Why does anyone including the bride have to wear gowns. Besides being expensive, most gowns are downright ugly. Wear nice clothes. Save money.

I grew up in an orthodox shul and have been davening in a conservative shul for more than 25 years and so far I have not been hit by lightning. BTW, I am one of many who lain and who are shlichei tzibur. It is a shul filled with folks who are yodeiah sefer.
Redleg raises an interesting point re: being to have two day shadow. It is also fashionable to have a beard. So is having a beard now k’derekh hagoyim?

It is because these young men want to emulate their Rabbi’s who guide them with das Torah.
Don’t be concerned. This way everyone will know he is yeshivish. Even people on the phone who can not see that he is wearing the frum uniform.
