If the virus can be eliminated with just 99% of the population receiving the vaccine then I don’t think we should force people to take it by keeping their kids out of school. This is different from the standard vaccines in that other disease seem not to be eliminated even though there is basically herd immunity.

I’ve spoken to many people, read a lot of Jewish sites and this is what I came out with.
1) Corona is a hoax by the dems to mess up trump.
2) it’s ok because the goyim also don’t follow the rules.
3) I’m not scared.
4) I heard that there was a study somewhere that kids don’t transfer it.
5) you’re just anti-minyan.
6) I heard a story that an askan was in a pizza shop Motzei pesach.
7) you’re really worried?
8) more people die in car crashes/ we don’t shut down for flu.
9) I didn’t follow the rules till now so now I have antibodies and can continue not following the rules.
10) The economy will collapse, so to save it I decided to let my kid play in the neighbors house.
This is funny. He’s not being investigated for using the treatment. Just for claiming it was tested in an FDA approved study, which it wasn’t. So you don’t have to cry anti-trumpism. And the investigation didn’t even start because he was in the news, just because of a wrong email address accident.
And it doesn’t seem like a serious investigation, so you don’t have to panic.May 13, 2020 11:44 pm at 11:44 pm in reply to: What is EY doing in fighting Covi-19 that NYC can learn from” #1860554
1) Israel’s population is much more spread out then NYC’s is.
2) Israel locked down much faster.
3) coronavirus hotels.
4) since the 9 million people are separated into different cities, less tests are required for widespread testing in just hotspots.
Thanks Joseph, I forgot to do that.
I’ve been using google voice over WiFi for 4 kids conferences and haven’t been charged. I’m not sure what charges you’re referring to. As I said, if you turn on the WiFi setting it will be free.
Joseph, I live in Lakewood and there are issues with phone service in the morning because the providers get overloaded. If you use google voice which is over the internet you don’t have so many issues.
There is a setting for “use WiFi And data only” so that your provider won’t charge you. I don’t know the technicalities, just that it works.May 10, 2020 1:08 pm at 1:08 pm in reply to: Zoom VS Teleconference, please rate your experience. #1859101
Joseph, I don’t know if this is what sariray was referring to, but there’s a kosher tech company called kphone selling a Zoom only tablet.
As an aside it is possible to lock an iPad to a specific app with a password.May 8, 2020 5:58 pm at 5:58 pm in reply to: Zoom VS Teleconference, please rate your experience. #1858880
I use the phone and Zoom with different chavrusos and Zoom is definitely easier to communicate with. Besides for the obvious reason that you can see the other guy, the audio is a lot clearer. It seems audio in general works better over the internet than a standard phone line be because Google Voice is also very clear.
So kids would definitely learn better if using video conferences, but if someone doesn’t want his kids using technology it’s probably not worth it, because once kids get used to it they will probably be more attracted to it after this is all over.
Read this 5 times, if you still don’t understand then read it again.
“is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside”
Ok, now I assume you realize that trump did suggest to a scientist trying to inject cleaning supplies.
For those who agree with the above but think it’s ok to inject Lysol into yourself, have a good day.
I think I’m done here. It was definitely entertaining to see how far pro-trump blindness can go. Lol
Joseph, I think you missed my boat.May 6, 2020 4:55 pm at 4:55 pm in reply to: Lawsuit in NJ to force the state to allow worship service #1857871
The government should not be able to decide when a Certain part of a religion is important. It is up to the members of that religion to decide that. I do believe we should not be starting regular minyanim, but I also believe that the government should not be deciding that.
In a house the rules are usually something along the lines of “don’t do a,b and c, otherwise do what you want. In a school everything the child does is because an adult told him to.
Although you went totally off topic, I looked up that article and I’m surprised that you would reference that. The authors calculation started from 1988 when trump was worth a billion dollars (assuming the article has the right numbers). But it doesn’t even mention that trump managed to grow his first one/few million dollars into that billion. But aside from that you’re right. Trump is a terrible business man.
I read his “art of the deal”, and aside from the amazing amount of gaiva displayed there, I noticed that he seems to be terrified of anything he can’t control, an example of that being the stock market. (And Corona). That would explain why he always stuck to “deals” which he has a decent track record of successes.
I don’t think you understand how kids work. They simply don’t like being told what to do, just like most adults. At home they are basically free to do what they want within the house. In school there is a rule for everything.
What part of the following is not a man asking/telling a doctor if injecting bleach/Purcell/etc will kill a disease?
“And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that“
if I walk into the doctors office and ask him if injecting bleach into my arm/any other body part will cure my strep, he would think I’m crazy. So why is trump any different? Just because a liar says something, it doesn’t prove it not true. You have to investigate for yourself if it’s actually true or not. From the comments posted here it seems that many posters did not bother watching the video or even see the transcript before explaining what trump meant. Which is just plain stupid.
