in reply to: New Miami Boys choir #782080

I LOVE THE NEW MIAMI!! I’m obsessed with 1st, 2nd,and 7th songs in specific. It’s on a whole day here!

in reply to: Whats with the off-the-derech teens?!?! #779542

I really don’t have patience to read the whole thread but I just want to point out one thing. (someone might have said this though)

People tend to pity the parents and families of these children and think of the children as horrible. Being that I was at risk myself and b”h returned, I want to say that the pain is excrutiating *spelling lol* for those who are in it. Every time I would do something I knew was wrong but felt that I needed to do it I would just cry and cry after. I knew Hashem was there but I just was angry. And yes, the smartest do go off. People go through intense hardships that you just may not even believe but I can’t say always but definitely most of the OTD kids had some trouble in school or at home. Many times it has to do with parents and then the parents are the ones who are pitied when they’re the ones at fault-NOT always the case thought.

in reply to: Tatti, Abba, or Daddy #779815

Ta n’ Ma-easiest shortest least annoying.

in reply to: "top boys" #787128

Idk if this rly has to do w/ this but in general with shidduchim but its funny to see how when on paper and discussion e/1 agrees on the right priorities but when it comes to their own spouses or children, its another story. Easy to say about others but still, its uneasy to do. BUT, that is why this system is corrupt. Don’t just say it, act on it! But somehow every MIL seems to think she’s got to have the perfect DIL and FIL thinx he needs top SIL and really its all shallow. There can be boys who are “top” boys and wealthy and good learner but when it comes to real life they aren’t the greatest husbands (not necessarily bad) In general, I feel like these “top” statements are overrated and it means nothing. Just IMHO.

    in reply to: psoriasis #779007

My problem is I got cream for my scalp and skin but I can’t put it into my ear cuz its too deep. I’m going to my regular physician I’ll ask her but Idk if she’ll know. Any other suggestions though? I sorta can’t go to the yam hamelech y’know i live in America and its not worth a 2000$ ticket when I can do s/t else. I did hear it worx for ppl tho but mine isn’t regular=not genetic. Thanx though!

in reply to: Shidduch Threats #779076

THe problem is also that most of the kodesh teachers and some chol aren’t certified at all! they are young woman who are busy with family and need some money. They don’t know what they’re doing. Or its old folgies who don’t know how to relate to the younger generation. The whole school system is down the drains. Yeah S.S. was great what she did but we aren’t following in the RIGHT footsteps. There are many things we have changed and we’re not on her level anymore so its rly sad where our schools have gone today. Just my vent on schools (they’re all insane IMHO LOL)

in reply to: Bad days #778689

I’m also having a hard day…let’s say it wasn’t hard until I pushed off studying for my finals and now I’m starting and I have 2! K, i gtg get down to work. U’ll get over it, e/1 has hard days and one day you’ll have a good day so just wait. 🙂 🙂

in reply to: Shidduch Threats #779072

This world is CORRUPT! The entire society (frum society) is obsessed with shidduchim. I live my life for it and its insane. In school we get the impression that we need to be skinny and pretty and smart, go to BJJ, etc. ITS INSANE! This world is SHALLOW!!!!!

in reply to: brooks brothers #833588

I always go to their July 4 sales. Dunno bout the June stuff.

in reply to: New ?????? song! #772402

yeah I watched it and I was going nuts cuz I recognized one of the men and its so not his type to do it. Its really cute though…

in reply to: Scared of driving! #772142

Just go with a driving teacher and you won’t want to make a fool out of yourself and make them think you’re a scardy cat so the first few minutes you’ll be terrified and you’ll eventually realize its not that scary! I was terrified in the beginning of my first lesson and at the end the teacher was telling me to slow down. Chill out and realize that she has a brake and gas and won’t let you crash. Good Luck!

in reply to: Anyone see these rediculous "Doomsday" Ads in Subway? #770003

Yeah, I heard about it. I understand who’s doing it but where are there warped ideas from. Why May 21 and not June 2 or s/t. Why an earthquake? It’s totally crazy, but how can they backup what they are saying? They have no reasoning.

in reply to: yichus in shidduchim #769702

I didnt read the whole thread but IMHO yichus is 00000! In today’s day and age, roshei yeshiva and gedolim can raise the most rotten of rotten children. I’ve seen this personally! Kids who’ve gone OTD and totally rebell and kids with awful middos. Yes, any parent can raise such kids but I’m saying the fact that their gr8 grandfather duzn’t mean a thing. Children aren’t products of their home anymore. Besides there’s yeridas hadoros.

