Wow, Always, spot on! I’m an FFB but now that you pointed it out I can attest to every word! I thought they only treat frum Jews like that. It didn’t occur to me that they also treat each other like that. I must add that modern religious Jews treat us with the same coldness and arrogance. I wonder how they treat each other.

Thanks, SeeAllSides. “try to use save as in word, and save it as a pdf” – I don’t see this option in Save As. I’ll try Cardo.

Wow, thanks everyone. All those free or cheap fonts are apparently the old ones. They look fine in Word, but when I PDF the file, the bold letters are corrupted. Also, sometimes when I type in Frank Ruehl, a diff font appears instead and I have to restart my computer to get it back. Davka’s Unicode fonts work very well but don’t accept nekudos. Frank Ruehl is the clearest font, but nikud is a must for me. I’ll spend $125 if I have to, but I wonder if the $25 one would work. Ronsr, would you know?

Thanks a lot, everyone for your input.

The font from fontyukle and fontzone don’t either work well.

Yes. Their Unicode fonts don’t support nikud.

MP, I learned this remez in school, plus this: the eight days stands for bris milah, which is done on the eighth day. So in Chanukah we see all three mitzvos the yevanim forbade: Shabbos, Milah, Chodesh.

Many good comments here. Another case in point: Before the seforim of the Chfetz Chaim became widespread, EVERYONE was talking lashon hora, including the biggest rebbetzins. Does that make it right?

    Soliek, +1!

Scissors, ???? ?????. We FFBs have our share of ???????. At least you know there’s nowhere to run back to. Please realize that the negative you encounter has nothing to do with frumkeit and all to do with inner-city bigotry, narrow-mindedness, and conspicuous consumerism. I know many OOT (and OOUSA) FFBs who are even frummer than the ones you live amongst, and they’re open-minded, accepting, and well-mannered.

Sam, “Not everyone agrees that the elbows and knees must be covered…”

Of those that don’t, 50% of their kids text on Shabbos.

I know this is happening, I’m just not convinced that it’s so widespread. If it’s “part of growing up” (r”l), most of us would’ve been molested, or at least knew more than a few victims of molestation. And if that were the case, nobody would deny the problem. The reason so many don’t believe it must be because it’s NOT widespread, and surely not as widespread BY FAR as among the goyim, or the Catholic clergy with their crazy curse of celibacy. This is simple common sense. Seeing abuse everywhere is just as foolish as seeing it nowhere. I’m all for your crusade, but don’t exaggerate, please, and have a little respect for our rabbonim and mesorah. No, we are not like them. (I’m not referring to those who watch goyishe shmutz, of course. Even if they’re “frum”, they’re human. Looking at shiksas or worse is not exactly conductive to kedusha.)

Aries, it still makes no sense. If it’s part of growing up, how come none of my kids or siblings knows about such things b”H? When I warn them about that, they don’t even know what I’m talking about. Only one brother had one sub (NOT Rebbe) who took kids on his lap. The only explanation I can think of is that your chevraman is himself a molester. Like some people with mental illness try to pretend that the whole world is mentally ill.

Another point. My father, a tzaddik of a yid, still refuses to believe that parental molestation is possible. He’s so far from such filth, he can’t imagine it happening. I’m sure many rabbonim are like that. We should try to explain it to them, of course, but instead of denigrating them, we should appreciate their purity, and the holiness of Klal Yisrael, that prevents them from seeing the truth.

Aries, are you sure that Chassidishe yungerman understood what molested means? For all I know he thought it means chapping petch! The story makes no sense otherwise.

    OK, let’s make it interesting.

Do you ALWAYS run with scissors fast?

Do you always run WITH SCISSORS fast?

Do you always run with scissors FAST?

Or do you SOMETIMES run with scissors fast?

Or always run (sometimes empty-handed) fast?

Or always run with scissors (sometimes slow)?

Is it possible to run slow?

    Just one more question:

Are you related to Mrs. Critique who may always know the answers correctly?

If yes, please ask her for me: Is it possible to know answers incorrectly? Is it possible to “may always” anything?

TIA. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around these two galus-long SN’s ever since they appeared.

With the info explosion the question became more complex. Almost any Jew, anywhere, can be as knowledgeable nowadays about Judaism as Jews growing up in the NY area in R’ Moshe’s time.
