From your previous thread, it seems like you may not be looking for the typical post-high school seminary. If you are looking for a night/post-seminary age program, there is Ohr Naava, Nitzutz, and one more whose name I don’t remember in Brooklyn, and Sheefa in the Five Towns. Ohr Naava offers shiurim year-round; I don’t know if the others close for the summer or not. There are also plenty of shiurim offered outside of formal programs.

Lior, you’re combining two separate parts of my post. The first part was that it’s not so clear cut because people have gotten permission to do it. The second part was that stealing can’t be compared to co-ed gyms, regardless of whether or not it’s clear cut. And if someone were to post a question about mixed swimming or dancing, then yes, I would tell them to ask their Rav and not the CR. Regardless of our different perspectives, you must realize that the CR is not the place to ask shailos.
There are a couple of programs that advertise extensively, such as The Bold Edge and Design Alive. I think that Design Alive requires internet while The Bold Edge does not. Many women take these courses, but I don’t believe that they are specifically for women, so they are probably worth looking into.

There’s nothing controversial about the answer to this question. It’s straightforward. Hence the comparison to questioning stealing.
It’s not nearly as straightforward as you’re making it sound. I know of some women (and one man) whose rabbanim have permitted them to attend co-ed gyms for various reasons. “Lo Signov” is one of the Aseres HaDibros. “Do not attend a co-ed gym” is not. It’s a terrible comparison.
So to echo the words of flatbusher above, doviddb, ask your rav and not the coffee room.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Height really bothers some people. Other people couldn’t care less and just use it as an excuse. Without knowing the situation, it’s impossible to determine which one it is.
BoruchSchwartz – It seems to me that you’ve never met an actuary, because every single one of your statements about them was incorrect in some way. It sounds like you got caught in the hype of all the “Actuary is the best job in America” articles, of which there are plenty, but never did any actual research into the profession. You’re missing some basic, vital information. I’d recommend doing some googling to learn about the profession.
Also, most accountants get paid very well – I’m not sure why you aren’t. Maybe it’s time to look for a new job?
Touro will most likely give your daughter a full scholarship, and I would guess that Stern will give her at least $20,000/year (can’t be more precise than that, sorry). I think that Touro is a bit nicer than Stern when it comes to merit and financial aid in general.
Which is more likely to provide a smart, talented student with a better scholarship?
For clarification: I speak of Touro Manhattan Honors vs. Stern Honors. I do not qualify for federal aid.

Don’t forget to take the cost of each program into account. Stern may offer more scholarship money than Touro, but it will almost certainly still be more expensive, because tuition at Touro is about $16,000/year, while tuition at Stern is about $40,000/year. So if Touro offers $12,000/year while Stern offers $25,000/year, Touro will be cheaper despite offering a smaller scholarship. It’s the percentage that matters, not the actual dollar amount, and Touro will most likely give a a bigger scholarship than Stern percentage wise.

I would describe a top notch girl as solidly hashkofik Bais Yaakov girl, willing to support a husband because she sees the chashivus of Torah.
I didn’t read the whole thread, but why are only girls who are willing to support a husband considered “top of the notch?” You do realize how many girls you are excluding with that statement, right?
Just wanted to point out that some of these problems from 3 years ago still exist. When you click on a thread’s most recent reply (under the freshness column), only the most recent reply (or two) shows up. The rest of the thread along with the YWN header is cut off. This problem also exists when you post a new comment.
A short term solution to this problem is to remove the specific post number (ex-remove #post-156235), which enables the entire thread to load. However, a more permanent fix is needed in order to be able to go directly to a thread’s most recent post while still having the rest of the posts load at the top of the page.
My class was a beautiful mix. a class of 32 we had about 18 out of towners including toronto, Lakewood, Monsey, 5 towns.

That’s true of any seminary-more good girls apply than can be accepted. I was responding to the person who said that you can only get into Bnos Sarah if you use protektzia, and that’s not true. Does everyone who “deserves” to be in Bnos Sarah get in? That’s debatable. But most of the girls who do get into Bnos Sarah get in on their own merit. That’s all I meant.
Take everything “seminary” said with a grain of salt… it’s 100% opinion based on her research and her background. People who actually went to these seminaries may not agree with her.

