People have the custom to do it on shabbos when they are not busy. If it cannot be done, one should step on them. Underware is not really necessary.

The Binah Leitim in Eis Tzarah, the 1st Darush for Shabbos Divrei explains the connectiion of the haftoras for the three weeks. It says in Shabbos (119,2) that the churban came because shelo hohichu zeh es zeh, they did not admonish each other. Then it says. keayolim lo motzu mire, like rams that don’t find pasture, being like rams when walking, sticking their head in the tail of the other, not listening and therefore also ashaming talmidei chachamim. He says all are true. The talmudei chachamomim covered for each other, so they did not admonish each other, in order, as each is also knowledgeable, will admonish him back, but the hamon am, the layman, they did admonish. So they did not listen and the taomidei chachamim got ashamed. Therefore, the haftoras are divrei, to admonish equally everyone, then shimi, it will be listened to. The hochacha, admonishment should be what is described in chazon. Listening should bring the redemption and the rebuilding the beis hamikdash, the temple, ibimheira beyomeinu, in our time. Amen

Pinchas, tosfas in Shabbos (23,2) says that todir only applies in precedence when both are done then the constant comes first but if one is done or the other, todir is not followed but publicizing the miracle. We say a yom tov shemonei esrei with shabbos rather than a shabbos shemonei esrei with yom tov. Also they must be on the same level, if one is obligatory and the other optional it is not followed, see Shagas Aryeh 27. It is like a race where one is crippled. The constant should not be done kamitzvas anoshim melumodim. done by rout.

Mattos, we can even learn from the bad, what not to do. We can learn mitvos from what ferver aveiros are done. Bilaam wanted a reward from his bridling of his domkey, so he was told that Avraham Avinu did that before him.

The Chasam Sofer explains the statement, kol hamisabel al Yerusalaim zoche veraeh besimchasa, whoever mourns the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem will be able to see its rejoicement. A dead person l’a is after twelve months forgotten from the heart, but by his mourning, he shows that for him, the destruction of the temple is not dead and forgotten, therefore, his needs to rebuild Jerusalem with the temple will also not be forgotten and be able to see its rejoicenent.

Speaking of mathematics, the Binah Leitim 3rd Darush for Parashas Eicha, explains how the placement of a word in the brocho of Moshe Rabbenu changes its meaning for the better. It says in Parashas Devorim, Hashem Elokeichem yosef aleichem kochem elef pamim, where it should have said, elef pamim kochem? This converts it from a finite brocho to an almost infinite brocho. Hashem should double your current count (kochem) and repeat the doubling a thousand times. The amount will be 2 to the thousand power. It is a number containing 301 zeroes according to the logarithm of 2 which is equal to .3010 when multiplied by thousand will be 301.

Lekan adds up to 101, learning 101 is greater than 100. Ani Li also adds up to 101. A person must care for himself first and then for others as Hilel tells us. There is a vort of the Baal Shem Tov that even learning one letter requires us to respect the rebbi bringing a proof from Doag who thought David Hamelech only two things. He explains that one letter is para verava, multiplies knowledge but Doag taught him ‘only’ those two things nothing else. Therefore a person learning lishma gains ‘many’ benefits. I have an example how one letter creates new knowledge. Whoever adds to the mitzvos takes away because it says, amosayim vachetsi archa, so the GRA explains that the proof is not from amosayim because we would not know the measurements. The proof is from the ‘vov’ of vachetsi as without it we would read amosayim chatzi archa, two is half its length, so the length would be four but like this it is two and a half less than otherwise.

The computer programs above are enjoyable multiple choice games that teach the expressions in gemara, e.g. bamei askinin, what are we taking about, that when recognized will allow one to set words correctly. The other teaches the keywords that intruduce ae.g. a kashyeh, eiseva, maskif, iboei lehu, to shema which can be a kashe, question or tiretz. answer depending where the chamor appears. Chamor can mean either wine or a donkey depending on the context.

The Binah Leitim explains the passage in Pirkei Avos, im lomadta Torah harbeh, al tachzik tovah leatzmecha, don’t keep the best for yourself. ki lekach notzarto, you were created to help others. For yourself, you did not need to be created. If one learns just for himself, would have been better not be created as he does not satisfy the purpose of creation, to help others. The Ben Ish Chai says that lekach has two kafs, one closed and one open. poseach tiftach es yadcha, open up your clenched fist. The Midrash in Koheles compares this to a fox who sees an vineyard sorrounded by a fence which has a small hole, so he has to fast to get through. When he fills himself up with grapes, he becomes fat again, so he has to fast again. A person is born with a clenched fist but dies with an open hand. There are no pockets in the tachrichim. We cannot take it with us.

There are computer programs gemara tutor and master talmud available at tes – jewishsoftware dot com. Gemara tutor teaches the idioms of the gemora to know how to set the words. Whereas, master talmud teaches the logic of the gemara recogniable by key words.
To learn aramaic. it is advisable to do weekky shenayim mikra v’echad targum, two times the pasuk and once the targum. For Rashi, hebrew is must be understood where the knowledge of the roots of the words is required. There is a book from Barons called 501 Hebrew Verbs.

According to the Chasam Sofer we fight the yetzer hara through rodef shalom, being against peace. The body and soul are constantly at odds but our job is bakesh shalom through veradfehu by creating a small conflict. Let tbe neshama do something that tthe body resists doing and then bakesh shalom, let the body get used to it and continue this process. This will bring spiritual improvements in small increments. This is the meaning of as Hashem creates peace in heavens should make peace on us, body and soul and on all Jews, Amen
