You should be registered as a democrat as most of the primaries especially in New York City state is from the Democratic party & in most cases whoever wins the primary is a is usually a shoe in to win the election. Therefore until the ReRepublicans start having the majority of primaries & become the main party in NYC register as a Democrat so we can continue to keep candidates such as Alexander Occassio Cortez out of office. Now for the Democratic primary vote for the candidate who Trump will have the easier time defeating in November & vote for Trump in November. If we register as Republicans we will no longer be able to vote in the Democratic primaries @ Chas vashalom we will not have a say if candidates who will hurt the community will get elected

I watched the super Bowl went to maariv for a good part of Halftime & when I put the TV back on way still in the middle of Halftime & turned right off & put it back on fifteen minutes later just in time for the second half. So I would say if you watch it you must turn it off for halftime & probably some or many of the commercials

Tablet K gives hechsheirim to dairy places that have both kosher & non kosher in the establishment for example in a bagel store that sells bagels, tuna fish etc can also sell pork & he states in the sign in the window what products the hechser covers. In addition there is no Mashgiach temidi in the store so who knows what goes on. I myself would not recommend such an hechser.

To RebYidd23 you would have to ask the Gedolim or mashgichim hador is Eretz Yisroel that question. In regards to the Bais Yaakov Director I don’t know if that is still the case but there was alot of exacturation as to what really happened on those trips. This is because there were many people whose rabbeim did not allow them to go so they went back & exacturated in the hope no one else goes as they felt jealous. Infact when the mashgiach hador told me I can’t go I tried explaining exacturations until he bought it the two issues above which in that case I had no argument & accepted his Pesak

I do not want to quote these Gedolim publicly but the mashgiach hador who I asked told me that Birthright is ossur because men drive woman in Jeep’s & didn’t like the Zionist places they go to like Her Hertzel etc. PS. I never quote psak from Gedolim in public as most Gedolim or poskim unless they give permission don’t want to be quoted as they pasken for the person asked & therefore everyone should ask his/her Rav before going on a birthright trip.

Many of the Gedolim ossured any Birthright trip including the frum alot of the Zionist places they go to or men driving girls in Jeep’s during the frum girls trip. I went on the frum birthright trip twice once as a participant & once as a staff member & stopped going as on of the mashgichim hador told me it’s issue to go on these trips. The second trip I went on the men’s group & woman’s group stood in the same hotel for part of the trip & some of the men & woman were playing basketball together.

The crisis is that many singles either don’t date good perspective matches or listening to bad advice from freinds instead of Rabbonim or rebbeim whether to break of with perspective matches or not. Who knows how many of the older singles have rejected their basherts for whatever reason.

Even with the best hechsheirim it matters who the mashgiach temidi is. For example if an establishment does something or bring something unauthorized into the store will he call the Vaad or just tell the establishment to remove the item & won’t sanything because is scared of losing his job. A good mashgiach will call the Vaad even if it mean losing his job.

Going on cruise is just like going to Las Vegas since the cruise ships have Casinos & as most people know alot of untznious things happen there to say the least. Therefore in my opinion a it’s only muttar to go on a cruise if you are going for business only. It is 100% ossur to go on a cruise just for vacation.

Also if the waiter/Waitress doesn’t do a good job & you feel they don’t deserve a tip or less of a tip you are mechuyav to tell the Waiter/Waitress that you are not tipping them because of their bad service this way they know why you didn’t tip them & would avoid the chillul Hashem.

I was trying to bring a point that it’s ossur to do anything that causes a chillul Hashem & not tipping waiters at least 15-20% is a big chillul Hashem.

Tipping is not optional if it causes a chillul Hashem & unless you tip the waiter/waitress at least 15-20% it a chillul Hashem if they are not Jewish. I myself think Waiter/Waitress Service is silly as we are not babies & can bring the food to table ourselves but if you patronize a place that offers this service it’s a chillul Hashem not to tip at least 15-20% & if you can’t afford to tip them order the food for pickup & take it home or don’t patronize that establishment

There is a new trend especially in Toronto where people go to one of two cottage areas one that has a minyan & one that doesn’t. The problem is that some families stay in this cottage tthat doesn’t have a minyan for Shabbos. I think if people stay in such a place for Shabbos & it’s because of Shalom Bayis where the wife is the one that wants to go on such a vacation the husband should take his wife to their LOR to ask a shaila if it’s muttar to go on a vacation where they will miss Minyan on Shabbos.