I think it’s because blue states are usually have more crowded urban areas. In general, crowded areas tend to get hit worse, like Bnei Brak and the lower income areas in New York.
And just by the way, the states lifting restrictions now contrary to what the whitehouse recommended doing, are red states.
Ok e/1 I dont get wat ur prob is. If peeps get wat u mean y woud u waste time riting normaly? Only reason I kno of is bec spell check gets anoying wen it trys 2 fix wat u rote. But usuly riting like this is a/w much easier.
Good question. I do know that the anti-vaxxers that I know don’t really believe in social distancing and only do it a little bit in order to satisfy the public.
I already posted the transcript earlier. I also watched the video. Why can’t you guys just face it, before trump made his comments, if you would’ve heard someone saying those things you would have called him a crackpot, now it actually makes perfect sense.
Ok, I think I’m done here unless I see a point that makes half sense.
I do not get my news from nonjewish sites. That’s why after seeing trump make the bleach comments I was amazed that none of the Jewish sites really mentioned It.
But on a separate topic, I don’t understand what you said by “ I stand by my point that you are unwittingly playing into the hands of of truly evil people that hate us passionately.” Why do you think you are any better than them? They report the facts that play into their agenda and you apparently do the same thing. If I saw trump saying something crazy on video why don’t you like that I wrote about it? Is it true that trump said it or not? They report the facts that they like and you only allow reporting facts that you like. So please explain to me, what’s the difference? Is it that you think your opinions are better?
Unfortunately the topic of this thread is president Trumps comments, not the media’s bias. If you would like to talk about the media maybe start a separate thread on that topic.
There is a clear video which was not faked, showing trump saying something which undeniably sounds like something a crackpot may have said. Therefore I asked how diehard Trump fans are dealing with it. That doesn’t mean I generally agree with MSM.
I am unsure what prompted your diatribe about MSM.
No, he didn’t say anyone should do it, and I never said that he did. But the fact that he spoke about putting bleach into people shows that there is something off with the way he is thinking. If you can’t understand that, then maybe you’ve been reading the Yated and listening to Rush Limbaugh a little too much. I watched the video. It’s very clear that he was suggesting that we look into putting cleaning agents into people.
People who are in a sane frame of mind do not say that the doctors should look into putting disinfectant into people. And again, reading the transcript is a start, but it still doesn’t give you the ful picture. Go watch the video and then come back to tell me that trump wasn’t seriously suggesting that it might work.
Think three times before you reply to this. If you realize your mistake you don’t have to admit you were wrong, just don’t answer.
wow. a whole bunch cynical people. get a life. philosopher feels that something helped him, so he decided to pass on the info. eating garlic will not hurt anyone. if you want to attack someone there are other more controversial posts in the CR.
You wanted to know why Dr. Zelenko prescribed zythromycin. I told you why he does it. What was wrong with that?
The transcript: “A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?”
“And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.”
He later clarified his bleach statements: “It wouldn’t be through injections, almost a cleaning and sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work, but it certainly has a big effect if it’s on a stationary object.”
Ok, so Kollelman, he actually spoke about the UV light at this press briefing. And I didn’t ask my doctor if he could somehow get Lysol into me. I hope you didn’t.
Akuperma, unfortunately his comments were stated very seriously. I wonder if you watched the video yourself?
Redleg and Coffee Addict, he sounded pretty serious, are you sure you watched the whole video? And again, I didn’t think about such things.
1, I have to agree, but I don’t call people who like trump for that reason diehard fans.
Milhouse, you went from “ He did NOT suggest in any way that people should drink it or inject it.” to “in fact there ARE studies going on about the internal use of UV light for precisely that purpose.” And I don’t understand. What are the studies on, bleach or UV lights? The news lying other times is not proof that they are lying now. I saw him say it on video. Unless the video is fake?
Daya Zogger, but I saw it on video. Was it faked?
Rabbi Greenspan, so…. I should use a spray instead? I think you also may have snapped.May 1, 2020 12:25 am at 12:25 am in reply to: Did KJ have less Covid Deaths Thanks to Dr. Zelenko? #1855682
I believe Dr. Zelenko said last week that he has seen 1650 patients, and 405 of them fit into his at-risk criteria and were treated with his regimen. Of those 405 there 2 deaths plus about 6 hospitalizations.
Health, I am not dr. Zelenko, I’ve never seen the man.
I don’t have any agenda, I’m just practicing common sense. It’s not even because of trump. I don’t believe in shooting uv-rays at people. I don’t even believe we should be pouring bleach on anyone.
Health, azythromycin is to help for pneumonia which is often caused by and worsens the symptoms of coronavirus.
