I used to daven at a Chassidish shtieble in Baltimore. I would daven mincha and arvit at the regular time; as our minyan was leaving, the Rebbe and others would enter to daven mincha.

“True believers” would be going to Yerushalayim, not someplace in the middle of Jew hatred country.

Yeshivish is a subset of chareidi.

Seriously? You don’t want to add in anything about the cases where divorce IS recommended? Divorce is better than a husband beating a wife isn’t it? Divorce is better than a husband abusing his kids, isn’t it?

Are you living in la-la land?

“West Bank” means nothing. Refer to the areas by their proper names – Yehuda and the Shomron.

“I don’t like the heading. At all. Say what you want. Protest too. But no name calling a sitting president.”

    This.

    Exactly.

As a know-it-all teenager, I once said something disparaging about Jimmy Carter. My Dad z”l heard me, and he said, “You may disagree with the President, but he’s the President, and you always respect the office, even if you don’t like what he says.”

Are you a doctor? A scientist of some type? Then your opinion, in this case, means nothing.

“Based on that description of the danger I don’t see anything wrong with ten people standing ten feet away from each other and not touching anything.”
In Israel, at least, it’s now illegal.

“DRINK MORE HOT TEA AND WATER. AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 40 DEGREES, VIRUS CELLS DIE.”

Nobody reputable is saying anything like this. The virus is in the trachea and lungs, not in the esophagus. Unless you’re going to pour hot tea into your lungs, this does nothing. Google “drinking hot tea for covid-19” and you’ll see that this theory was debunked.

In honor of this debate, I went into our machsan yesterday and counted the bags:
    Freezer bags, small 4
    Freezer bags, large 3
    Regular sized grocery bags 18
    Net bags 1

All the freezer bags are from various places in the states, as are some of the grocery bags (mostly from Trader Joe’s).

“30 year ago this was normal.”

Ha! 30 years ago this August I went out with the young lady who became my wife. She lived in Flatbush. We went out, on our first date, to Bernstein’s. (I didn’t live in NY, and that was the only place I knew.) It was a Monday night, so the place was empty. Afterwards we went over to South Street Seaport and sat and talked until some early hour of the morning. We were married the following June, and still B”H married 29+ years.

The moral of the story: there’s nothing wrong with going to a restaurant on the first date.

“The Brisker R”Y said circumstances imposed by the Israeli government upon Bnei Torah living in Eretz Yisroel may compel us to move out to chutz l’aaretz to continue our Torah life.”

That would be impossible, as other civilized countries do not put up with rioting in the streets the way the Israeli government does.

“We once had an adom gadol for a sukkos yom tov meal, we had a bar-b-q going on a low flame, so we served hamburgers, hot dogs and bar-b-q wings. The adom gadol complained that it is not yom tov’dik.”

An adom gadol should have enough common sense not to complain about the food at a meal to which he was invited. And by the way, our minhag for last day of Pesach is to BBQ for the day seuda. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, wings, and kebobs. A nice time was had by all, and nobody complained that the food was not fit for a meal on chag.
