These organizations don’t have offices in the USA raising funds for them. Donations to foreign entities are not tax deductible.
What exist in the USA are fundraising organizations such as “American Friends of Yeshiva Aleph, Bais, Gimmel” which are 501(c)(3) non profit charitable organizations. Donations to the 501s are tax deductible.
RY Haim Yankel of the above Yeshiva is listed for a candidate with that attribution, not as President of the 501.More more than 40 years I have supported Kiryat Sanz Laniado Hospital by donating to the American Friends of the same, If I contributed directly to the hospital I would lose the tax deduction. So, I take advantage of the tax laws and increase my planned donation by the tax bracket I am in.
As we say in the law, the question is moot.

The manufacturers don’t make bags just for NYC.
I buy black for garbage going into my trash cans for pick up or to take to the town transfer station.
I buy white in the tall kitchen size for the cans in our kitchens and in the smaller size to line bedroom waste baskets. These get collected into a large black bag on trash night each week and put into the cans that go to the curb.
The white bags are not as thick as the black and would not hold up with a 33 gallon load.BTW, they also make RED bags which is for medical waste.
Our town requires these not just for medical offices, but currently for the trash from any home with a confirmed Covid-19 patient. They don’t get mixed in the general trash. There is a storage trailer at the transfer station and it is held 14 days after it is full before processing for disposal@SamKlein

I have voted absentee for many years, as I am an Asst. Registrar of Voters and work at a polling location not my own.There are approx 26,000 registered voters in Town. 7,000 absentee ballots were requested and as of yesterday, 5,000 had been returned.
That means 19,000 voters have chosen to either vote in person or not vote this election.I have never used the term conspiracy theory, don’t attribute it to me, that’s a FALSE claim
Back when I was too young for Medicare, I posted the ACA cost me less. That was NOT why I loved it.
I loved it because the previous lifetime cap of $1 million no longer existed and Mrs. CTL had more than $2 Million in covered expenses in 2016.
I loved it because our then under 26 year old daughter stayed on our policy’

I have been an Asst Registrar of Voters for many years, voter fraud is extremely rare. If you are concerned about mail in ballots not being received on time, blame Trump and his vile Postmaster General appointee who has slowed down mail delivery and removed sorting machines.
Last spring during the height of the Pandemic we hosted our eldest grandsons’ wedding in our gardens. It complied with the state maximum outdoor social gathering rules. There was prerecorded music but no dancing, EVERY attendee wore a mask, social distancing was observed. Only those family members living in the CTL compound since early March were in attendance. The Kallah and immediate family arrived and stayed on the block 14 days before the ceremony and were tested (negative results) the morning of the marriage.
No outside catering help entered the premises, flowers, food, linens, etc were delivered to our driveway by contactless delivery and the younger members of the family did the schlepping and setting up. They also helped serve and cleaned everything up afterwards.
It was truly a family affair. The 125 maximum made for an intimate wedding.
This is not the first wedding we have made on our grounds, two of our daughters were married here, albeit without covid restrictions, and as a Justice of the Peace I have performed non-Jewish weddings here as well.
The couple is not interested in a large party in the future when that type of social gathering is possible. This size wedding actually allowed them to interact with all of the guests, something that doesn’t happen in weddings of 300-1000 guestsThe property in the Laurentians was a failed ski resort I bought in August 1972. It has been updated over the years. There is a main house and a number of 3 and 4 bedroom chalets. The lodge/dining room is suitable for a small school/shul. We’d be happy to have your family join us.

CTLawyer comes from a state where we don’t elect judges (excluding probate). They are recommended by the Bar association, appointed by the givernor and approved by the legislature.
They have a mandatory retirement age of 70.
they don’t have to kowtow to politicians to be chosen as a candidate, they don’t have to canpaign for office. they can afford to take a few years working for much less money than they make in private practice to serve the public good, because they can and often do return to private practice after leaving the bench.
The first change I’d like to see in the Federal Court system is to have term limits, no more lifetime appointments.
I’ve not posted one word about Federal judges being of either party. It’s about qualifications. I have great respect for some conservative judges and disdain for others. The same for liberal judges.