Speaking from personal experience, this is not true. If you deserve to be in Bnos Sarah, you will get in without making a single phone call. It could be that some people use protektzia, but that’s true for every seminary. Most girls get into Bnos Sarah on their own merit.
Feif Un, outrageous seminary tuition is not unique to Bais Yaakov seminaries. In fact, the Modern Orthodox seminaries charge more than the Bais Yaakov seminaries do. Neve is in a category of its own because it’s aimed at non-frum Jews. You can’t use it as a comparison point.

Try Neve, Eyhat, Jewel… They are all baale teshuvah programs for women in Yerushalayim but I don’t know the differences between them. I’m assuming that they all have summer programs, but I could be mistaken.
If you go through a college (Touro, Stern, TI, and one more whose name I don’t remember right now) then you can use college scholarships. Otherwise, you need scholarships that are specifically for seminary/a year abroad.

It’s perfectly normal. It happens after every election. There’s no reason to get excited.
That’s not exactly true-although you need to take an entrance exam in Hebrew to get into Michlala, you don’t need to pass it. Plenty of people do poorly on the entrance exam but are still accepted because they have good grades/good interview, etc.
Maybe try Seminar/Meohr/Machon Raaya/Bnos Chana.
I’d say that Seminar is the most similar to Ateres although I could be wrong.

There’s Neve for baale teshuvah, but it’s not a Bais Yaakov atmosphere. Maybe Pnimim? I don’t really know what you’re looking for (Bais Yaakov or non-Bais Yaakov) so I’m not sure how to advise you. I recommend getting in touch with a Rav and asking him for help. If you’re looking for a seminary like Ateres, why not consider Ateres itself? If you have a specific reason that you don’t want to go to Ateres, mentioning it would help people figure out what would be better for you instead. (And btw-I know a baalas teshuvah who was in Ateres last year who really liked it.)
WIY, I researched your claims on Google and the rumor about Obama almost getting divorced is 100% FALSE! It’s motzei shem ra, pure and simple. People speculated that Donald Trump was going to release divorce papers for the Obamas but all he did was offer $5 million to charity if Obama released his college transcripts and passport applications. The part about almost getting divorced was a RUMOR! And there is no proof either way if Obama’s parents were married or not. Why are you so quick to assume the worst about him? I prefer to believe that his parents were married.

2-Toronto (has a six week trip to Eretz Yisrael after Pesach)
3-Machon Basya Rochel (Rebbetzin Feiner’s seminary in the Five Towns, very warm, not so academic)
4-Bais Yaakov Intesive
5-Bais Yaakov Half Day
6-Machon
7-BYA
8-The NY Sem=V’At Alit (Rebbetzin Asaf’s seminary, very academic, full day program I think)
9-Bnos Chaim (Lakewood)
10-The Lakewood Seminary (separate from Bnos Chaim, but I don’t remember its real name)
11-Maalot Baltimore (has a trip to Eretz Yisrael January time)
12-Yavne in Cleveland (very academic, small, might not be around for much longer)
There used to be another seminary in Detroit but it closed down a couple of years ago.
As you can see, there are plenty of options for girls wanting to stay in America. However, I don’t know very much about the seminaries on my list. I’ve merely heard of most of them. Some have dorms, some don’t. Some have options for boarding by local families (ex-Yavne). Some are more academic than others. I suggest you take this list as a starting point and narrow it down from there. If I remember any other American seminaries I’ll try to post them. Hatzalachah Rabba with your search!

On second thought, I’m thinking that you interpreted “I don’t think it’s a dream seminary” to refer to Ateres, when it in fact referred to musicaldignity’s description of what she wants in a seminary. Am I correct?

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see any bashing of Ateres in my sentence. If you somehow misconstrued what I wrote, I apologize. Please explain your illogical leap.

As a Sternberg veteran, I’m happy to help. All shirts are okay, t-shirts included. Socks are a little more complicated, they prefer that you cover your ankles but it’s not strictly enforced for campus (the division of camp which your daughter will be in). It’s enforced more in the older divisions.

Lots of people I know are going to Bnos Sarah as their first choice. And I know people who were accepted to BJJ and rejected from Bnos Sarah.
Congratulations on getting into Meohr! It’s extremely hard to get in. I recommend that you read the past seminary threads on Yeshiva World as they have a lot of information on Meohr. I would copy and paste it, but it’s simply too much.