    Re separation of Powers:
John Fortescue (c. 1394–1479) was chief justice of Britain’s high court and his classic In Praise of the Laws of England . Fortescue held there that the English constitution limited the powers of the monarch under the traditional laws of England

in the same way that the powers of the Jewish king in the Mosaic constitution in Deuteronomy are limited by the traditional laws of the Israelite nation. This is in contrast with the Holy Roman Empire of Fortescue’s day, which was supposedly governed by Roman law, and therefore by the maxim that ‘what pleases the prince has the force of law,’ and in contrast with the kings of France, who governed absolutely.

Fortescue laid out “what later tradition would call the separation of powers and the system of checks and balances.” He linked “the character of a nation’s laws and their protection of private property to economic prosperity, arguing that limited government bolsters such prosperity, while an absolute government leads the people to destitution and ruin.” His work, adds Hazony and Haivry

“the belief that through long centuries of experience, and thanks to a powerful ongoing identification with Hebrew Scripture, the English had succeeded in creating a form of government more conducive to human freedom and flourishing than any other known to man.”

the 17th century jurists John Selden,

Hugo Grotious expounded further on this

To the people who think hiding a mental issue may cause someone not to get married. Remember hashem has a bashert for them & if release this information after a third date or whenever your Rav tells you to release this information the perspective will accept it & probably say say it’s ok everyone has something. You should also offer the perspective match to see your psychiatrist to discuss the issue so he/she can see if can handle it or not.

I left out the main point I wanted to say in the previous message I posted which is I was told by one of the biggest poskim in the US that I should not marry anyone that has mood swings because one day she could wake up & want out of the marriage. Mood swings is a major part of Bi Polar disorder.

perspective match was hospitalized in the past because one day the person could wake up & decide they no longer want to be married to me. Bi Polar is a mood swing disorder. The same posek said if someone was hospitalized because got depressed due to a divorce & the person is back to being stablle again could marry that person. The posek also said that you are not allowed to lie to a perspective match especially with age. R Moshe Feinstein ZTL held you have to tell anyone issue you have before you get engaged. Therefore don’t tell the Shadchan & wait at least until a third date before saying because a perspective match who may have said no had he/she been told right away would accept that because now he/she likes you.

To Iacisrmma yesterday I went to a levaya which the Rabbonim said we can’t make hespeidim because there is still the happiness from the chag in this month. These were Chassidish Rabbonim or those who daven sefard. If the MC would have been an Rav who davens Ashkenaz chances are there would have been hespeidim.

To iacisrmmà I didn’t say all people who Daven nisach Ashkenaz say Tachanun but the ones that do it’s definitely not an aveira for them to say hespeidim @ a levaya _ they can say Keil Malei @ davening. Tachanun usually goes hand in hand with hespeidim.

To yekke2 Davening should be the same time as in Yeshiva because if you wake up for the 7:30 Minyan in Yeshiva every day during the Zeman & you daven later you are taking a vacation from Hashem.

    Eli51
    Participant

To Yekke2 People daven three times a day every day so you should daven the same time you would daven when in Yeshiva. Bochurim should learn in Bein Hazmanim as long as they could. Of course if they need to learn a little less to refresh their minds they can take a brake to spend time with family or to help out around the house or sleep a little.

    Eli51

A Bochur should daven Schacharis whatever time he Davens when he is in Yeshiva during the Zeman. If he Davens any later than that he is showing Hashem now that he is off from Yeshiva He is taking a rest from Hashem. I also think that adults should daven Schacharis on Sundays, legal Holidays or any weekday he is off the same time he Davens when he goes to work because if not he is showing Hashem he has vacation from work & from Hashem. It’s crazy how many Adults Daven 6:30 every day when they go to work & those same people are davening @ th
e 9 or 9:30 minyan whey they are off. The 99:00 AM Schacris in my opinion should only be for those that daven @ that time every day or for someone that was traveling overnight & got delayed.
