squeak… thanks! I will see if it helps! I will try to keep that line of communication open …even if it is for one or two word conversations.

I said “helige state of NY and Baltimore”… baltimore is a city, i know. i should have said it “Baltimore and the helige state of NY”…. what I meant was that all the options seem to be for people in those two states. what about people in texas, florida, illinois, ohio, california, missouri and all the other states that jews live in (almost all except montana i think… and maybe utah)?

whoa! what is with all these urban legends about seeing rochel imanu? I mean, everyone hears a different story, with a different twist and nothing is ever found out to be a fact. like that manhatten scare last week….

in reply to: Anger Management Group Therapy #649491

ok, maybe I am a bit paranoid that they are watching me…. can we make this into a general “CR Psychotic disorder” group? I think more people will be helped by this than just me.

The following types are welcome: Are you:

-paranoid that people will find out your sn?

    -lacking in anger management control?

-fearing you have multiple personality disorder?(Common symptom is having more then 1 sn)

-laughing so hard that your coworkers are ready to have you admitted?

Thanks squeak… i might be fan #2….too bad that i already tried finding common ground and something neutral to talk about and she wouldnt continue the conversation… hard to talk when someone is responding in one or two words…

Can I send this person here for therapy? (OH NO-THE DREADED T-WORD) But then they would read this and know I am talking about them…

A man dies and goes to heaven. In front of him was a large wall with clocks, each with a little name on it.

“What are those?” he asked G-d.

“Well, each time someone tells a lie, their clock moves a little bit.”

One was stopped- “That was was Washington’s, the first president of the USA. He almost never lied.”

“So where is Obama’s, our next president?”

“Oh, that one is in my office. I use it as a ceiling fan.”

in reply to: WHY LABEL #631697

Sorry, pressed enter before I finished!

By labeling the container, people tend to look down at every other group. I understand labeling Sephardi or Ashkenazi or Chassidish because that has a lot to do with your parents (or who you married ect). But going beyond that is ridiculous! Without labels, you can “figure a person out” for yourself by talking to them! Immediately certain things become known. Otherwise, people will say “no” before realizing what the person is really all about.

Al Tistakel Bikankan, Elah Bimah Sheyesh Bo….

ok, my transliterations need a little work.

Why are some postings not posted? Why is there such a delay for some and not others? I am not trying to be rude, just very confused. I submitted things in 2 hours ago and they are only just getting on there now, while something else I wrote got on there right away… ? ? ?

in reply to: Help with Powerpoint presentation #631040

Sorry designing- it is different. the problem I faced earlier today is when transfering wordart and some graphics to a powerpoint computer it caused me some slight issues… some do not come through, while others came through perfectly! I happen to not really like the new microsoft so this is great for me… there are some of the same classics and some different ones. I havent had it that long to try all of them, but it will be easier to use if you make it on the same program that you will use and not transfer in between the two, as it might be lost. with the word/writer difference- almost none. inconsequential. You just need to remember to save it in the right formatting. And if you use the new microsoft word, it cant transfer to open office, but the older word programs can.

in reply to: General Shmooze #632030

Wait, moishe and brooklyn are cousins? I thought they were the same person at points! I came on in the morning and there were so many new posts put up….

in reply to: Anger Management Group Therapy #649487

this is serious here: what do I do when someone is provoking my anger? I dont think I have done anything that horrific that this person, who I need to be in close contact with, will not talk to me unless it is to point out one of my problems/errors/mistakes.

I really mean it… I try to smile at them, thank them when they did something nice for me (rare)…someone gave me the advice to do favors for them, as ahava=giving and one gains love by giving to them.

    Any suggestions?

(now, if you are the one doing it, please tell me why anonymously via the CR…it gets kind of weird to think that they may be reading this…)

in reply to: Mods, Who Are Your Favorite Posters? #831819

in reply to: Seating Cards by Weddings/Bar Mitzvos #631021

Some simchas that I have gone to have made interesting arrangements. They had special tables listed as “family X” and family “Y” and several tables blank on each side. That way the rebetzins could sit near each other, planned, as they sat at the table marked “family” (they were told to) and all the family and friends from out of town were able to sit near each other without feeling weird.

The problem with making seating arrangements is that there are only so many seats at a table, and it is weird to have half a table. Many times there are “mixed tables” of different groups. The guest feels weird that the host didnt think about them that highly that they arent seated with so and so…

Shouldnt simchos be a time where we show ahavas chinam and try to befriend different people?

in reply to: Sefer Tehillim Worldwide Daily #1229331

Sent to me via email… as you say your tehilim, you can have in mind a specific name of a soldier fighting!

As the members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) battle Hamas terrorists

and Palestinian militants in Gaza, leading international Torah scholars

have launched a worldwide effort aimed at providing them with spiritual

    support.

“Operation Tefillah, Torah & Troops,” which was launched by Rabbi Simcha

HaCohen Kook, the Chief Rabbi of Rehovot, Israel, and the Bostoner Rebbe

(Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz) of Har Nof, Israel, partners people from

around the world with soldiers in the IDF. Each person who takes part in

“Operation Tefillah, Torah & Troops” is paired with an Israeli soldier, and

is responsible to say tefillot (prayers), learn Torah, and do special acts

of chesed (kindness) on behalf of that soldier.

Rabbi Kook and the Bostoner Rebbe note that this concept is one that has

been a part of the Jewish people for thousands of years. When Moshe

Rabbeinu (Moses) led the Jewish people to war with the nation of Midyon,

for every person who went to battle, there was a designated person who was

responsible for praying and learning for him. Throughout his reign, David

HaMelech (King David) utilized this practice as well. During the war in

Lebanon in the summer of 2006, more than 50,000 people worldwide

participated in this initiative spearheaded by Rabbi Kook and the Bostoner

Rebbe, and facilitated in North America by the National Council of Young

    Israel.

To participate in “Operation Tefillah, Torah & Troops” and receive the name

of an Israeli soldier who needs your prayers,

send an e-mail to the office of Rabbi Kook at [email protected].

To request the name of a soldier by phone or fax, call the

National Council of Young Israel at 212-929-1525 x100,

or send a fax to 212-727-9526.

    BE A PART OF THIS!!

never said I had all the seichel… just had some…. 😉

Um.. do I get partial credit for trying?

wait, there is the killer, the witness (who was there), someone who knows who did it (but not there) and someone innocent…right?

So C is the witness, while B wasnt there. A knows who did it and D is the killer.

in reply to: Our Society And a Developing Crisis #630095

It is a vicious cycle- have many kids so the oldest daughter raises the youngest. She becomes burnt out so by the time she has her own children, she needs the help of her oldest….and around and around we go… but I am not supporting one thing or another. Just ask a rav, talk to your spouse, and KNOW YOURSELF and your limits!

It is so true! I figure, give them low expectations of you.. and i learned this in school… right before the end of the semester do as well as you can and they give you a higher grade for improvement! (but dont be failing the whole semester…just not killing yourself)

We are old pals <wink> <wink>, right squeak? Hmm… how to describe you… hmm.

Height: taller then I am (I have always looked up to you, right?)

weight: ? I dont think you want me to list this… for your sake I will leave it out…

    hair: still there

and on shabbos you wear dark clothes, right?

I think that sums you up, pretty much… and no, you dont wear a blue striped suit with a bow tie.