Milhouse , thank you for explaining. If it seems Very likely that HCQ helps, and none of those 405 people had heart attacks (dr z said in the beginning that about 10% experienced nausea) then it would probably be a very good idea to try this until we have something better.
If remdesvir is working then we should do that, but why the automatic complete dismissal of a drug which seems To be working Just because it wasn’t scientifically proven yet?
I think it’s even scientific to say, correct me if I’m wrong, that if HCQ didn’t kill any of Zelenkos patients then it probably won’t kill everybody else if taken at the same dose.
Life can be boring.
““Here’s a question to ask yourself, if we gave anyone who asked for it hydroxychloroquine, and then the amount of deaths fell by 50% would you say that it works or would you say that there’s still no evidence that it works because there was no control group etc. ?”
“anyone” is a lot of people. And there WOULD be a control group. you said “deaths fell by 50%” compared to what? whatever the answer to that question is THAT is the control.”
There was no control group at all.
Anyone = every single Homo Sapiens that’s interested in popping one of those HCQ pills. in my case about half the country.
It fell by 50% compared to the day before.
Here’s a question to ask yourself, if we gave anyone who asked for it hydroxychloroquine, and then the amount of deaths fell by 50% would you say that it works or would you say that there’s still no evidence that it works because there was no control group etc. ?
You’re right. my number was off. I found this on matzav (I’m sorry ywn)
“ The doctor will be publishing a study next week in a top journal documenting the data of 1,450 patients seen by his practice. 405 were treated (with 3 drugs, HCQ, Zinc), 2 patients passed away, 4 are off respirators. 5-6 were admitted with pneumonia and most are back home.”
Still MUCH better than normal. That’s 2 out of 400 deaths! And even if from that batch 1 or 2 more patents r”l die, it is still amazing results. Go ahead, ask all kinds of questions. For some reason many Establishment scientists have a hard time thinking out of the box. If it is worth treating people right when the come into the ER, no matter they’re condition, ( yes, I know people who went in because they were scared and were given it) maybe we should give it to people when they’re still relatively healthy so that they shouldn’t have to go to the hospital. I personally think that many ( not all) scientists/ doctors/ media who have decried hydroxychloroquine are now actually hoping that it doesn’t help coronavirus because they’d be embarrassed. And it’s only human nature to subconsciously make sure no one else realizes that it might work.
All these studies tested it on half dead patients. They’re not studying the right thing. Hydroxychloroquine helps prevent Coronavirus symptoms from worsening. For example it reduces lung swelling. So when they test coronavirus on basically dead people of course it doesn’t work. They’re too far gone. Anyone who ignores this fact is not using their intelligence. The bottom line is that dr. Zelenko only had about 2 deaths out of a thousand at-risk patients which is incredible. Considering the fact that none of his patients had heart attacks you might be wondering what the downside is. And you’re probably right!
Look at shulchan aruch siman נה sif יד- טו. Very clear that all a minyan needs is that all mispallelim see the chan or vice versa.
areivim USA is a very good thing to have. It’s group in which everytime a member dies the family receives 100k per dependent.
Every member is charged when someone dies. The max payment is 28$ per month.
There was once another similar one but it shut down. very cheap and it lasts for as long as you have dependents.
website is WWW. areivim .info.

I’m not a scientist. And i don’t need to be one to notice that KJ has barely any deaths. Yes, they do have rabbonim. they even have regular senior citizens. Dr. Zelenko has been giving at-risk patients Hydroxychloroquine. so for all those sane people out there, here’s a multiple choice question:
What does does the above info mean?
A) KJ got very lucky.
B) KJ had a huge neis.
C) Hydroxychloroquine helped KJ, but it’s not scientifically proven so don’t take it anyways.
D) HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE RELIEVES SYMPTOMS SO TAKE IT!
(disclaimer: more than one answer may be correct.)
Breaking News: Man kills wife after 3 weeks of quarantine. Police detectives investigating why he waited so long.
1) DR. Z did take a random sample, 1000 random people with symptoms came to him.
2) I believe that all people with COVID-19 in the hospital used to not be in the hospital, and that before they came to the hospital they also had COVID-19 for longer than 1 day. That means everyone starts off “Walking well”.
The issue with what your saying is not that you don’t want Hydroxychloroquine. I understand that you have no issue with him prescribing it. The issue is that someone else reading your comments may think that there is not proven -even anecdotally- that it works. Which is not true, because Hydroxychloroquine has been shown to help prevent at risk patients from ending up in the hospital.
“Remember he is selecting the walking well. Where did you get your figure that 7-13% of those who are walking well will die from corona?”
7% is the percentage of AT-RISK patients who die. Apparently you don’t realize that every hospitalized patient started off as a so called “walking well”.
