Interesting place to make a wedding. Is it cheaper than standard wedding halls?

Not sure about the shidduchim aspect, but the day is important because in the last year in the midbar, that’s when they knew the gezeirah of everyone dying in the midbar because of the incident with the meraglim, was over

    Joseph,

While I’m not sure what the proper response is, your comparison is silly. There’s nothing inherent about the treif restaurant that allows them to sit together. They could just as easily sit together in a kosher restaurant with no compromises. Wheras they can’t sit together in a frum shul during davening.

    You answered your own question.

There’s less demand. Therefore they print less. Therefore they cost more to print. Therefore they need to change more to make the business work.

Are these same rabbonim also condemning schools that refuse to allow kids to attend whose parents haven’t paid tuition? After all, every Jewish child deserves a Jewish education. Or are poor kids more dangerous than unvaccinated kids and therefore they should be refused admittance?

“As a parent it should be my decision and my decision only whether or not I am willing to take the risks with the bodies of my children. After all, I brought them into the world and I am responsible for their wellbeing.”

And I am responsible for the well-being of my children. Therefore I choose to limit their exposure to dangerous things such as unvaccinated people. And that is MY right. And don’t you dare tell me that I must allow my children to be exposed to your unvaccinated children.

“Does he send down imperfect babies to the world”

Actually, yes. Then we improve upon the boys by giving them a bris milah. And then we teach them right from wrong as they grow older. And we generally try to improve our imperfect selves in the years we have on this earth.

All of us are born imperfect and all of us die imperfect. Our job is to 1. improve ourselves spiritually and 2. keep ourselves physically healthy so we can do #1 as long as possible.

If someone refuses to eat on yom kippur despite medical and/or rabbinic advice telling him to eat, and says that he has bitachon that Hashem will protect him is held responsible if death results. Not sure how this is much different.

    Parting shot…

If you want to claim that Hashem would not create imperfect babies, how do you explain the unfortunate incidences of children born with various degenerative or terminal illnesses?

    Joseph,

Your response to me is a strawman comment. You are concocting a ridiculous scenario of someone being fined $35,000 for blocking a driveway when we all know that is pretty much an impossibility. Blocking a driveway will result in a fine ($95 in NYC) and possibly the inconvenience of being towed and resulting tow charges.

Still waiting for the name of a Posek who says that calling 311 for blocking a driveway is considered mesira.
