I’m not NASI or their spokesperson. With that said, from their advertisements, NASI appears to be focused on those already dating not encouraging people to start dating younger. No NASI initiative that I have ever seen advertised even implies criticism of the freezer concept, let alone outright criticize it. Its one thing to disagree with a prposed initiative, its quite another to criticize something that does not exist.

apushatayidParticipantMinyan = Consistency. For some it is consistently on time, for others it is consistently 15 minutes late and for others it is consistently at the kosel (of their dorm room).

apushatayidParticipantMake sure the computer is in a place where all activity is visible to everyone else. If noone else around, it may not be used. Make sure last person to use, powers down, completely. Always require password when turning on, coming back from standby or hibernation mode. Passwords that require the input of several people will ensure computer is never used alone.
apushatayidParticipantThe best filter is a computer that is accessible and usable only in front of other people. Specifically, people you would not want to cross.
apushatayidParticipantIf you have boys, they would probably prefer a video about the Wizard of Ahhhs (Ozzie Smith Highlights).
apushatayidParticipantI dont know where you live, or what logistics are involved in getting from shul to the train. in my neighborhood the 5:50 minyan ends early enough to first stop for breakfast at the bagel store with time to get to the platform by 6:50.
To answer your questions.
A-was it possible they davened early enough for a 650am train
It is possible.
B-would they get to the manhatten with enough time to catch a minyan
Depends. Where are they leaving from? what minyan are they trying to make?
C-do most bachurim on bein hazmanim continue going to minyan the way they did during zman
Lets put it this way. The retirees in my neighborhood cant wait for bein hazmanim, it is when the shteeble has a 9:00 weekday shachris as well 🙂
apushatayidParticipantThe off switch. Works wonders. Some have suggested it might be too strict, but hey, why not err on the side of caution.

They do not make it in the store, they are reheating a brand of certified GF Pizza that you can buy online. I have ordered it in the store, and have seen how careful they are about cross contamination.

I’m not sure what situation you are referring to, but if you listen to Rav Oelbaums talk, you will hear that in almost every situation, the poskim he cites disagree with your statement.

March 14, 2012 9:08 pm at 9:08 pm in reply to: Do any Brooklyn Rabbonim say its OK to report molesters to police first? #860095apushatayidParticipantRav Oelbaum shlita spoke in Queens last year. He quoted the Tzitz Eliezer (and said other contemporary poskim agree) who paskened when asked by someone named “Dr. Abraham” that in a case of clear danger to the person being abused not only may one report it to the authorities, one is “mechuyav” to go straight to the police (it is not relevant that the person will be arrested etc…). If I am not mistaken, this is true even if the ongoing abuse is not life threatening. You can find this talk of Rav Oelbaum Shlita online at torahanytime.com
If I am not mistaken, he quoted R’ Elyashiv Shlita, he should have a refua shlaima bikarov, that in a case of sakana to the abused one must go to the authorities even if it means the child will be put into foster care that is not a frum environment.

APY was quoting the Star-K, otherwise I stated nothing.
apushatayidParticipantNo.
apushatayidParticipantAs a matter of policy, for non football events at Met Life Stadium, there is a parking fee of $25 per CAR. Your $18 ticket actually costs you $58 if you drive to the Siyum.
As far as handling fees. $8 for an $18 ticket is not crazy. For a $25 ticket to tomorrow nights Rangers game at MSG, Ticketmaster charges a fee of $12.5. The only thing that would not be right, is if nobody tells you there is an $8 fee per ticket (is it $8 per ticket, or per order, perhaps they will send it Fedex or UPS so that the shipment is trackable and traceable) and bills you for it anyway.
March 12, 2012 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm in reply to: IfIf a food is Kosher for Pesach for Ashkenazi and Sephardi.? #859354apushatayidParticipantAccording to the Star-K it is (this does not mean other Ashkenazic certifications disagree, i just dont know) allowed to be used by Ashkenazim on Pesach provided it has a proper hechsher for pesach. they have several articles on their website about Quinoa.
apushatayidParticipantUnless the hackers are celebrating Purim 🙂

apushatayidParticipantI bet Ohr Naava does. Why dont you call them at 718-ohr-naav(a).
apushatayidParticipant“The uniform thing shtams from the fact that its more bekovidik’.”
It shtams from the fact that it is uniform. If more bakovidik was the criteria, then a suit and tie would be the uniform. Perhaps a tux and tails.
apushatayidParticipantA nice megilla or haggadah. it will only get used twice a year, but she will have it forever.
apushatayidParticipantMaybe he called her a deer.
apushatayidParticipant“SO at the end of the day whats better”
My vote is for a white shirt tucked into a pair of dressy cargo jeans.
apushatayidParticipantTOI: I did not, and will not, advocate a yeshiva bachur wear jeans into the beis medrash for afternoon seder (although I feel he can shteig just fine if he did). However, I am saying (and you will probably still disagree with me) that I see no problem, with a yeshiva bachur wearing a pair of jeans when he is playing ball, helping his father clean the car for pesach or when engaged in a similar activity.
Your last statement, is not what you have been saying until now. Until now you equated jeans with lower elements of society and not bakovidik, therefore I asked you why they were mutually exclusive. Now, you are using the “uniform” argument. I am stating that I believe there are times when they are appropriate.
apushatayidParticipantI dont think it is unethical or nerdy. In fact, I think it is a great idea if the alternative is throwing it out. All unwanted healthy foods go to those who appreciate alfala sprouts, celery soda and organic carrots. Junk food goes to all the kids in the neighborhood, as much as they can carry away they can have, homemade cakes, pastries, salads, meat sanwiches and the like, unfortunately we can not recycle due to kashrus standards all around (it is tough to keep track if we are recycling a chocolate cake from someone who is not makpid on chalav yisroel to someone who is for example). Those come with me to work and my non jewish coworkers enjoy it for lunch on shushan purim.
apushatayidParticipantPeople have written here that jeans are for the the lowest rung of society, why is it surprising that “women pull their children away from me in the stores, no one holds the door open for me, and I get dirty looks.”
