my wife told me to say that she tries very hard to stay face up the nights when she knows she needs her makeup to stay and in the morning her makeup is usually still on

also for lipstick, use liplock- 2 coats make it stay beautifully

hi refreshing this thread cuz its a big issue now. A Kallah got a CZ and asked the rav if she cud break the engagement cuz she felt it showed her in laws were very stingy. I x know details of if the inlaws cud really afford more but was a pretty serious case.

Can we change the minhag to something cheaper that will ahve the same significance? or maybe just instill values into the girls???

we got pizza today for lunch instead and it was fully baked! unlike other years when we got at night and it was slightly-or more!-doughy.

The line near my house was nowhere near as long as by sandy but there are a good 30 cars waiting for gas. I guess they’re scared after NYC ran out last time. Until Sandy, ppl didnt really believe that NYC cud really run out of gas. Now we know its a real possibility. I filled up recently so im not panicking but i wud fill up too if i didnt have enough for a few days.

    ABA-

    dont get so technical.

we all know that adar is a time when the kids are expecting to have a good time and if we dont provide it for them, they will think of thier own hootinanny ideas!

its much safer this way if its just a harmless little prank with a good chap!

my rebbe in 8th grade had us all bring in baby pics around tu b’shvat time and he collected them and asked us to guess why he needed them. x tell us but then on rosh chodesh adar he gave out to each of us a t-shirt with out present school pic on the back and the baby pic on the front in big with our names!!! he told us that we only get shalach manos from him if we wear it on Purim when we go collecting!! My whole class wore them when we went aound collecting and it was a major hit that was a real joke on us! no harm done, but a lot of good cheer was added!

I can tell u personally I know that many of those limos are just good groups of boys who want to have fun on purim. NO drugs girls…. They take a lime cuz it makes them feel important and shticky!

I remember just a few years ago from my own collecting days and also from what I see around Boro Park. I x know what your sons group is like but most are just good kids having a grand time.

of course he should and teachers should join thier students too- obviously, if the kids will get overly rowdy then not but otherwise, i think its a great way for a rebbe to show his class that hes not just capable of spouting lectures but can actually enjoy himself too!

u wear whatever your family wears. don’t make a issue out of it. or else just wear what u feel comfortable in but if you change what u had worn all along, be prepared to get comments from ppl.

I think that eventhough many people dont belong to specific chassidusin, they still have a rav who they use as a moreh derech for them-just not part of an organized chassidus and they follow the minhagim they were taught at home

Please don’t get mad if u get water from anyone because many times the husbands dont have any say as to what goes into the shalach manos he is giving out-I know this from experience!

my cousin grew up yeshivish but got a little more modern as a teenager. He once got a job in a shop in a yiddish neighborhood and a kid asked his father, right in front of my cousin, “Is er a yid?” Of course my cousin understood and took off his koppel to show the kid

    farshteist yiddish?

not understanding yiddish in a place where it is a common language-like BP or willi- can be catastrophic once the kids pick up on this.
