The Dissonance of Redemption #2483603commonsaychelParticipantYour unrelenting attempts at advocacy to ensure the rights of the frum community are not only commendable but outright awe-inspiring! Orthodox organizations stand by their communities, fighting any possible hindrance to their freedom of speech, religion, etc. The frequent large-scale Torah Events are exciting, inviting, highly professional, and a true Kiddush Hashem. Honestly, it is to be envied by other communities! The accomplishments are impressive as well. Bills passed, funds allocated to Jewish Education, lifting the heavy burden of Tuition, stepping in for someone who was discriminated against for Shabbos Observance, Lobbying on Capitol Hill, and developing real friendships with Politicians who appreciate our communities. I can go on and on and on and its all true. BUT. What if all the above doesn’t succeed? What if your friends in the government are unable to help despite their goodwill? What happens if anti-Semitism doesn’t like your advocacy and persists no matter what? What happens if the situation gets worse, as it already is? And the real QUESTION? What if G- D Forbid Golus America ends like 100% of the other goluses??? What do we do then? Is there a plan B? I don’t want to get descriptive. It’s not necessary. WE NEED PLAN B!!
I would like to make a suggestion based on a Possuk in yeshayahu פרק ד פסוק ג. Yes, I am suggesting preparing American Jewry for mass Aliyah, and I even have a plan. Send a delegation for a series of meetings with Government Ministers, Minister of Housing, Minister of Labor, Minister of Education, Minister of Aliyah. (Yes Israeli Ministers) Say to them, we are preparing our communities for mass Aliyah. We want our communities and their families to be able to live near one another and to retain our culture, our educational system etc. We need proper and adequate employment and social services. We need shuls, schools, yeshivos, seminaries, etc. Lay down the infrastructure NOW! Don’t wait till it’s too late! I don’t like to beg, but I hereby beg you – Do it NOW!
It can be done. There are large empty expanses of land – in Yerushalaim and close by, and in other places as well. – Tell the Minister of Housing – You allocate the land, we will bring the builders (not the kind who build in every possible meter leaving no space for greenery, etc) the prices will be government-regulated for 18 months, during which period of time only people from X community will be able to buy. After 18 months, anyone will be able to buy. Within these new neighborhoods, there will have to be lots allocated for shuls, schools, yeshivos AND playgrounds, beautiful green parks etc. The Rabbonim of the shuls will only be able to be from X community as so too the principals of the schools and the Roshei Yeshiva. Demand easier conditions for opening businesses, easier taxation – whatever! (Dont worry you won’t get all you ask for- but it’s a beginning.)
Aliyah has many challenges but when done together, it’s a whole different story.
I know that I’ll be hit in the face with all sorts of hashkafos that serve the purpose of easing guilt over staying put, but times have changed. We are on the threshold of worldwide changes that we cannot foresee their results. WE MUST HAVE A PLAN B!commonsaychelParticipantIt has to do with the orange soap in the mikva at a minyan factory

this a repost of something that wtsp wrote, you would not know sarcasm if it hit you in your facecommonsaychelParticipantHey I’m a young teenage girl in bais yaakov that has been struggling with many areas in yiddishkeit recently. I have also been improving tremendously with the help of many people. One thing that has been bothering me all along and still is, is that the things I was struggling with (mainly boys) were topics that arent discussed in school or basically anywhere in my life. Im definitely not the only girl in my bais yaakov and the other Bais yaakovs all over that struggles with it because it’s normal for it to be a struggle but what makes it harder is that these topics are kept so hushed up and looked upon so badly which personally made it much harder to improve. As I was going thru my struggle I was told that I was going to be sent out my school if I didn’t stop doing what I was doing… and all I could think is “ok I’m doing things against school rules and it’s not right, but why can’t my school teach me in the first place how to control myself or how to deal with these kind of feelings?”
Im wondering if anyone can explain some of this to me so I’m able to understand better why things are like this… thank youNovember 12, 2025 8:09 pm at 8:09 pm in reply to: An End to Shidduch Résumés by Rabbi Chananya Weissman #2471329commonsaychelParticipant@SR, he is still a loser, he is a loser who makes videos, he could not get married in the US and still could not get married in Israel, birds of a feather flock together, bitter old alter bucherim

Just because someone is married, that does not prove that he or she is “an expert”.
There are many people with below-average personalities who got married because they are tall or rich or beautiful; and there are many people with above-average personalities who are not married because they are short or poor or ugly.
There are many people with below-average intelligence who got married because they are tall or rich or beautiful; and there are many people with above-average intelligence who are not married because they are short or poor or ugly.
Also, there are many people who are married now, but will be divorced in the future.
Are people who are married now, but will be divorced in the future “expert”, because they are married now?You seem to not understand that if our personal circumstances were just a little different, many people who are married now would not be married, and many people who are not married now would be married now.

