I dont need to speak to my local Rabbi about the need for Smoke Dectectors, Carbon Monoxide Dectectors and an escape Ladder. Some things should be obvious to anyone.

If the Mods allow this link to the First Alert Website for the 14ft Escape ladder, If you have more than one story in your house, you should get one. Jumping out of the window is not a plan. Put one in every bedroom in your house if you can.

We must all have working smoke detectors in our homes. That being said, if that’s the message you get out of this horrific tragedy, you’ve MISSED THE POINT!!

No I did not miss the point. One should not rely on miracles , Getting a working smoke dectector and carbon monoxide detector is cheap and saves lives and you can help prevent another tragedy from occuring.

If you know of some poor people who cannot afford the $35 for a smoke detector/ carbon Monoxide detector, buy it for them as a gift

First Alert also makes an escape ladder for about $35 on Amazon if you have to escape from the second floor. Get one and give one to a Gemach!!!

BTW one could say the same thing about any “Luxury” why drive a lexus, why not drive a 1995 Ford station wagon and give the money to Tzedakah.

Why go on vacation anywhere, just stay home and give the money to Tzdekah for the trip.

why eat out. Our ancestors never ate out, eat simply at home and give the rest away

I dont go to Hotel, however for many people especially older ones, Peseach has become a miserable holiday. Between cooking and cleaning, grandma is pooped out and cant enjoy yom tov with family. So people just say, Ill just pay the money and be done. grandma can pay some money and enjoy time with family. Perhaps is people didnt get so OCD over Pesach, people would not go

Likud and labor are more of a general party as they need to spread out their votes more than special interest smaller parties

You have read more carefully, they were allowed to work at 24. Just no government benefits. However this did not suit some some for political reasons

Lapid did allow the Charedim to work without serving once somone hit 24. However they would not be able to collect any government money.

    Found this from Haaretz

In the Haredi city of Bnei Brak, United Torah Judaism won 59.35% of the votes. Another 23.97% voted for Shas, 5.5% for Yahad, 4.57% for Likud, 2.35% for Habayit Hayehudi, 1.28% for the Zionist Union and 1.15% for Kulanu. The rest of the parties all had less than 1% of the vote in the city.

I suspect you are not the only charedi who feels that way. I think many voted Likud and not UTJ . If statistics ever came out for Bnei Brak you would get a clearer picture

There was a Butcher on Long Island called Commack Kosher Butcher who has a conservative Rabbi as supervision. At the tine ny had a kosher law and the butcher was fined because they did not meet the orthodox requiremts. They sued based on they had conservative supervision and the law was declared un constitutional.

comments on some blog arent going to get you sued, but if someone local orthodox rabbi declared publically not to buy from a place with conservative supervision, the owner might have grounds for libel.

The arabs will not sit with Herzog, they have said so. I cant post a link, but they have said so publically. Check Jpost or Haaretez.

Kulanu is run by an ex-Likudnick who is right wing, he just dislikes Bibi, He is more likely to sit with Bibi than Herzog.

Unless the Arab party supports Herzog, he cant win. You need 61 votes to form a government and with Shas/UTJ refusing to sit with Lapid, its impossible for Herzog to get to 61

And how do you know previous generations were such saints. The people in the Midbar were punished for Baal Pe-or. Zimri and Cozby were as much a debuchery as anything that occurs today.

People who worshipped Molech would send their children through fire to worship the gods (mostly killing them)

If the doctor tells you to take it, you can generally take it

Liquor is probably more dangerous than Marajiuana. And especially this week coming up. Many bochering do not normally drink during the year, but will get drunk on Purim, some will R’L drive or be hit by some who did drink and drive.

Too much Alcohol also causes cirrhosis of the liver and other liver diseases as well

FYI the Queen of England is actually powerless and basically a ceromonial position. The Kings and Queens of England were basically stripped of their powers in 1689 for the gloriuos revolution.

And I am not so sure Queen Elizabeth is a direct decendent of William the Conqueror either. There have been breaks in the monarchy and there was a civil war in england in the 15th century (War of the Roses)

Marajana might be less dangerous than Ciggarettes or Alchohol.

However there is the Dinah D’Malchus Dinah issue. For most states and countries of the world
