US , Canadian and EU Citizens do not need a Visa if they visit any Schengen countries (Western European Countries part of the Schengen agreement)

Turkey (and Israel) gives US citizens visa upon arrival.

If you are an Isareli citizen its different and I dont know the Visa laws

About Safety for jews in Europe, Ive been there a few times including Germany and did not feel unsafe at all. In fact the first thing I saw in Germany was a Kosher food Machine.

There will be change, there already is massive poverty in the Charedi communities.

As the Charedi communities become a larger and larger percentage of the population there will be fewer and fewer people earning money to pay the taxes that pay for yeshivas

The Charedim will be forced to go to work and when they realize they cant get very high paying jobs to support the large families because of limited education they will be forced to change their secular education bans

why settle for the absolute minimum amount of matzah needed to be yotzeh?

Because eating too much can make people sick. Especially eating large amounts in short periods of time

Fellowships are private money not government money

And they just dont give it to you, you have to apply and fill out tons of paperwork to show why you deserve the money

The Rabbi was on line in the Supermarket, Ahead of him was an eldery Lady who was obviously not well off.

She had only a few items as it was obvious as she could barely afford what was there. The items were mostly food except for the Bounty.

She then looked in her purse and looked at the items and mumbled (loudly enough for the Rabbi to hear) that Rabbi Blumenkratz said not to buy the Bounty and buy the Hemish Brand . She then got the more expensive Hemish brand of Paper Towels and removed FOOD from her order because she could not afford both.

Most people dont go around asking the Rav’s for every single product, they go by what the book says even if it means sacraficing food for some non-food Chumra

As I understand it, welfare is a government subsidy for those who have no job.

I think we have a misunderstanding of the words then.

A stipend for learning (Or any other reason) from the government would be called Welfare or a handout here in the US

what if your fifteen year old is frying the noodles for the soup? They have to be drained right away, and she’s using one after the other? Old enough to cook, not old enough to realize that there could be a problem

We dont fry food in my house at all super unhealthy and usually makes me sick. I certainly never heard of anyone frying noodles before (Doesnt mean its not done, just never heard of it)

Its not a problem if you wash with it, If someone in your house eats Kitniyot (Like a Baby) it doesnt traif anything. You can clean the babies stuff in the sink

It might only be a problem if you soak the oil or something, but dont listen to me, Ask your Rov if its a Chumra or Halacha

    I am not poskinim here

But I do see the Sedar as a big problem comming up, Ive seen OTD people remark how they have “suffered” through a Sedar.

Perhaps this year maybe you can change your Sedar slightly. Maybe Speed up (and I mean SPEED UP) some parts and slow down others in order to get him to stay. Better to have a Speed Seder with him there and not complaining that any other option.

The zionists caused the severe limitation of the ability of Jews to be allowed to go to Eretz Yisroel before the war. They also said they don’t want the old Jews from Europe to come to Palestine. And they said they preferred a cow in Palestine than a European Jew.

And, today, Israel is the most dangerous and deadly country for a Jew to live in.

Actually the truth is in many cases the Rabbanim refused to allow their flock to emigrate to Palestine before the 1937 White Paper made it illegal. They declared the land assur. Much like they declared going to America assur

Forget about any propaganda, I suspect the leadership is afraid that many would leave the Charedi Lifestyle if given a choice. Normally a choice is not given but the army would allow a way out.

With the comments here and treament of Dati-Leumi Rabbis in Israel its not shocking that the leadership is turning a deaf ear to the pleas of the Charedi community.

You cannot insult and defame a community and then expect them to come to your aid when your chips are down.

Perhaps if more civility and respect had occured the current result would never have happend and Bayit HaYudi would have teamed up with Shas and UTJ and not Yesh Atid

There more I hear about it, the more I am convienced “Share the Burden” is not about the draft, but rather welfare burdens.

The Non-Charedim dont wont the Charedim in the Army, the army doesnt want them, they dont want to pay them the welfare benefits especially since many of them are struggling as well and can barely afford to support their own families.

By forcing the Chilonim to leave you will have a welfare state with no producers only takers. And the takers are already very poor and starvation is faily common. You cant have a Zebulin / Yissochar arrangement without Zebulin

Its not a matter if your Rav has a problem, its a matter of wasting the Gedols time.

Maybe your question isnt important, but if 500 people felt the same way and asked the Gadol a similar question when it was easier to ask a local rabbi, the Gadol would have more time for more pressing issues.

    OP

If you want a Bracha from a Gadol, Why not send a Kvitel to BMG and ask for a Bracha from Rav Kotler or Rav Newman

Zahavasdad, I met someone who claimed that he saw items from the Beis Hamikdash in the vatican.

Several problems with that, One he “Claimed” without proof I dont put any stock in this.

There are jewish items in the Vatican, Ive seen them myself, but many are mismarked and mistranslated. I am sure you have heard of the Famous Michaelangelo Statue of Moses (Its not in the Vatican, but near the Colesseum) where Michaelangelo thought Moses had horns and made a scuplture of him with horns.

The Terms THE Jewish Temple (Beis Hamingdosh) and FROM a Jewish Temple (could be any shul) are easy to mistake

Bear was espousing the Satmar/Eidah HaChareidis view that the existence of the secular State of Israel is inherently a chillul Hashem. Therefore, it would be preferable for the state not to exist. However, neither Satmar nor the Eidah supports actively trying to “destroy” the state. Only Neturi Karta does that.

I hope the mods let this question though, Its not meant to be attack alhough it might be taken as such

Geting involved with elections is a major disruptment especially from non citizens. We do not tolerate it here. So why should the Israelis tolerate it. Certainly there were many reports that some election events were going to happend to prevent voting while you might not think they were all true, With all the reports some were likely true.

While many belive the Vatican has artifacts from he Beis Hamigdosh, its very unlikely that they do. They do have other relics though from afterwards

The city of Rome was abandoned by Emperor Constatine and left to its own defenses was sacked many times most famously by the Vandals and Visigoth. Its likely that during one of these sackings, the artifacts were taken and melted by the Barbarians. The Colesseum itself is only about 20% original as most of it was ransacked as well
