@mrbro
Did you read what they did at the train station? Maybe they need to be reprogrammed and brought into the modern world where you don’t hack old ladies to death because you’re having a dispute with her government.KuvultParticipantFor me its because I read a little about it and don’t know who to believe. I do know a group of them traveled (besides other terror attacks) to interior China far from where they lived and using knives INA train station hacked men, women and children killing and maiming many. Its hard to ask for help based on moral grounds after doing that. Perhaps China trying to knock the extremism which includes violence against innocent civilians is not such a bad thing (though the methods may be to rough).

A Chabad house.January 4, 2022 1:06 am at 1:06 am in reply to: Is the enthusiastic sholom aleichem a new thing? #2047909KuvultParticipantWhere I come from if your Rebbe pats your back it’s called a “Tzitzis Check”
January 3, 2022 12:57 pm at 12:57 pm in reply to: Khaled the Shabbos goy and the terrible bloodlibel lie #2047729KuvultParticipantIt must be tough going through life thinking everyone hates you. I know if I had nothing against people and they kept believing I hated them that would cause me to not like them as in a self-fulling prophecy.
I and my family have many non-Jewish friends.
My mother taught me to act like a Mensch and treat everyone like a Mensch. Try it, you may just be pleasantly surprised.KuvultParticipantMy Rav said due to it being questionable what to do it’s better not to greet or return a greeting on Shabbos. When I told him it comes off rude not answering and besides it creates feelings of shalom, achdus and community to greet each other. He said never the less due to the shailah it’s better not to greet
KuvultParticipantYou haven’t lived til you’ve had my Mother’s Southern Ribs on Yom Tov.
KuvultParticipantPeople hate to hear it but its true. Dying Al Kiddush Hashem is only when a person had a choice like converting and choosing not to. Since during the Holocaust Jews were targeted for their race, contrary to what people always say, they were not killed Al Kiddush Hashem.
KuvultParticipantI don’t know about Charedim but it’s a well known “Secret” in the non-orthodox and Modern Orthodox that many girls get nose jobs in high school. It’s not that their noses are so big (some are) but because of the whole Jewish and big noses thing they’re overly sensitive. No one admits to having a nose job they were all getting a “Deviated Septum” fixed and while already being worked on the Doctor fixes their nose.
November 28, 2021 7:22 pm at 7:22 pm in reply to: what is the cause of income inequality in the jewish commnuity? #2035332KuvultParticipantThis is why the situation in Baltimore is different. This is from an interview with Rav Ruderman ztl.
RR: College gives a person parnoseh. We find that our boys stay with learning longer this way. They don’t have to kill
themselves for a job. In Lakewood, the boys didn’t go to college. But if they don’t do well in business, than all is
lost, for they have nothing else and often don’t have enough time. Anyway, in business, you have less time to learn
than if you’re a professional. Many baal habatim didn’t go to college and they feel frustrated. If you have a
profession you have more time for learning. In rabbonus…well there are less good positions in rabbonus and for
rebbes in schools. We also find that the parents want college…sometimes more than the bochurim. Rav Moshe told
me — no job, no sholom bayis (peace in the household)KuvultParticipantMaryland has a Frum delegate in the State House.
Dalya Attar graduated Bais Yaakov then became a Lawyer.November 22, 2021 1:08 pm at 1:08 pm in reply to: Chasimas Hatalmud: How did it come about? #2032078KuvultParticipantI heard a shiur on this from an expert. He said Baal Peh never meant it couldn’t be written down. It meant it couldn’t be published. The Amoraim could and did write notes on what they were learning (just like students today, some less, some more). When it came time to officially publish it, the notes from various Rabbonim were put together to make one standardized copy.

KuvultParticipantMy sons Jewish name is “Aron Dovid” His Non-Jewish name is “Mendel Lipa”
KuvultParticipantWill Antisemites have to stop telling Jews to “Pick up the pennies”?
KuvultParticipantOnly consider Baltimore if you believe in not judging a person based on their hat (or no hat), clothes, where they Daven or where they send their kids to school but by whether or not they’re a Mensch.
November 9, 2021 9:11 pm at 9:11 pm in reply to: Klal Yisroel Needs an Official Central Yichus Registry #2026469KuvultParticipantIt will never work. Who gets to decide if someone like Ivanka is Jewish? There’s a bigger world than just Charedim.
You’ll also fan the flames of the Non-Orthodox saying, “You see the Orthodox don’t consider us Jews”
Its also wrong to assume across the board non-frum aren’t Jewish. I live in a major Jewish community and Jews married Jews both from here, often related. The intermarriage rate here is 20%. Assuming 10% are women and also Jewish men who marry a Gentile often leave the community, probably 95% of people claiming to be Jews here actually are. To assume their Non-Jewish is both false and highly insulting.KuvultParticipantMy family Farbrengs to very hard rock. We believe in elevating Non-jewish music and infusing it with Kedusha. Besides it sounds really great.

KuvultParticipantA KGB agent walks up to a Jew and says, “Why are you learning Hebrew, we’ll never let you leave.” The man says, “Oh no, I’m learning Hebrew so when I get to heaven I’ll be able to talk to people.” The agent says, “And what if you go to hell?” The man replies, “I already speak Russian.”
KuvultParticipantWhen I was a kid they were regular yellow. Now they’re red.
KuvultParticipantWhen will Chasidim wear long pants? Their short pants are a distraction to many.
KuvultParticipantHow about you mind you own business?
Ever hear the story about the Rebbe and Talmid in the street and an untznius woman walked by? The Talmud ran and put his face against the wall while the Rebbe kept walking. The Talmid came back and asked his Rebbe how he could keep walking. The Rebbe said, “Better to see an untznius woman and think about a wall than to see a wall and think about an untznius woman.”
