The Rambam’s view is that the sanctity is forever, so there is still a chiyuv kares for defiling the mikdash.

The Rambam ascended the temple mount when he visited! Because it’s allowed to ascend the mount. Just asur to enter the mikdash.

It’s so the staff and students can celebrate Rabbi Shimon’s wedding/hilula. It’s a custom among the tzadikim.

A single girl can go to Uman for Rosh Hashanah and take her pick. There are plenty of marriage age men who are interested in meeting a sincere girl. There are litvish, chasdish, and modern orthodox men to choose from there. Intelligent and good looking bachelors! With good midos! Very spiritual, too!

Why leave your family at home? Uman is the best place for a family trip. Wholesome time spent in the center of a religious movement.

White people don’t like police violence, either. Who likes violent police? Do you like being accosted or intimidated by military acting police?

Probably your neighborhood is mostly white, which is why the protesters are white.

Capitalism means that those with capital control the economy.
Since they control everything and they are the masters, it is only appropriate to give them money to stimulate the economy. So that they can pay the workers to work.
The working class in capitalism is like the slave class of old. They control nothing. So giving them money doesnt pay for for work, but for consumption.
Capitalism says: we need the workers to keep working! We must find ways to keep the system going, or the workers may rebel!

There is no mitzvah to revive a person who’s heart stopped because if the heart is stopped then the patient is dead according to Jewish law.

In general, medicine is allowed, but not obligated, in Jewish law.

A bachur should keep his facial hair however he wants. If he wants to keep it in conformity with jewish tradition – then grow it. If he wants to look 20th century – then shave it.

If the yeshiva tries to dictate matters of personal taste such as facial hair, then you shouldn’t go to that yeshiva!

If the singers and musicians are Jewish, then it’s Jewish music.
If not, then it’s not Jewish. It doesn’t matter what the origin of the tune is or what language the lyrics are. Jewish musicians = Jewish music. Goyish musicians = goyish music.

The girls of Jerusalem dressed in borrowed white clothing and danced in the vineyards. The bachelors would go there and choose a mate. Shaul Hamelech was too shy to approach a girl so he had to wait until a girl approached him.

“Likutei Moharan is not a sefer halachah. Whether or not thereโ€™s a contradiction is irrelevant; itโ€™s not comparing apples to apples.”

The question is: In Likutei Moharan it says ืžืฆื•ื•ื” ื’ื“ื•ืœื” ืœื”ื™ื•ืช ื‘ืฉืžื—ื” ืชืžื™ื“, happy always; while in the mishnah it says ืžืฉื ื›ื ืก ืื‘ ืžืžืขื˜ื™ื ื‘ืฉืžื—ื”, in Av we lessen ืฉืžื—ื”. How can R Nachman’s statement stand notwithstanding the mishnah?! Doesn’t R Nachman’s statement require always ืฉืžื—ื” while the mishnah requires sometimes no ืฉืžื—ื”?

The answer is that ืœื”ื™ื•ืช ื‘ืฉืžื—ื” and ืžืžืขื˜ื™ื ื‘ืฉืžื—ื” are not going on the same thing. ืœื”ื™ื•ืช is a state of mind and ืžืžืขื˜ื™ื is acts of ืฉืžื—ื”.

ืžืžืขื˜ื™ื ื‘ืฉืžื—ื” means that we don’t make parties. We still must always be happy because it is a big mitzvah to be happy always. (ืœื™ืงื•ื˜ื™ ืžื•ื”ืจ”ืŸ).

The halachah is about social events of simchah, while R Nachman is talking about personal ืฉืžื—ื”. No contradiction.

You’re supposed to spend according to what you can afford without borrowing money that you can’t afford to pay back and without begging. If that means a million dollar wedding, or a wedding with only vodka and getting, either way is good. You can only enjoy it if you’re honest about your means. Trying to impress (nobody) is stupid.

For me it’s hard to say because I was subjected to years of indoctrination in this matter. They told us that America is the best – and they called it social studies. I recently spoke with a tourist from China who told me that China is the greatest government in the world…

The mom is wrong but her action is mutar. There is no restriction to expressing your opinion. The mom just expressed her opinion that she doesn’t want her daughter dating a young man. The question is whether the girl is obligated or should follow her mother’s expressed desire in this case. I think that according to the law she need not listen to her mom about who to date. Practically speaking the girl probably lives at home and does not make her own decisions. . .

    One word – R’ Nachman

Many people consider R’ Nachman their guide in life. They gather together, as R’ Nachman asked, at R’ Nachman’s place for Rosh Hashanah. The gathering, where you meet like minded fellows, gives you insight and understanding of life andavodas Hashem that you can’t get otherwise.
