    mp,

Keep in mind that everything Hashem commanded us is the best thing for us AND for the whole world. Meaning by following His laws we are creating a perfect world and if we dont we are destroying it. (And its not just because one is a mitzvah and the other is an averah.) Hashem gave us those mitzvah and those averahs because these set of rules is exactly what is required for the world to exist. We are the first beneficiary of our deeds because we are closest to it then our families, our city, our country and the whole world gets affected by it.

You mean your friend might not even be aware of this condition? Then the only way to help her figure it out is either by anonymous email or mention to her how it’s important to go for a yearly checkup. Hopefully the doctor will notice it if its actually something.

    600 Kilo Bear,

It’s the other way around… If we would only be more warm to the “freaks” they would learn to be more emotional. People can only become animals when they are away from society not when they are well integrated in it.

    It’s a bit off topic but…

Isn’t the mitzvah of tzitzis to PUT string on OUR 4 corner garment?

Where did we get this idea of creating a new garment specifically for tzitzis? Is it just because we are too busy to tie together new tzitzis every day? Then why dont we create tzitzis with a safety pin on the end so you can quickly attach it to any garment you need every day.

is anyone else besides me a little dismayed that so many frum high school kids are surfing the web, even if it is on jewish sites like this?

Who said they are in high school? Just because they went to one at some point in life?

Uh, call me crazy, but if I were in the principals position, and knew my students were on-line and bragging about being my students, I’d have a problem with that.

Didn’t you ever go to a high school? Aren’t you proud of your school?

Well if there would be such a website or service then no one would want to be a client of such fraudulent company, right?

The only way is for you yourself to figure out what the boss might be doing wrong. Is he forging documents or asking you to lie about anything? Maybe compare it to other similar business.

For most people their inspiration comes from their many problems in life so i hope you don’t wait for those and learn from other peoples Tzoras.

If you see or hear about someone who is unfortunately suffering then concentrate your Tefillas to help that person. It will give your Tefillas a new meaning and hopefully prevent you from similar sufferings.

I heard a kallah may go with her hair as long as she is still wearing a wedding dress and it’s obvious that she just got married. So in practice its the same as saying till the morning.

    The Goq,

This may be the best you can do but if you ask Hashem for help you will be able to do much more. Everyone has a potential to achieve as much as they want as long as put their trust in Hashem. Try saying a tefilla for parnassah right before sending out your resumes and right before going for the interviews.

If you do research about tums and other such meds if i remember correctly they cause more harm in the long run.

If you want to figure out which foods cause it you need to keep a good diary of everything you eat. Many people tried that but if you truly want to figure it out the root of the problem you need to analyze not only what you eat but what you ate before it.

For example: If you are hungry and you eat french fries it may cause a problem but try eating it when you are half way done with your burger and it might just be fine.

    Clark Kent,

Here is the math… 667,477 is the total workers in Brooklyn, out of them 431,559 are the people who reside in Brooklyn. So that means 235,918 is the total numbers of workers that come to Brooklyn for work.

    tumill and shmooze1,

It seems both of you are upset about people carrying outside of the boro park eruv. It’s possible that those people are relying on some type of backup but non of us will ever know where it is. There will always be people who don’t know how to follow rules but that doesn’t posul the whole bp eruv.

I think david1999 did a great job explaining the whole issue about the validity of eruv but i don’t think you can blame david for not including some street into the bp eruv which he didn’t create.

    apushatayid,

I dont understand why people here have the need to nitpick? Are you saying that you do not agree with my statement about halacha going according to majority? Do you have a source that says otherwise?

    popa,

According to you i have a difficult time understanding BM 59b. It seems Rabbi Eliezer was also a great person with very logical proves and he even got Bas Kol on his side but halacha goes by majority opinion.

    popa_bar_abba,

You keep saying cute/annoying things without any real attempt to bring proofs to your side. Sounds like you just want to be right but don’t want to bother with the actual argument.

    His Royal Highness,

Just as a side point but do you realize that anyone sitting in his car or bus/train can’t be counted since they are in their own reshus.

    shmooze1,

And what if i told you that overpass train tracks can be considered as an eruv? (i dont know if it’s actually utilized im just saying)

I think the biggest problem with this issue is that people are very closed minded and are afraid of what others might think. I wanted to sit and learn the halachos of eruv inside but the Rav informed me that no matter what we come out with he will still not allow me to carry. And every issue he explained to me sounded like he was biased towards eruv being a problem and then someone else explained to me the same halachos from a different perspective so it sounded like it’s not problem.

I dont know who is right or who is wrong but i think if there are in fact good mechitzos around brooklyn then it makes a big difference in this argument.

It’s all because there are too many choices. Just like we have a hard time deciding which ice scream we may want today or what to cook for dinner.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to have choices but it’s not good to have a mind set where we are expecting to have more and more choices.

It seems like you cant rely on any computations and have to say it straight because “yesterday was 16” is also obvious but we are allowed to use it. In fact saying “tonight is 6 + 6 * 6” may be confusing to some and may cause errors (notice that i wrote your equation differently and a lot of people have a problem getting the right answer this way).

When we say the number it has to be obvious even to our chinuch age kids.

Based on your few recent posts it sounds like you are recently engaged. Does this person have the same goals as you? Are you comfortable with each others religious level? Do you look forward to seeing him?

If you answered yes to all of those then the rest is up to H’shem. Just daven and remember that at first it may be difficult to get used to a person but dont let silly fights get in the way of your relationship.

Be confident in knowing that you did your hishtadlus and the rest is up to H’shem.

I agree with Mod-80 but i want to add to it.

The difference between Gemaras where “a man who hears cries” and “granary of produce” is that in the first case other people heard that cry also. And some of those people may even have been close enough to determine that those cries were coming from that mans house so we say what happened, happened. But in the case of granary he can still pray until he or anyone else for that matter looks inside since Hashems plan has not been revealed yet.

If boys really cared about looks they would go out with every girl instead of judging her by a motionless picture.

The problem is that once a boy sees a picture of an average girl he will most likely say she is not my type and wont give her a chance. Even though everyone can agree that pictures are not very accurate representation of looks. And yes sometimes a picture might even look better than the person looks on daily basis but sometimes worse either way its not a fair way to judge looks.
