Phil, I don’t agree. When other peoole are involved, veavto lereacha comes into play and maybe your personal rights have to be put aside.

Philosopher I don’t agree with you. This virus is extra ordinary, so it requires extra ordinarily measures by getting vaccinated which most rabbis agree with besides the normal protection you prescribe as I take every year a flu vaccine.
We don’t rely on miracles as G-d helps those that help themselves.

phil, it says ונשמרתם מאד לנפשותיכם, you should protect your body well, in plural to protect others too, so I don’t agree with you but תפסת מרובה לא תפסת grabbing too much is also not good.

We say, רופא כל בשר ומפליא לעשות, maybe, we are referring to a vaccine that can fool the body to think it is sick before becoming sick to create antibodies to fight when becoming sick as it says אני ה’ רפאיך, Hashem prevents us from becoming sick.

The Chasan Sofer, who was a talmid of the Ksav Sofer, interprets the Haggada as a seder, rule for the whole year, בשעה שיש מצה ומרור מונחים לפניך to keep the good and bad constantly infront of us.

The Ksav Sofer gives us a remez, hint of how one should like one’s life both when going good or ch’v badly. It says, וה’ הולך לפניהם יומם when Hashem provides someone hatzlacha, success, בעמוד ענן לנחותם הדרך, a person should keep infront the dark cloud, not make his wealth sway him from Hashem but realize that his wealth comes from Hashem who can also take it away, ולילה בעמוד אש, and vice versa, when going ch’v badly, he should keep in mind the cloud of fire, not to get depessed but realise that Hashem can make it better. ללכת יומם ולילה. this will help to live when doing good or not.

Reah, Rav Shwab was mechaven to the Binah Leitim on Pirkei Avos that true wealth is what we give to and share with others. The Binah Leitim also says (Shevii shel Pesach) based on the pasuk olam chesed yiboneh, the world constantly stands on chesed, Hashem created the world to share His wealth with others. So vehalachto bedrachav. we should emulate His ways,so it makes sense that we should do the same to others.

You can do personaly what you want but don’t try to influence others when it is a question of their health. I don’t think that you would be happy if someone died ch’v because of it. The protection of the vaccine outweighs the discomfort.

The king carries a Sefer Torah constantly witb him to remember to follow it and not judge like all other nations as the pasuk Samuel (1,5,5) indicates.

When wanting a king the pasuk says, kechol hagoyim, as the nations do, but when the Torah commands us to appoint a king, it does not say it. You are allowed to appoint a king but not as the nations do.

We have to weigh the effect of the vaccine towards the effect of COVID. The probability of ill effects of the vaccine is much smaller than the risk of ending up in the hospital and death c’v with COVID without beihg vaccinated.

Many chasiddish clothes, (long beard, long payes, white socks, long garb etc.) was worn to protect against assimilation. They bring a proof to wear long garb from the clothes borrowed by the Jews in mitzraim were put on the children as it was too short for them but it could be that the children being clothed comes first.

Maybe לא ניתן תורה למלאכי השרת, the Torah does not require exact like some say that we don’t have to look for worms with a magniying glass. We don’t compare the bullet to the gun by removing it from the deceased. The computer does not determine pasul letters in the sefer torah only point out questiinable.

When I took chemistry, I asked my teacher, why do I have to know this? He told me to see the greatess of Hashem’s creation, a miniature solar system in every atom. We understand the first Daroshos Haran how a tzibur gets formed. Every individual has deficiencies which another individual fulfills thereby creating a unity which cannot be broken. Water is made up of oxygen and hydrogen which shares the electeons which oxygen is missing. I heard pshat in the meaning of בורא נפשות רבות וחסרונן indicatung this that Hashem created humans with deficiencies which Hashem and other humans fulfill.

What is the purpose of this thread? I think we should do what we can and then daven that iit should bear fruits by protectihg us. It says by Bas Paraoh, vatishlach es amosah, where Rashi says her hand grew. How did she know that her hand will grow? It teaches us to do what we can, our hishtadlus, and than we will be helped and not sit idly by and wait until we will be helped.

The Torah says venishmartem meod lenafshosechem, you should be very careful to protect your flesh, body. It is in plural implying that be careful not to hurt others besides yourself. Appreciate the life given to you and don’t risk it. The CDC uses the available science at the time to protedt us, so we must follow them.

ujm, the Aruch Hashulchan accepts it based on the Levush but not the MB and don’t bring proofs from what it should be but what it is. Could be, should be, the fact is that currently women go to work and men became used to it and does not effect them any more. Look at the above teshuva which discusses the Aruch Hashulchan’s question which is very interesting.

The source of this is the above Levush that man don’t get affected any more as women are involved in masoh umaton, business, they became accustomed to it. See the above teshuva in great detail.