Unfortunately, many of today’s principals are as messed up as their students. They can do more damage than good and can destroy a person’s life (personal experience). People are opening schools left and right and are they qualified to be in chinuch?! NO! It’s happened too many times that principals (and teachers) have ruined children and teens (pushing them more OTD than back on) not to learn from experience. Why is this still going on?! Nobody learned it already (the hard way) Yes, there are some excellent principals and they should be the ones in charge-not every lady/guy off the street!

    done my rant 🙂

in reply to: Your Favorite Chocolate #767216

Oh you non-cholov yisrael people ur making me jeaallooouuussss….

No really there are HEAVEN chocolates that r cholov yisrael. Favorites are torino sticks, shmerlings, and tonz of Klick stuff. I really like milchige and wouldn’t break my diet for pareve (don’t know if for milchige either but….ya)

Oh ya and all the chocolate ice creams-I take plain choc. (no mix! e/1 thinx i’m crazy lol)

in reply to: Introverts thread #1193409

I asked someone professional about this and she said as follows:

extrovert-can be outgoing, bubbly, friendly… and after a “party” look for another party to “recharge”

introvert-can be outgoing, bubbly, friendly…or can be quiet and shy… and after a party needs time alone to recharge. This DOES NOT mean antisocial. That’s a whole separate category.

I don’t know what I am b/c of current situations I’m antisocial but I hate it and I don’t think I really am that way on a normal basis.

in reply to: Is makeup tznius? #768177

I heard from someone that the girls in the times of the gemara wore make-up and I think it was encouraged so if they could, we can. There’s a difference between attractING and attractIVE. Some might look like they’re dressed for their wedding but there’s nothing wrong with looking super-good if it doesn’t scream out (most girls don’t). It’s the natural thing for a girl to want to look pretty. There is NOTHING wrong with H.S. girls wearing make-up to a normal degree. As for married women, I can’t speak because I’m not married.

Everyone complains about the levels of tznius nowadays and the worst is usually in H.S. but I’m there and IMHO, girls are burnt out of these speeches. Teach more about middos and sincerity in yiddishkeit and hopefully tznius will seep in too.

in reply to: Women's Clothes #766208

K so anyone know which of these stores have websites? I know of a few but ya.

dunno-I love that store but only online. There’s no good stuff in the local branch here.

in reply to: Women's Clothes #766184

    FOREVER 21!!! best store ever!!!

in reply to: Men and Makeup #766890

Waxing can give you pimples which is why I’m not so comfortable with it but tweezing is way too painful although I do it sometimes. Tweezing yourself isnt bad but when s/1 does it for you and doesn’t give you a break b/w every few hairs, its too much. Then go try threading-that’s worse, so really there’s no way out.

    in reply to: CPR #765411

Although I am trained in cpr, I’d probably freeze. I b”h never was in such a situation and hope never to be. When I took cpr, they still had the breathing thing. Anyone know what the “new” version is now?

in reply to: Men and Makeup #766874

To the people who were saying do electrolysis-I never did it and would never on my eyebrows. Styles change and you might not like the way it is now in five years. For other facial hair, its great. Anyways, that’s part of being a girl. You gotta suffer for beauty (2 hours on hair, an hour on makeup, not eating soup, not opening windows, not sleeping on Friday night).

