i’ve heard that IN ORDER TO CHANGE THE WORLD (OR OTHER PEOPLE) YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOURSELF.

..also just wanted to add that i know mannnnnyyy girls sadly, who would LIKE to dress in a tziniut way, but they’re parents disapprove and they have a hard time at home. 🙁 we should never judge someone!

if you can’t help women by telling them, Everbody make sure to pray for Them! Each tefillah counts!

This is how i heard the story:

The Chafetz Chayim z”l, who was known for always using his time to the fullest, (He was able to give only a minute of his life away not because he was stingy, but because he understood how much a person can achieve in one minute.)was also known to spnd his whole Yom Kippur deeply immersed in prayer and getting into thoughts of teshuvah the whole time. The night of Yom Kippur, he usually did not sleep and utilized every second of the holy day.

One Yom Kippur, after Neilah, as all the men started to go home, the Chafetz Chayim continued to pray and was ready to spend his whole night in the shul. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed one man who sat on the side looking deeply depressed. He quickly went over to the man and asked what was wrong. The man proceeded to tell him that everything was fine. The Chafetz Chayim continued to show care for the man, and throughout the ENTIRE Yom Kippur night, the Chafetz Chayim did NOT spend it praying tehillim, he did NOT spend it thinking of thoughts of tshuvah, he spent it talking to a fellow Jew, helping him and giving him chizuk as the minutes ticked by of his precious Yom Kippur!

Let us be inspired to listen and encourage our friends, lift them up when they’re down and show them they’re important in our eyes b”H!!

Shopping: I’m a girl, and usually refer to my campers (who are girls) as “guys” but i know some of my co-counselors learned not to at school, so i got nervous. But i think i got some reassurance 🙂

even though i think this is a problem and also get sad and am trying to dress the right way, i think we also have to make sure to judge favorably. When i look at some of the women i realize that i know some of them and i know the way they grew up and for them-tight and to the knee skirts are a BIG step for them and we should not put them down, but instead think about their situation and give them some credit. Some people might be trying really hard even though it might be hard for us to understand! 🙂

i know many ppl who expect the call back. and i think it’s just making it easier for the other person, because instead of them calling you a million times when you’re not available, just call them back when you can talk and have time for them.

Nissim Shaul- i thought this was a very good idea and i mentioned it to someone who said “they should just know that Hashem’s looking at it” We don’t realize that we shouldn’t have to have our websites sent to our Rabbis so that we don’t go on it, Hashem also knows what websites we go on so who are we fooling when we don’t have this app??

We had one that wasn’t so scary but better than all the police cars, hazlolah etc.!!

A Rabbi came on friday to tell us a dvar Torah. One of our counselors, who’s father was a Rabbi, said

“My father doesn’t agree with that.” then the Rabbi said

“Well i think its this way.” then (while we stood gaping) she said “Well my father’s usually right.” he said

“You wanna fight?!” (now we were almost jumping out of our seats)

she said “What kind of fight?”

    “You wanna have a war?”

    “What kind of war?”

then the Rabbi screamed “COLOR WAR!”

no one knew and it was the besttt breakout ever because NO ONE was expecting it.

yeah i think, i know its the 2nd nevuah that Rabi Akiva was talking about when he saw foxed traversing the place where the kodesh hakedoshim once stood and laughed.

I’ve heard this question. People ask “Why are we celebrating when 24,000 talmidim stopped dying when there WAS only 24,000 students? there was noone else lefttt to die, they didnt STOP dying cuz they ALL died.

So i heard a great answer.. that we’re celebrating the Greatness of Rabi Akiva. Any other person would have given up at this point,

“Hashem i tried to hard to make you happy and do your will and this is what i get in return?!” But NO, Rabi Akiva did not say a word, he had 24,000 students and buried every single one of them.

We are celebrating that Rabi Akiva did not DIE with them. Not physically, but spiritually. He continued and made the best of the situation, taught only 5 new students with happiness and had full trust in HK”BH. We should take a lesson from Lag baOmer to never lose hope and to know that every challenge we get is from our loving father,Hashem!

mochoh- i dont really understand what you wrote but i didnt see anything wrong with giggle girl’s answer, i wanted her opinion, i wanted to know what people live by, because i’ve heard different answers from different people.

kingdavid- but maybe it’s not good for you untilllll you show Hashem that you truly trust in Him( you become a changed person when u trust in Hashem and then different things are good for you)

also what about “bederech she’adam rotzeh lalech boh molichin oto” -doesn’t it coincide with bitachon #1?- like i remember reading in “All for the Boss” a story how Reb Yaakov Yoseph Herman started walking to Jerusalem in the night so that he wouldn’t have to sleep outside of Jerusalem. Even if he would have walked for days he still wouldnt have made it there but he trusted that if he made this commitment, Hashem would help him through it. And Hashem did, and his friend happened to come on that exact road and was able to drive him the long distance.

in abt 6th-8th grade one of my young teachers played a trick on us.

she came to school and pretended she was engaged. We really believed her, even when she told us that she’s getting married very soon, leaving our school and moving to Texas!

we all danced with her and my other teacher believed her too! I was devastated because she was my favorite teacher ever, and i started crying in the bathroom!(LOL!) …in the end she took the microphone and said sm like “PURIM SAMEACH- IT WAS A JOKE! :D” ..most girls laughed and some girls told her i was crying in the bathroom and she came to me and felt soo bad 🙂 and she told me i had permission to play a trick on her (not a disrespectful one)…anyway that was one teacher trick I’ll never forget!

for people that want the lyrics to the last song CRY NO MORE 🙂

    Please no more

Many broken-hearted, friends lost and departed,

    Please no more

Now the time has come, everyone must stand together,

    and be strong forever more.

Young and helpless children, illness and confusion,

    Please no more

Old and lonely people, hunger, war and evil,

    Please no more

Now the time has come, everyone as one forever

    Let His kingdom rise again.

    Chorus

    CRy NO MORE YERUSHALAIM,

    SHINE ONcE MORE YERUSHALAIM,

WE NEED TO SEE yOU PROUD AGAIN

    UPON THE MOUNTAIN OF HASHEM

THEN wE’LL cRy NO MORE YERUSHALAIM

Enemies of freedom, hatred without reason,

    Please no more

Weapons of destruction, terror and corruption.

    Please no more

Now the time has come, return and stay this time forever

    Let His glory shine again

    Chorus…
