Sort of like someone not into Modern orthodoxy not participating in those discussions…?

don’t know how u came out,, but if it’s muttar and u decide to get one, i just recently read how to catch one:

Get a wooden beam, make a pear-shaped hole, with the narrow entrance barely big enough for the gorillas two fingers, then cook some rice and put it in the wider part. When a gorilla comes to get the rice, it won’t be able to retract its fingers. Put a sack over its head, and even if u return several hours later, it will still be there, unwilling to just let go of the rice.

@Jackk the targets of these mandates are those who weren’t convinced by all the information that was put out.
As I said, these mandates will simply strengthen the resistance.
My suggestion, again, for what it’s worth: Show some optimism in the vaccine. Let the government themselves show they believe in it. From the onstart of the vaccines there was but skepticism, pessimism, blaming Trump, and threats.
Like I said, put out something positive.

Will it work? I don’t know.
But I don’t think shoving it down everyone’s throats is the answer.

    @jackk
I’m not honestly sure, but I don’t think this is the way.
They should give out–maybe once a month, not more–sugar sweet statistics about how COVID is declining due to the vaccines, FAQs about the dangers and good answers, and, more than anything, shut their mouths about every slight variant which just discourages everyone. And urge doctors to urge their patients to get vaxxed.

Part of the big hesitancy of getting jabbed is that there was such huge hype about it, a new, potentially scary vaccine (at least, some room for concern), then the hype faded, the numbers declined, and then…..EVERYONE, MASKS BACK ON, EVERYONE SCARY DELTA IS HERE. WHOEVER’S NOT GETTING VACCINATED IS MURDERING EVERYONE ELSE AND MAKING IT TERRIBLE FOR ALL THE UPSTANDING CITIZENS WHO DID THE RIGHT THING AND DID GET VAXXED.
And now it’s mandates and pink slips.
    C’mon.

Besides for what I wrote originally, even if they were to succeed, it would create/foster lots of ill sentiments and mistrust in the already very wobbly government.

@AbbaS was that meant for a different thread?

    “You could make aliyah”
That is their excuse. So Jews have no birthright to enter the country, but rather to become citizens of the country.

    RE animosity.
I find in Israel there is animosity toward “frum Anglos,” but [non – frum] Israelis in Chutz Laaretz don’t harbor such animosity towards the frum there.
    Which makes sense.

I tried replying to gh on the news page but it didn’t go thru. over here he added a crucial point, in that the law is they have to follow protocol. Ben gvir said there’s no such law. I haven’t the foggiest clue who’s right but it is a legal question. even if he violated the law there’s a humongous difference between his actions and tishler’s. if he didn’t violate the law he did nothing wrong. and it speaks volumes of someone so arrogant that not being called with an honorific makes them call for security to oust him.

he only called Tibi a terrorist after, and there’s still no comparison to tishler.

2 in my experience the biggest impediments to moving to e”y isn’t so much the affluence but other comforts i.e. leaving family, set community, structure etc. and, of course, because Americans feel out of place there.

as I’ve mentioned like a couple hundred times already, the question of reparations comes after the assumption slavery is wrong. if you think slavery isn’t wrong, then call the emancipation proclamation woke-don’t start talking about reparations which is the next step.

can u post some substance? which of my assertions is incorrect? that ethics are based on an underlying philosophy? that a core philosophy can’t evolve over time? these are very simple questions that takes shorter to answer than to send me to college. (how conservative of you.)

I never studied ethics, nor do I plan on it. I hear tell ethics courses in college glorify perversion, a position that I’m certain a believing Christian like you doesn’t agree with. what I have posted is called logic. something you’re not very familiar with and something that, unfortunately, can’t be taught.