in reply to: Which Is The Best Internet Filtering System? #909959

We have K9 and I think its okay. I never got blocked from anything I needed but was never exposed to things I shouldn’t see (such as the ads on the side of websites). Its free and easy to install but also VERY easy to bypass the password. If you know there is a danger of someone who is tech-savy in your home, DON’T get it. I know someone who had it in their home and someone wanted to access a video of Kate and William that was blocked and did very easily (and this person isn’t a super tech-savy teen).

in reply to: Teens ONLY!!! #764562

gorgeous-are these for your FRIENDS or ppl your class? BIG difference. For friends I’d do s/t like a towel with a pic of both of u or a mug, t-shirt, bag, ipod case-theres so much stuff just do snapfish there’s nothing wrong with it although e/1 uses it. There’s other websites like zazzle and some others. remember to do s/t practical that they can take to sem. or s/t.

in reply to: Teenage Girls Infiltrating CR? #765117

LSS-soo true. What happened to e/1 being buzy? Ppl seem to be bored all day!

Anyways, too bad if you don’t like us but teens ROCK!!!!

in reply to: Wedding of Price William (U.K)… #765938

I just think its really cool but I skipped a lot of the “praying” stuff. The things I did hear were straight from the torah-pretty funny. Kate’s gown was gorgeous and she looked amazing.

in reply to: Whats Your Favorite Food? #769864

my favorite’s gonna give me away but my nexts are pizza and ice cream.

in reply to: Getting Married & Trying To Decide To Have TV Or Not #764326

Anything you get on tv you could probably get on the internet. I did not grow up with a tv and I’m happy about it b/c I know kids who did and scientifically its proven that children behave better if they don’t watch tv. It has news and wheather, etc. but it also has a lot of not good stuff. Especially in your first year of marriage you want time for yourselves, not sitting at the tv for hours.

in reply to: Men and Makeup #766806

A lot of guys say such things. They simply don’t get it. Every time I wear make-up i get the same thing.

in reply to: What Do You Do When You're Angry? #764467

in reply to: Jewish Dance Machine #942734

stuffedcabbage-It never did this before. Only recently it started happening and I’ve had it for a long time.

    Thanx gumball-I will.

in reply to: Jewish Dance Machine #942731

I have it and love it! Is anyone else having some problems with it? Like it fails you in the beginning of a song and the pad’s sensors are not in the right places. I want to contact the company and ask for a new one-hope they’ll give me one!

in reply to: Mental Illness..Hang The Stigma! #774463

WOW! This is an amazing article. Recently, there have been a few articles on this topic trickling out into the public magazines but nobody brought it to the front like this one did. This is what people need to hear. Even if it doesn’t make it into mishpacha, the people here read it and hopefully took the lesson. Hatzlacha Raba!

    in reply to: ipod #760727

Be very careful with ebay. Read the ENTIRE page and make sure you check out every detail of the item. I had some really bad experiences with it.

in reply to: shidduchim and weight….. #906681

yeshivaguy-Yeah girls come home from seminary off this planet but they all eventually settle down to be their own person. i don’t remember who said it but s/1 said they don’t like BJJ kids. I know s/1 who went to BJJ and they always say it was such a mix-girls from PPY to Bais Rochel Monsey and OOTers from France, Switzerland… They all came home in the skies and eventually turned into their own person and took the hashkafos their own way.

Poppa-You’ve got a lot to learn. Every BY girl is her own person. Just because a school wants to make them a certain type it doesn’t mean they aren’t their own. Yes, many are the same type but among the same type there are trllions of diff. types. YOU CANNOT CATAGORIZE ALL BY GIRLS TOGETHER! Plus all BY schools are slightly different in different places.

in reply to: hi again #760908

emoticon-Really you wouldn’t care if you knew who I was and you for sure know my family mayb not me in particular but I know you through other ppl but never met u in my life.

in reply to: shidduchim and weight….. #906675

I can’t even read this whole thread I’m so horrified by some people here. Some fat girls try so hard to loose weight but their bodies are just stubborn and they work really hard at it. And for those mocking B.Y. girls-you have a lot to learn. Stop judging and catagorizing people. Everyone is different and not all B.Y. girls are the same. You have a lot to learn in life-pretty pathetic.

