Try reading the words as they come up as you are driving. “Stay in lane”, makes perfect sense.

Toi- Regarding scotch being the yummiest bear in mind that we all have different tastes and therefore the yummiest to each of us may differ. I also prefer scotch but my son in law says bourbon is better. I tell him he is entitled to his opinion no matter how wrong it might be.

I know some women who work in a lunchroom/cafeteria in Yeshivos. Should this be viewed as a problem (if someone is hungry, what should they do). Many of these women are mothers of bochurim helping pay the tuition by working. Where is the problem.

Yoyo–Thats a hard one. Probabely get many differing opinions on that. Some with religious connotations, others with psychlogical. I think you would have to find a ‘Yosef Hatzadik’ on this one.

I agree with WIY. A body, even a dead one is still Tzelem Elokim so show some respect. Another far fetched thought I have is maybe since death is “mechaper” then they have been absolved of their sins.

I dont disagree with you . How many times in life do things not work out as we wished when dealing with other people. So wer try not to have to deal with that person again, but that doesnt keep us from still dealing with others.

True chesed is in the heart which is the emotions department, not the logic department. You have to keep a smile on your face even when you feel that you have been “ABUSED”, you’re making points upstairs for the mitzvah. The next time you feel it would put you in an uncomfortable position let someone else do it, but when the chessed is being done by you, let the recipient feel that they are cared about because thats really what its all about.

Sometimes I wonder if this is the same Judaism I grew up on. What is the difference what color the shirt. Is it clean, neat, matching your other clothing, etc.seem to be more of a concern. When I was a child I remember Rabbonim wearing brown suits and hats also. Were they renagades. I think not. Judge the book noy by its cover.

“Drinking lowers our inhibitions”. Yes but it also can help one fall asleep. It can also have ‘medicinal qualities’. Like anything else it depends how it is used and in what quantity.

apushatayid–we all realize the ribbono shel olam is the source of all bracha yet we all engage in hishtadlus and then leave the outcome to him. If this good rabbi has a track record of helping thru his brachos then consider that the hishtadlus and of course if successful the ribbono shel olam gets the credit and the rabbi gets an assist.

would it be ok to marry a painter, writer, doctor, banker , accountant, photographer or any other profession you want to name. Every type of profession has its pitfalls, staying away from those pitfalls requires a person of integrity. Find such a person and all will be ok regardless of profession.

I think you hit the nail on the head in the question. It most certainly is a case of showing hakoras hatov and I don’t beleive there is anything halachicly problematic with it.

    bpt

you are right about g-d being removed, but that was for people who did not beleive. When g-d was in the pledge it was non denominational so there was also not a problem.