Williamsburg Hatzolah met us at the airport in mist of a snowstorm and took to the hospital, where the liaison [ a Klausenberger Chusid] came in a night to make sure everything went smoothly.
my son’s stay was over Purim, and we heard megillah from Lubavitcher bucherim went from room to room reading instead of having a good time, we had a Purim seduah from Satmar Bikur Cholim as well as shabbos meals.

I have a theory that the majority of cheesecake bought for shavuos ends up in the garbage (and hence eaten by the local squirrels-or whatever your local animals are). People get all excited about keeping the minhag and ended up buying, making or getting gifts of cheesecake for much more than is able to be consumed. Also, most people end up eating more fleishig than milchig meals (especially this year with one day shabbos) and hence the opportunities to consume all the cheesecake are quite limited.September 8, 2025 10:53 am at 10:53 am in reply to: The Eruv — Halachic Tool or Glorified Shabbos Loophole? #2446733commonsaychelParticipantthe OP only holds by the TROLLER hechsher, so long as a TROLL takes part its not an issue, oh did I mention TROLL yet?
commonsaychelParticipantWe have to honestly thank Bibi Netanyahu for starving the terrorists of Gaza. Israel really should simply carpet bomb Gaza into to the stone age, or completely out of existence, as the late great Rabbi Meir Kahane of blessed memory wisely advocated.
We all saw on October 7 how even the so-called “civilians” of Gaza actively participated in Pogram of that day. There are no civilians. Only current terrorists and future terrorists.
Even the starvation of the children is simply protecting the State from those future terrorists.

commonsaychelParticipantShort men tend to have higher rate of fertility problem and that’s why shadchonim ignore short men and heavy women and that is why SR and Chananya Weissman never got married
commonsaychelParticipantWhy are trolls always trolling?
commonsaychelParticipantFishman also pointed to the language that often used to describe singles, another factor that upsets singles. Why is a 35-year-old female attorney called a “girl,” while a married 19-year-old is called a “woman?” In addition, some singles complained of “being Shabbosed,” a term that refers to last-minute Shabbat meal invitations, as opposed to those invitations for married folks that are always done in advance.
Above all, Orthodox singles seem to be craving simple friendship from their married peers.
Fishman also pointed out that singles urged more education at various age levels about healthy gendered relationships and mutual responsibility in a marriage. Unfortunately, one of the downsides of a more pervasive single-sex atmosphere in the Orthodox world is that it creates more troubled social interactions and unrealistic expectations between the sexes. Orthodox singles felt that more education about communication skills and dating is needed, starting in middle school and continuing through young adulthood.
Orthodox singles also desire more natural and organic opportunities to meet one another in educational and social functions, friendship gatherings and family celebrations, similar to the way people used to meet a couple of generations ago. It seems that even though there is a desire among observant singles to turn back the clock and return to a simpler way of meeting and interacting with others, we still rely strongly on shidduch resumes, shadchans, checklists and the like. Perhaps Fishman’s findings will convince people to reconsider the shidduch culture that now dominates the Orthodox community.
Fortunately, there are also good things happening within the Orthodox singles community. Singles themselves (never married, widowed and divorced) have developed wonderful support networks and mini-communities among themselves, where they can socialize together and create bonds of friendship. And organizations such as YUConnects and SawYouAtSinai have harnessed the power of online technology to create matches that years ago might never have happened.
I also hear the term “shidduch crisis” used less and less, which perhaps is also good news. It’s a term that I felt was never appropriate (the war in Ukraine is a crisis, Orthodox singles finding it more difficult to get married is not a crisis).
With that said, I do feel it’s important that we listen to the voices of Orthodox Jewish singles and hear what they are saying and how they are feeling. And that we do what we can to make them equal partners in our larger Jewish community.