in reply to: hi again #760905

yep i told u i know u and knew u were engaged 🙂 mazel tov!

in reply to: teenager chol hamoed trips #760652

I’m the only teen here so I go along with the babies 🙁

in reply to: shidduchim and weight….. #906561

dunno-not necessarily. I know some very skinny girls who ended up bigger than heavy set people after being pregnant. Its very hard to loose weight gained during pregnancy! It doesn’t always have to do with how she was before.

in reply to: shidduchim and weight….. #906549

dunno-hate to break it to you but when girls are pregnant they can be waayyyyyy bigger than an 8! They are the ones working really hard carrying around kids for 9 months and then when they’re finally done they’re expected to loose every ounce they gained. This world has gone insane!!!

And its so true that boys can demand whatever they want and the first word a girl says they’re called “too picky”-NOT FAIR!

in reply to: The Bernstain Bears and Too Much Pesach Vacation #759390

WE NEED MORE VACATION! NOT LESS!

in reply to: who are you #760080

girl 10-20 (pretty obvious from my posts-I hope nobody figured me out!)

in reply to: Supper Right Before Pesach #935815

    take-out food ever night lol

in reply to: shidduchim and weight….. #906537

I am not in shidduchim so I can only try to relate.

About weight-no matter how many diets you go on daven because if Hashem wants you’ll loose it and otherwise nothing will change. Make sure to stay HEALTHY not on carb-free or grape diets, etc. They are DANGEROUS!!! Also, DON’T WEIGH YOURSELF!!!! Its not the weight that counts-its the way you look! Weight always fluctuates and everyone is built differently. NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS!!!!! It will just make you obsessed and you don’t want to become anorexic! Remember that the right one will look passed your weight and like you the way you are. I have many relatives who got married and were not 2,4,6,or 8. Daven, daven, daven Hashem should help you find the right one soon!

in reply to: Dinner Ideas! #885475

I didn’t read the whole thread so sorry if I’m just repeating.

mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, french fries, blintzes (cheese, potatoe, mushroom…), farfel, burgers, sauteed vegetables, soup (chicken, vegetable…), knishes (potatoe, vegetable, mushroom,…) rice, corn on the cob, green beans, meat loaf, homemade pizza, pizza bubble ring (in kosher by design for kids), grilled cheese, fried fish, baked fish, sweet n’ sour salmon, sushi, fish patties

Chicken: barbecue, stuffed, chicken wrap, chicken salad, chicken cutlets, chicken capon, breaded, sesame, chicken w/ wine sauce, chicken cooked w/ veggies, roasted, southern fried, chicken knish, chicken wellington, cashew chicken, chicken rolled w/ pastrami, chicken fricasse (many of these are complicated so it depends if you have patience and time for it)

This is what I can think of now but you can make different combinations of things and different versions. Look in recipe books for more easy and good recipes. Good luck!

in reply to: being followed #763516

yoyo-calm down! your life isn’t over! Very likely that these ppl are all in it 2gether. Don’t confront them-it would b rly awkward and theyd probably deny anyways. Stare at the person as if theyr nuts, make them feel really stupid. Be a snob. If that doesn’t work then tell your parents or just dont go near that store anymore. Sooner or later theyll give up on you. Ignore the managers, act as if you don’t know them. Hopefully theyll get the point. (I didnt read the other thread)

in reply to: Do You Fall Asleep With Your Lenses In?. #1061877

Definitely not a great idea. I used to do it a lot-now I just take them out earlier (before I get tired). Your eyes need air (My dr. said 2 hrs a day) so you really shouldn’t sleep in them. If u did it its not so horrible but don’t do it if u can. Plane rides are always a challenge when wearing lenses so wear glasses.

in reply to: sad ending chasuna #757075

She probably would’ve been embarrassed of everyone besides her close friends anyways so it wasn’t nice of her friends but its good that the guests left. It was obviously meant to be although its sad.
