before i answering lets be clear:In places the Torah forbids a man to cut his facial hair:

“You shall not round off the corner of your head, and you shall not destroy the edge of your beard.” Then in the context of the laws of the Kohanim: “…nor shall they shave the edge of their beard…”

Noting that the Torah uses the Hebrew words for “shaving” and “destruction,” the Gemareh understands that the punishable offense in the Torah is shaving with a razor, in those days the only technique to fully destroy the hair.

How about trimming with a scissors, or otherwise cutting the beard but not achieving a clean shave? Many (starting with the Sefer Hachinuch) understand that the Rambam would consider such an act to be assur but not punishable.

There are halachic authorities (including the Tzemach Tzedek) who teach that, in addition to the issue of destroying the beard, cutting the facial hair of a man has the problem of Lo silbash, which is assur. The Rambam teaches that the reason the Torah forbade the destruction of the beard is because shaving was a practice of ancient idol-worshippers.In addition, Kabbalah attaches great importance to the beard, teaching that the “thirteen locks” of the beard are representative of Hashems thirteen Attributes of Mercy. Growing a beard makes one a beneficiary of the bounty which originates from Hashems compassion.Traditionally, Jews throughout the ages wore beards in order to not even come close transgressing the Torah’s command. This was true in Eastern Europe, where the vast majority of Jews grew full beards until the mid-nineteenth century.
As the winds of “enlightenment” spread to Eastern Europe, many people felt that WEARING A BEARD LABELD THEM AS BACKWARSD AND OLD-FASHIONED. Many Torah leaders, including the Chafetz Chaim, protested this change. Chassidim were in general less swayed by the modernization taking place around them, as is evident in their dress. Therefore, they—for the most part—did not feel compelled to shave their beards. In addition, the Kabbalistic reason mentioned above made the practice of growing a beard much more precious to them.LETS BE CLEAER: BEARDS STOPPED BECAUSE OF THE HASKALAH!!!! ALL GEDOLEM HAVE BEARDS!!!! SO YES!!! CHASSIDEM WANT TO HOLD ON TO THEIR HOLY UNBROCKEN MESORAH, AND WHILE THERE MAY BE HETEREM TO SHAVE, CHASSIDEM ARENT GUNNU TEACH THAT!!!! FOR GOOD REASON!!! WERE TRYING TO HOLD ON TO OUR HEILIGEH MESORAH AND BY MAKING IT CLEAR THIS IS HOW IT IS WE STAY STRONG!! ANI CHOMAH!!!!

I feel like im a little bit of a learned person so mayby i can be of a clarification to the confused. The soul, or neshamah is the self, the “I” that inhabits the body and acts through it.You are not your body.

The neshameh is described as Hashems own breath animating us: “And Hashem breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.”

Evry existence requires a soul to sustain it—a “spark of G‑dliness” . A soul is not just the engine of life; it also embodies the why of a thing’s existence, its meaning and purpose. Yechidah connotes the essence of the soul—its unity with its source, the singular essence of Hashem. For the essence of the soul of man is “literally a part of Hashem above a piece of G‑d in us, so to speak. NOT KFERAH!!!The human neshameh is what sets the human being
above and apart from all other creations, even the angels. The angel may be more spiritual, but the human being is more G‑dly.

A man was arrested Tuesday in an assault on a Chinese American man who was kicked repeatedly in the head in East Harlem, according to our sources.

Jarrod Powell was charged with two counts of felony assault in Friday’s attack on 61-year-old Yao Pan Ma, police said. It wasn’t clear if Powell, 49, had an attorney who could comment on the charges.

Ma was collecting cans when he was attacked from behind, knocked to the ground and kicked in the head. He was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he remained in a coma on Tuesday, officials said.

Surveillance video showing the disgusting attacker kicking Ma and stomping on him, echoing last month’s assault near Times Square in which a Filipina American woman was knocked to the ground and stomped on. A parolee convicted of killing his mother nearly two decades ago was arrested in that attack.

Elected officials and community advocates planned a news conference later Tuesday to announce the creation of a trust fund to assist Ma’s family.

Less than three months after former President Donald Trump left the White House, the race to succeed him atop the Republican Party is already beginning.(the white house chef must make a great kugel!!)

Trump’s former secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, has launched an aggressive schedule, visiting states that will play a pivotal role in the 2024 primaries, and he has signed a contract with Fox News Channel. Mike Pence, Trump’s former vice president who trump doesnt like anymore has started a political advocacy group, finalized a book deal and later this month will give his first speech since leaving office in South Carolina. And Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been courting donors, including in Trump’s backyard, with a prominent speaking slot before the former president at a GOP fundraising retreat dinner that served good food this month at Mar-a-Lago, the Florida resort where Trump now lives.(The resort makes a good kugel!!)

Trump ended his presidency with such a firm grip on Republican voters that party leaders fretted he would freeze the field of potential 2024 candidates, delaying preparations as he teased another run. Instead, many Republicans with national ambitions are openly laying the groundwork for campaigns as Trump continues to mull his own plans.

They’re raising money, making hires and working to bolster their name recognition. The moves reflect both the fervor in the party to reclaim the White House and the reality that mounting a modern presidential campaign is a yearslong endeavor.

“You build the ark before it rains,” said Michael Steel (who must have listened in chumash class) a Republican strategist who worked for Jeb Bush’s presidential 2016 campaign, among others. “They’re going to do the things they need to do if he decides not to run.”

Trump, at least for now, is giving them plenty of leeway, convinced they pose little threat to his own ambitions.

“It’s a free country. Folks can do what they want” Trump adviser Jason Miller said in response to the moves. “But,” he added, “if President Trump does decide to run in 2024, the nomination will be his if you’re paying any attention to public polling of Republican voters.”

Polling does indeed show that Trump remains a commanding figure among GOP voters, despite his loss in November to Democrat Joe Biden.

Florida Sen. Rick Scott, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, last weekend awarded Trump a new “Champion of kugel Award,” which the group publicized — complete with a photo of a smiling, golf-attired Trump holding a piece of kugel.