Just to go over it again, that means if you take a random sample of 500 at-risk people who have symptoms, about 30 should end up dying. Agreed? Great!
So if a Dr. Like Dr. Zelnko treats 500 random at-risk patients, we would assume about 30 of them will end up dying
Since the number was more like 0, assuming my facts are mostly correct, any sane person would realize that Dr. Zelenkos treatment plan works if started in an earlier stage than the deathbed.
Lakewood schools were using phone conferences before pesach and it’s working great. Internet is not needed.
But why am i getting the feeling that certain posters here are annoyed that some people don’t use internet. You want to use internet, good. they don’t, also good. Why does it bother you? if that’s how they want to live their lives leave them alone.
Of course i may be overthinking things, so just let me know if i am.
“So we have a bunch of patients who may or may not have done well without HCQ, and they did well with HCQ. What does that tell us? Nothing”
The problem with this is that normally if a doctor sees 5-600 patients who are at risk, (breathing troubl, co-morbidity, over 60) about 1 in 6 would end up in the hospital. that didn’t happen with Zelenko’s batch. the probability of Zelenko just getting luck is extremely low. Plus you have to explain the reports coming out of Lenox Hill. And all the other doctors experiencing lower hospitalization rates. Unless they are all lying???
Please, with your medical training, explain clearly to us laymen why the above is 1) untrue 2) if it is true why it doesn’t show us anything. If you can’t explain that, and i’d like to believe you think you can, then you should please stop professing to know for sure that Hydroxychloroquine isn’t helping any early stage COVID-19 patients.
Aha. So i understand. What you mean to say is that even though R’ Chaim kanievsky and many other gedolim consider them rodfim -people trying to kill me, I should get along with them. Would you say the same thing if someone was throwing stones at me?
If Coronavirus was Zombies running around in the streets killing every 50th person they met, and these people directed them towards others, you wouldn’t be talking like this. (Quoted from Trevor Noah)
What Hashem wants right now as per those gedolim in the know, is that more people should live. if certain people are helping to cause deaths then we must stop them. Even if stopping them involves shaming them into compliance.
Stop being a “snowflake” about serious matters.April 8, 2020 1:32 am at 1:32 am in reply to: Why do so many continue to ignore restrictions on gatherings and travel #1848225
First of all, to answer FrumRoshYeshivas question: In WW2 and the Inquisition it was shas hashmaad. Unless you are a serious conspiracy theorist i don’t think the rules against gatherings were designed by the CDC specifically to stop minyanim.
additionally, in those cases it was yechidim giving up their own lives, that we call moser nefesh. In our cases it’s yechidim giving up other peoples lives, that’s called a (safek) murderer.
(and i don’t believe you to actually be a standard rosh yeshiva)
In response to the original topic I’d like to suggest the following.
The jews who are violating the stay home orders can be broken up into 2 groups, 1) those without internet and don’t really have a grasp on how many niftarim there have been (obviously 99.88% of those without internet are following instructions) and 2) those who don’t have trust in authority and aren’t thinking clearly.
Both of these groups, if they would realize what they are doing would immediately stop.
The majority Non-Jews who aren’t following the instructions hwever, to my belief simply don’t care. That is the difference between us and them.
Disclaimer- I don’t believe that lack of internet is a bad thing, but this is a side-effect of it.
It doesn’t really make a difference what the age groups are, because Dr. Zelenko is only treating those at risk of Hospitalization/death. So if he treated 1000 people in KJ, (actually, almost half did not live in KJ) and there were less than 30 hospitalizations, and from what i understand 0 (there might have been 1 or 2, i’m not sure) he’s obviously doing something right. Unless he just got lucky.
I believe young and healthy people still have almost a 1% of dying from Coronavirus. so for example if 220million people in the US got it, there would be about 2.25 million deaths. If you want to risk it, go right ahead.
All the western countries should get together and cancel all the trillions of dollars they owe to china. it shouldn’t hurt them too much, but will provide a significant potch.
That’s a very nice calculation. But what you aren’t understanding is that Zelenko only gives his treatment to the high risk group. Meaning people over 65, with a co-morbidity, or shortness of breath. Patients in any of those 3 categories have a significant risk of hospitalization/death. And in fact they are about 70-80% of all coronavirus deaths. so if out of all those 1000 people that zelenko has there are less than 30 hospitalizations and only 2-3 deaths that means the medicine is working nearly 100%. if every doctor would follow this regimen the pandemic would be over.
Those that ignore this fact and then publicly say that Hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work are in effect causing people do needlessly die. Please do more much research before publicly commenting.
I can’t understand why people are worried about theoretical side effects. Thousand have already taken Hydroxychloroquine for Corona and none of them had a heart attack. If any one of them did we would have heard all about it from the left wing media and those doctors who for some reason don’t like it.
