The Yerushalmi on Kodshim was found a while back. The Rambam says that we must believe that the whole Torah is with us from Moshe Rabenu. No new finds.

If you believe that you are marrying על דעת בית דין then why do you need a מחאה. Your בית דין can be מפקיע your marriage. If in the alternative you are not then still הפקר בית דין . Why protest? Use your power of בית דין as it was meant to be.

Either way the תורה was קובע that all you need is בימים ההם. That is sufficient. As is באשר הוא שם in the opposite way. If anyone is zoche to gadlus in our generation it is true gadlus . Why that is so requires a הסבר but not now.

If it would be shayach, then you could get the same mitzvah by supporting those who keep shmita. But how can I know with reasonable certainty?

While we can’t say shorts are אסור on יום כפור because the כהן גדול wore them when he went into the קדש הקדשים, we can alert you to the concerns many Rabbonim had . I think the discussion about מכנסים in general is in the שדה חמד ,the Rav of Krasovbazar.Tried to keep it short.

The famous question of שכר מצווה is not in this world. As it says היום לעשותם ולא…. but in the very next pasuk it says reward of עקב תשמעון. So the Baaley Musar say, you get the reward for the excess and chumra in this world ( the עקב) .But the reward for din is in Olam Haba.

I am writing specifically about the YI of PP whose Rabbi SR was legendary as both a politician and a spiritual leader. The unfortunate demise of the shul and the 25 others in the area is over simplified by the cliche of dwindling membership. The representation that a merger solved anyone’s membership problem is quite infantile . On one hand you write that even small communities have Yeshivas למיניהם. But PP remains unfortunately an עיר הנידחת. The fall of the vast YI movement was discussed by the LR who saw it happening. YI is שומר שבת.You can’t be an officer otherwise. That is a great קידוש השם on paper. I encourage each group to be proud of their past and plan a bright future. The criticisms are basic silliness. שבת שלום

How did you learn פשט in the פסוק that ביום ההוא יהיה…אחד. What about now? Also I don’t think anyone disputes the concept of emanations to explain how יש came from אין. That is where your problem starts. How did the world come to exist ? The Rosh Hayeshiva RAS stressed כבוד אלוקים הסתר. Etc.

THE grammar of nachamu is a פיעל which starts with a פתח under the פ הפועל and a שוא נע and דגש חזק under the ע הפועל.This is modified because a ח can’t take a דגשor a שוא נע. But it takes the חטף instead of the שוא נע. The dagesh is omitted.Gay vays.Shabbat ( dagesh chazak) shalom.

The same question may be asked on the Kedushaלכאורה when we repeat the ק word 3 times. That however comes directly from the נביא. And is explained by the תרגוםto refer to 3 dimensions. Here the intent of repetition is sing song so its a question if any of them count.

Could you please recommend some books for men on this subject like frum women have oz vehadar and others so that we can see the contemporary approach of our leading poskim.Similarly, the YW allowed Rabbi Weiner’s sefer on beards even though Gedolei Olam like Harav Frank permitted shavers as did relatives of the Chofetz Chaim. Similarly in the alteh Mir ,Kamenetz, Novardok, etc.Chachmei Lublin .The Agudas Harabonim had many many clean shaven Rabonim. Why the nausea?

As the Rambam said when he compiled his יד. You don’t need any other ספרים.I have used hebrewbooks.org and it is quite an עבודת יד. Until that time if you wanted a sefer from the 16th or 17th century you had to buy a xerox copy in short supply by Biegeleisen. Now you can print what you want. Additionally prime Litvishe Yeshivas print heftlech of Meforshim like never before.

Please remember that for Yemeni Jews, all there is , is the Rambam. There is a famous vort why the trees will rejoice in the time of Moshiach. Because we can ask the Rambam himself what he meant and won’t need trees for paper to print theories and conjectures. BTW, why don’t we say chazak but instead substitute hadran?

Please correct me if I error. Firstly the Shedlitzer was Rav Pam’s uncle. Secondly , in some Yeshivas ,the Rosh Yeshivista was more of an influence on the bachurim than the Rosh Yeshiva. Similarly in some Young Israel’s the Rabbanit was better in Gemara than the Rav because her yichus was greater even though the Rav finished shas at 17 in Brownsville. Anyone remember?

Day schools run by Yirei Shomayim stay open on chol Hamoed so that the talmidim can experience a Sukkah and Pesach. One Yeshiva Day School required attendance Friday night to experience the Shabbos. The Mirrer Rosh Yeshiva Harav Kamai said his pilpul Friday at twilight. That was the appropriate time he said. Esteemed Rav AB . You are right about the tree. I am indeed chaser aleph in that one. The Ibn Ezra is beloved by all segments of Klal Yisrael. Many perushim were done as well like the Margalios Tovah I think. His son in law may have been the Kuzari or vice versa.Remember Tosfos brings his kasha in Kidushin as well . I enjoy reading your writings and wish you a Good Moed. You learned in American Yeshivas? Formerly BE. Now I may have to get a new nom de plume.

Like RE I too am an alman for a few years. A woman passes away , her husband mourns primarily. Like by Rus. The only thing I remember about Rav PEF sefer is that he glamorizes the dayelet as a tzniut model. Anybody remember the levaya of Rav Henkin on the LES? If I remember Harav Schorr zatzal was in excessive mourning. It was in the early 70’s I think.

Are you related to the Machon Yerushalayim Bukspan or the Hungarian Rosh Yeshiva who was killed akh”s in 1944? Back to Rav Klatzkin. The one I refer to was the Mariampol Rav. Dear Rav AB. very nice drush from Rav Klatzkin. Is he the author of the famous teshuva on defining mummification? I remember a teshuva from him years ago on that subject. Also another teshuva which I cant identify but deals with rubber? Please forgive me. Anyway it is pretty clear that the dichotomy in Pirkei Avot about being an eved seeking pras vs. one fearful of G-d is not represented here.Good Shabbos and thanks

DE. Thanks. One more time I specify my query. Why doesn’t kitniyos before chatzos have the status of 2 derabanons which is most probably permitted. One derabanan is the minhag of kitniyos and the second one is before chatzos. Thanks for your patience.

I really appreciate the discussion and thank all for participating in a respectful way with no ad hominem.Have an amazing Pesach.BTW I didn’t check the Shevet Levi zatzal but I think there is no issur to bake chametz on Erev Pesach. Bal Yiraeh starts on Pesach. The mitzvah of Tashbisu is at chatzos. And midrabanan before that. Therefore to forbid kitniyos because you may bake chametz on Erev Pesach is a stretch. Please correct me if I err.

Thanks to both Ashkenazim and Sefardim who responded. Just one more point is not clear yet with Daas Hakahal. That is do you allow kitniyos on Erev Pesach just like fruits and vegetables ? Meaning that after the tenth hour you permit kitniyos? This is a shayla for both Sefardim and Ashkenazim,I think.

The מדרש is trying to explain the need for a משכן in the מדבר. We know the commandment to build a בית המקדש requires 2 mitzvos before you are obligated. So now we understand the חטא of asking for a מלך. This should have been done as part of the בנין הבית not like all the nation’s. Capesci?
