It’s very simple. As maaminim Bnei maaminim we know that if there is a true danger it must be a message from Hashem. He must be telling us to change our ways. It is very difficult to digest such a message. It’s much easier to say that it’s all one big hoax and conspiracy

    Refuah Shelaima to your son.
I would like to raise a few points:
    1) Aggression and tantrums aren’t symptoms of OCD. Do you notice anxieties, rumination, and other known OCD symptoms.
    2) It is wise to be wary of baalei shita, people who are quick to attribute any symptom to their pet diagnosis. I don’t know who this doctor is and she probably is very smart and well meaning. However, it’s wise to be cautious
of something that’s not accepted by the wider medical community.
    3) CBT and ERP, though difficult, are well researched treatments. A good psychologist is needed and may be hard to find. However, they are known to be successful. Hatzlacha

it’s because goyim close the buttons so it’s probably chukos hagoy. furtheremore in the early 1500’s there was a cult of apikursim known as the sogrimchultzosim who’s symbol was a closed sleeve button. all the gedolim were mesaken to open all your shirt buttons. then someone was meorrer that there is a lack of tznius to open all your shirt buttons so only sleeve buttons were left open.

in all seriousnes people just want to give posters here something to talk about.

Nice try Sam but the word Chata’im is plural for chait. See Yom Kippur Davening “Ana Bashem Selach..La’chataim”. In that context it clearly refers to sins not habitual sinners.

” ‘avhaben: Collecting Tzedaka for a Yeshiva is a Mitzvah Rabba that should never be given up. ‘

But this is giving. Collecting Tzedakeh is bigger then giving??”

The Gemara says that greater than the one who gives is the one who collects. Yes, collecting is greater than giving.

“One of Popa’s brothers first went collecting when he was 19. He went to a city with a friend and profited about about $2300 in 5 days. They weren’t an outstanding pair either. Most of those pairs from that school make between 2500 and 3000. I wouldn’t blame Popa’s brother for under-producing because all the big names were crossed out so that the “professionals” could speak to them.”

C’mon give the “professionals” a break they don’t pay tuition either.

    chevraman,

as a bachur that participated in a SEED program in FL last summer I can honestly say that the Pritzus was not nearly as bad as it’s made out to be. Don’t stay near the beach area, travel around in groups, and go with good guys. You’ll be fine. I honestly did not see much of a difference between Fl and NY in terms of pritzus levels. Stop overreacting, driving a convertible around is at worst a little childish.

Another point. writersoul maybe you should ask the baalei batim that spend money to bring SEED to their communities. They definitely feel it’s worth it.

segula for all other segulos to work:wake up at alos hashachar every morning for about three weeks and four days. Every morning jog around your city whilr reciting the entire sefer tehillim baal peh at least three times. Then kiss your aravos that you saved from succos seven years ago and the matzah saved from pesach thirteen years ago. Then and only then you should paint your face black with yellow stripes across and walk to work while saying “Ani Pesi”.

Or you could find segulos that are actually brought down in seforim. or better yet, DAVEN TO HASHEM, he loves us and is always listening.

Are you drunk.maybe you had too many shots at a sheva berachos, vort ,bar, or shtiebel. There is limitless potential in all that we do. Rules help us reach those lofty goals and soar to the clouds above. If you don’t abide by all the rules you won’t be able to soar to the cloads. they won’t let you on the plane.

The same chazal that faulted the chashmonaim for making a treaty with rome and ttaking over the kingdom also considered them to be great tzadikim. Just because they were true tzadikim, much bigger tzadikim than anyone here will ever become, doesn’t mean they didn’t have faults. also, a few faults doesn’t make someone not a tzadik.

Herod was a slave to the Chashmonaim and he killed his masters, he wasn’t a chashmonai.

The torah holds of kanaus, if it’s done properly for the right reasons. spitting on little girls isn’t proper and probably wasn’t for the right reasons
