“well why would you want to talk to an MK anyway?”

I agree with you. Rav Elyashev shlit”a said a shomrei Torah U’mitzvos should not enter the Knesset as it is a botei minus.

You probably think a Conservative “synagogue” is “Jewish” too.

Pedestrians ineed have no right to violate the law. No one said otherwise. But if they do, that does not justify drivers from violating the laws and causing injury and death as a result.

He doesn’t have to be “certain”; he can’t risk causing someone to be mechallel Shabbos. Especially such a strong risk.

Even if we grant that it is all (which it isn’t), a driver STILL does not have a right to violate the traffic laws — and kill pedestrians.

2 wrongs don’t make a right. Because some pedestrians jaywalk or violate the law, does not allow drivers to break the law and risk the lives of (other) pedestrians.

WHAT IF you knew with complete 100% certainty that if you put a Buddhist Avoda Zora up and have not frum people bow to it – just once -, within 3 months many of them will become 100% completely frum Shomer Torah U’Mitzvos.

Is it permissible to have them take that little bow? Does the ends justify the means?

Not specifically. Perhaps how much various people value bonim u’bonos. I think how many they *hope* for may be one fair indicator, even if inconclusive.

In addition to all the good reasons mentioned to yield to pedestrians, including most notably life and death, another good reason is because… it is the law.

This entire discussion demontrates that tuition rates even in financially well to do modern orthodox schools are a) negotiated individually with parents rather than uniform rates b) determined based on need and financial ability.

You can’t seperate the kids from the ex. Without the ex, you wouldn’t have those kids. If you regret the marriage, you c”v effectively regret the children that were produced by it.

This is more epidemic. And threatens more lives in city driving. Red light running is just as bad, and too should be cracked down on. Speeding, cell phone, etc. as well.

It is not a matter of delaying the pedestrian for for a few seconds. It is a matter of life and death. This is how accidents happen. (Especially when the driver turns at a high rate of speed.)

A few additional examples are when a driver has a stop sign and fails to yield to pedestrians, or a pedestrian is crossing through a cross-walk that has no traffic signals.

Daas: Since the cholov akum makes the utensils treif (as you’ve said), how does even aino ben yomo help?

How can (some) people who are makpid on only eating CY, not be makpid on the utensils (considering the above issue)?

And are you saying you can eat pareve food made with dairy equipment together WITH your fleishig meal, or only 5 minutes after your fleishig meal?

What is the halachic difference between cholov stam (“d”) and dairy equipment food(“de”)? If someone doesn’t eat CS, they usually are machmir on not eating DE as well?

And can DE be eaten with fleishigs? Or after fleishigs (i.e. before 6 hours but not together with the fleishigs)?

Another question is what are the consequences if someone c”v drops Tefilin? Fasting or tzedaka? And what constitues dropping? If it fell from your hand unto the table? Is it considered a fall if the Tefilin are in a teflin or talis bag?

Why do all geirim fall into the halachic category of zonah, considering a ger is halachicly considered to have been reborn at the time of his conversion (to the point that his birth parents are no longer his parents)?

Another intresting point is that if Baby Reuven is born on 20 Adar Aleph and Baby Shimon is born a few weeks later on 5 Adar Beis, and then 13 years later there is only one Adar, and both Reuven and Shimon commit a death penalty crime on the exact same day of the 15th of Adar, the “older” Reuven is off the hook and free since he is still a minor, while the “younger” Shimon is executed as an adult.
