixing

Shtika, I’m not talking about being rich. I’m simply talking about whether having the means to not have to worry about finances, debt, or any money related stress can aid in one’s level of happiness. I think it can.

    actually
the more money a person has the MORE WORRY he has
2 lines to remember. 1)marbeh nechasim marbeh daaga (above in hebrew) 2)haya maya rotze mosayim, “a person with a hundred dollars wants 200 has a million wants 2 million & IS NEVER HAPPY no matter how rich he is he just wants more

torah she bal peh is about EXPLAINING the mitzvos in the torah not about helping you understand them.

Ever heard of a mitzva thats a “chok” ? its a mitzva that that we do because hashem commanded us even if theres no explanation & has no reason other then Hashem commanded us to do or don’t do something.
There are many “chok’s” in the torah.

it can make you happy temporarily for fake & only for a short time (by buying a beer or smoking or taking a vacation etc….)

the only thing that can bring a person to TRUE HAPPINESS is faith & trust in Hashem i.e. bitachon & emunah. once a person has reached true faith in Hashem, he gets to be the happiest person in the world, cause nothing in the world can effect him, he can be robbed or hurt right in front of his eyes but he knows %100 that its all for his good & coming straight from Hashem so he is always happy 24/7

make a daily seder of learning sefer chovos halevovos (duties of the heart) & it will bring you closer to Hashem as you put your faith & trust more into Hashem & stop believing in humans. it can take time & does not happen overnight as every person is tested by Hashem with difficult test to get through this temporary physical world. but every test a person passes brings him closer to Hashem & brings him to the next test at a higher/harder level.

i wish you Hatzlacha as you become happier & happier as you go from level to level

stopping to live in denial & klal yisroel as a nation finally waking up to life & reality with admitting to Hashem that we see his wake-up messages of non-stop horrific tragedies R”L & we are ready to come together as a nation to do teshuva so this can finally stop & mashiach can be here very soon.

i.e. when a child won’t listen to his parent. then sometimes the parent has no choice but to punish his child, we call this a potch of love as every parent knows its for the childs benefit. when so much txaros is hit upon klal yisroel but we still don’t wake up to do teshuva then we leaving our loving father hashem & our crying mother rochel imeinu no choice but to hit us again with more tzaros R”L

May we all do teshuva ASAP so mashiach can come

if they are already working full time & are still tight on their budget then they need to changed their spoiled life of this generation & live with the motto of “GET WHAT YOU NEED NOT WHAT YOU WANT”

so many people approach me for budgeting advice on how to get back on track telling me they have 3 cars & go on 3 vacations a year, is there any reason i should be surprised that they are now almost penniless? dont we all know that food clothing & tuition comes before vacations? etc…..

1)perhaps being a rebbe is not actually the BEST kind of job for this person & something in this chapter but a different job is better for him i.e. being a private tutor or a sub which is less pressure on him & a way lots of people start before becoming full time rabbeim. just like lots of jobs first you work for someone to get experience in the business & then you go on your own….

2)it takes a lot of love for torah & love for children to be a successful rebbe. if the person can’t give his entire self to helping each child to stay on track with the rest of the class then he is not ready to be a rebbe.

there are many affordable programs for learning a professional parnassa. look into PCS (Professional career services) they have many courses on many job professions which are affordable & not such long courses thus letting you start supporting your family not long after you stop learning (or can take while your still learning for that matter)

with the Sechina & hashem in his holy presence & the great himble leader Moshe Rabeinu being with klal yisroel 24/7 it was a lack of trust & faith in Hashem to question Hashem about the land promised to them & not trust Hashem when they were on such a high level & saw such great miracles every day since they left mitzrayim over & over again.

i.e. its a insult & contradiction to question YOUR own father/parents raising you since birth & taking care of EVERY SINGLE NEED, when you never yet saw in your life them not taking care of you 24/7

If they are first responders then they must know basic first aid and CPR. If a person is in cardiac arrest every Second counts!! These woman on Ezras Nashim should be trained nurses or EMT’s so that if they get a call no one has to wait that long. If G-d forbid a woman is in real danger with her health the fastest most reliable EMT (which I believe Hatzala is best) should be called it should not matter man or woman when someone needs life saving treatment like CPR. As a first responder service there is no excuse that they are not trained in CPR, every teenage lifegaurd is trained to be a first responder and knows basic first aid and CPR.
