I thought they were pretty weird. I think most people would rather a fresh all white bilkela. My young cousin thought it was chocolate flavored til she tasted it!
I used hot tools ceramic iron for years for shabbos and now i use it daily- my hair is not burnt. I think its a great iron.
I am the middle child but I am also the oldest girl. I tend to have all the responsibilities of an oldest, but when the big boys come home for shabbos or yom tov, they get to boss me around!!! But ussually being the oldest one around is the best thing-I don’t have any symptoms of middle-child syndrome even though in birth order thats where I am.
My parents don’t let me use my own money( I’m single but I graduated already) and give me money for whatever I need or if I ask for something I want. I do not feel this has made me less mature in any way(if anything, it makes me think before mentioning I want something-while my friends who use their own $ just spend on whim-as long as they will still have some left for the next time they want something.) I dont karg on my spending, but I do spend my parents money any time I buy something so it just makes me think for one second before handing over the cash.

I never enjoyed babysitting by people that I didn’t know their kids( and especially by total strangers). Therefore, I only did it if there was a real emergency. At those times, I didn’t say a price and let them give what they felt was right. As far as I can remember, I don’t think anyone took advantage-they all gave about 7-10 an hour. Some people(neighbors, aunts…) didn’t pay every time I came for a 1/2 hour- instead they bought me nice gifts for special occasions.(I didn’t need the money because my parents gave me what I needed/wanted and my parents didn’t let me use my own money.)

people in Bp most who are considered heimish are usually people who in their families the men wear bekeshas but dont wear streimels on shabbos. Usually have some chassidishe leanings but not fully affiliated.

My cell phone is a slider and when s/o beeps in it automatically transfers me to that call even if I don’t press a/th!!
It is so annoying and the people don’t understand why I’m frustrated when they call!! If only they knew that they made me hang up on someone more important than them!!!!

We get hamodia daily and think it is very worth it even if they raise the price slightly. Its good to have a CLEAN newspaper with fresh reading material.
A girl got a treated diamond and once when she was cooking the diamond was exposed to too much heat and it changed color/clarity.
Poor Kallah who thought that her diamond was a real beauty til then!
I know a family that calls their grandparents by the names of their kids. For ex: Nechama Bobby or Gedalya Bobby while really these are the names of their single aunts and uncles.

All my grandmothers(2) and great-grandmothers(2) are called Bobby ________(last name). My nephew has nine!! grandmothers, great grandmothers, and great-great grandmothers and he still manages to call all of them Bobby___________ without anyone getting confused.
As for my Uncles and Tantas, they are older so we added the title until we were about 13,14 and then dropped it. My nephew calls his uncles and tantas by their first names because most are very young and can be his playmates.
I know a couple that the wife is older and taller than the husband and they are very happy. Yet, at the beginning. when my parents look into any shidduch, they do inquire about height and weight.
On these long friday nights, me and my sibs play board games after the meal.

Chafetz Chaim- You reminded me of the seder when my brother was one year old and he kept insisting on having “Pizza”. After trying to distract him throughout the seder, we finally reached Motzie Matzah we realized what it was that he wanted when he screamed out “PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!”

I never appreciated wearing uniform until I reached seminary and I have to get dressed up every day. Now, I realize just how mechayadik uniform really is. No headache, No pressure, No wasting time choosing an outfit!!!!