I posted over a month ago that I would not get involved in any of this CR back and forth about the election, as no one will be changing their minds based on the comments here.
My absentee ballot arrived today in the mail (they were mailed on 10/2 in my Connecticut town). I voted and have already deposited in the collection box at Town Hall.
I voted Biden.
I expect he will win my state.
Most of the arguing here is useless, as Biden will win CT, NY and NJ.Most members of the CR don’t live or vote in states that Trump may win.
I will make my comments about the election after voting has ended and the counts are in.
And, I don’t expect the voter fraud that the fool in the White House predicts. He is looking for any excuse fir being beatenI have voted by mail for over 40 years, why should I change now?
I serve as Asst. Registrar of Voters in my town on election day (not at my [polling location) so am qualified for an absentee ballot under CT’s strict rules (in all other years but this).Today, Town Clerks in CT can start mailing ballots to those who applied for absentee ballots. I expect ours will arrive tomorrow, My family will fill them out, sign and seal the envelopes and I’ll drive to Town Hall or the Police HQ and deposit them in the Ballot collection boxes.
I’ll not entrust them to the poorly run USPS to make timely delivery.
On Primary Day in August, I supervised Absentee Ballot counting. CT requires the ballots arrive on or before election day. We started at noon and finished at midnight.
Based on the number of applications for absentee ballots received, we trained/engaged three times the number of ballot counters we had on primary day.
I expect we’ll finish in about the same amount of time.As for BLM rallies, I attended one on the Town Hall green in our little town many months ago. There was total social distancing with spaces marked on the lawn and small family areas roped off. No one was permitted in the area unless wearing a mask. The organizers has booths set up at the entry to provide free masks and hand sanitizer if anyone needed them.
Approximately 1% of the town;s population showed up, There were 90 minutes of interesting speeches, all were orderly, and all wore masks. Water bottles were made available on the hot afternoon at no charge. I stayed after the rally to help clean up, but not one bottle or cap was left behind.
Since then, BLM rallies in town have been Virtual, because we have a 100 person outdoor event limit in effect.I have nothing to apologize for…………………………

I would have turned and walked out and spent my money elsewhere.I don’t know where you are located, but here in CT not wearing a mask in a retail store (employees and customers excluding small children) can bring a $1000 fine. Repeated violations by staff can lead to the store being closed by the authorities.
I will also assume that the customers were not social distancing, the store was too crowded to allow 6 foot separation, they allowed multiple members of a family to enter and shop together, there was no employee at the door counting those entering and leaving to ensure the leagl reduced occupancy was not exceeded and they think they are above the civil law.

I grew up in a large city whose BOE is NOT elected.
Boards of Education hire the Superintendent, but do not micromanage the schools. Superintendents are generally contract employees and tend to outlast the terms of the BOE.
Our town’s new Superintendent has a three year contract, the BOE is elected for a two year term. The term is up in 2021, the Super will be here until at least 2023.BTW, our BOE is split 1/2 R, 1/2 D

We have been very satisfied with Maytag. Currently have six sets in the compound, with all the grandchildren, etc here since March, they have had a workout.
We bought the house behind us about 6 months ago. There was a three year old LG Pair. My niece hated them and we’ve replaced with Maytag.
Until 2 years ago, always bought Gas dryers, they usually cost $100 more than electric, but dry faster and gas is cheaper than electricity. But since we have installed solar on our home and the house next to us that was MIL’s (2 3 BR units) we ave been buying electric appliances and water heaters and letting the sun power them for next to no cost.

The Republican Party has changed greatly in my adult lifetime. Gone are the northeast liberal wing (Rockefeller, Keating, Lindsay, Weicker, etc). It was hijacked to the right by the evangelicals (Moral Majority) and the gun toting white supremacists. Today they leave no room in the party for differing viewpoints.
I sit on a Democratic Town Committee, which doesn’t lean to the left. Most don;t support, women’s abortion rights, school vouchers, forcing low income housing into the suburbs, affirmative action. 100% support a national health plan, social security, medicare, medicaid, SNAP, WIC, DACA.Many members had parents or grandparents who arrived illegally and made a life in the US, but as white Europeans, it was easier yo pass., marry a citizen and remain.

Besides Jewish organizations, I donate to our local Volunteer Fire Company, EMS, Food Pantry, Senior Services, College Scholarships for the poor, The local Catholic Hospital that saved Mrs, CTL’s life and where some of our grandchildren were born.If you were to take a poll of the 70 some odd members of my Democratic Town Committee, you would be hard pressed to find more than a dozen who have ever given a nickel to support abortion. The vast majority are Catholics whom oppose abortion, but don’t believe their religious beliefs should be civil law.

I have no idea what a ‘case threat is’ and who got too harsh of a sentence.

I don’t believe that the sole purpose of prison is to re-educate and make the prisoner ready to re-enter society. I believe a prison sentence should be punishment for having committed a crime.
