Would you get a favorable impression of their religion (חס ושלום) if someone returned 98k found in a desk?
When a couple of creative kids come up with a good costume and complement it with very funny props, that’s not anti-Semitism, it’s a good sense of humor.
When a frum politician wears blackface on Purim, is that also just a good sense of humor?
You might be making (a) good point(s) here, and I’m just not getting it (them) from lack of appreciating your examples. I’m not sure. I definitely do agree with your last sentence.

Every animal needs shechita and bedika, then melichah/hadachah, and needs special packaging and/or transport to ensure integrity.
All of this is not true for milk.
November 2, 2017 12:56 pm at 12:56 pm in reply to: Why does Cholov Yisroel milk cost so much? #1394485☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhy can’t cholov yisroel be like kosher Coca Cola?
Kosher Cocal Cola isn’t a special run, and they don’t even have a mashgiach temidi.
A lot more Coca Cola is produced than CY milk. The cost per bottle to certify Coca Cola is negligible (they probably charge the exact same price per bottle as they would if there were no certification), but that’s not the case for CY milk.
Also, I’m curious as to how much you think CY milk costs. I very rarely pay more than $2.50, and sometimes pay as little as $2 for a half gallon.
Should I post a picture?

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t.
And that is above board.
Maybe if it’s a volunteer. Not if it’s a professional telemarketer.
That’s not to say it’s g’neivas daas, which is a technical halachic term, and I’m not qualified to determine that.
It’s just a bit shady, in my opinion.

He’s wrong. I’ve gotten it from telemarketers collecting for mosdos.
what difference does it make whether it’s their number or someone else’s number?
If I think it might be my child’s friend, etc., I would answer. If I would know it’s a telemarketer, I wouldn’t.
The newest trick from the secular telemarketers is to spoof a local number in your exchange.
This I have only seen by secular telemarketers.

☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhere did I write that the first Rav wasn’t sensitive to emotional realities?
You actually even quoted yourself saying that a few posts back.
“Look for a Rav who is both grounded in halacha and sensitive to emotional realities.”
I know, you’re going to say that you didn’t actually say that the first rav wasn’t sensitive to emotional realities. And that’s technically true. But you are missing how your posts are coming across.
I’m sorry if you think I’m attacking you and making false accusations against you. That’s not my intent.
You can choose to insist that you very carefully wrote disclaimers at every turn, but think about why you need to write all these disclaimers – because you realize that it sounds like you’re saying that the first rav was wrong, but you know you can’t say that, so you’re disclaiming that.
But it still sounds that way.
The same is true with a few points in this discussion; that’s an example.
I’m sorry that I’ve hurt your feelings. Again, that certainly wasn’t my intent.

☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantLet’s say for argument’s sake it’s purely an advice issue. Who says the first’s rav’s advice needs second guessing?
You seem to assume that anyone going through a tough time needs to be meikil. That may very well be true in some cases, but may very well be damaging in others. Perhaps long term, some individuals may be better off holding fast to their standards, rather than slacking off and feeling as if they was too weak and caved in.
It’s not something you and I should be opining, or opining that he should be second guessing the rav to whom he first asked the shailah.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAnd I did not express any opinion on chalav stam.
You wrote:
According to the way the OP described his Rav’s response, this does not seem to be a halachic question per se’. It is muttar to drink/eat chalav stam and the Rav whom he asked did not say that it’s assur for him to do so.
