    I wasn’t here at the beginning of the “dialogue” that we’re having, but I think that the Strong Anti-Tzionists here don’t seem to understand that there is a difference between protesting Giyus as opposed to protesting the existence of the Medinah. I don’t see why that’s so hard to understand.

    And on a different note, I do believe that many people in the NK-leaning camp seem to not understand the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims in Islamic Empires, but the best way to MeKatzer the history is as follows: There was an era of Islamic history that the Muslims were more rationalistic with their Islam and thus not into the fanatical Islamism you see in Azzah and Syria today. The situation is relatively worse today for numerous reasons including the fact that Islamic society has been on the decline for quite some time. That’s what happens when all you do is express jealousy and envy of those who are more successful than you. The first murder was a result of jealousy, and we don’t protest with the Wild that express such jealousy.

    To draft people on the fact that they protested would challenge freedom of speech.

    Here’s a good idea: Find another city. We’re not in Poland anymore. Soon, we might not be in NYC anymore. Wanna learn in Monsey?

    For Jews who aren’t from NYC, many of us didn’t see much potential for growth. Even as a person who values Eretz Yisrael, I can see more potential in Monsey and Lakewood than NYC. And to be honest, I didn’t feel welcomed in most communities in NYC that I visited. So I’m not surprised that Hashem had to send a warning that there are issues with NYC. Some people were just to blind to see it.

    The personal opinions of Secular Jews (Secular Israelis and their foreign counterparts) will not change if a resolution on the draft changes. However, what would change is the increase in those who are connected to Judaism but not Very-Yeshivish (only learning) to have the opportunity to be involved in the world via being involved with the Tzahal. The issue is the fact that many people in the government aren’t pushing for compromise. The draft is basically left on the table without a resolution.

    Sociological categories from older generations don’t always apply to all people especially when Klal Yisrael has grown and now has all sorts of people including Career-oriented Yeshivish people…Thus, additional social groups can form. I happen to know some people who are very connected to Judaism who willingly joined the Tzahal. One of them is still learning. But there is no particular derekh that’s good for everyone.

    Many Anashim Tovim like to quote Satmar, but Satmar isn’t for everyone. In fact, I know of Satmar people that are now OTD that never joined the army. I also know a Rav Kook-type who was deeply fascinated by Satmar. However, Satmar people are the type to be closer with people of their exact background while of the Ashkenazi Jews I know aren’t like that. Many, of those that I know, married Sephardim. Satmar has a different hashkafah that affects what they prefer.

    I do agree that there’s a Supreme Court that doesn’t rule in favor of Judaism, but there are many Observant Jews in the army who want more of such units such as the “Haredi” unit. The issue is that no one is stepping forward with a resolution. And in terms of the future of warfare, Cybersecurity is something that the army should increase for obvious reasons. The Haredim in the army want more of such units, but the politics that’s on the upper eccholon of the Political Elite is not based on actually solving the issue. Yes, it’s the AG’s fault, but it’s also the PM’s fault. Bibi could do more if he wanted to. He could at least form a resolution that benefits the type that want to join even if it’s rejected.

    Are people forgetting something about militarism? All the guns would still exist! There are still plenty of Jews with guns, and another state would be formed. Would it be Jewish, not Jewish? Who knows? But for some reason, only a small number of Anti-Tzioni Yehudim are obsessed with this idea. Also, the chaos in Israeli society would lead to so many problems.

    @non Political
    A war is when 2 sides are against each other. It’s actually a one-sided attack of small number of self-identified “ḥaredim” who are self-righteous who think that we need to destroy the fact that a fair number of Right-Wing Modern-Orthodox Jews AKA Religious Zionists actually exist.

    @HaKatan

    Your arguments are in the category of “would have”. Should a Dayan look at every case of someone wanting to come to Eretz Yisrael? Well, that might not be a bad idea from the Charedi point of view.

    @ OP I ageee with you, and for the sake of Derekh Eretz, I will mention that millions of non-Jews would also be killed by the mere dismantling of Medinat Yisrael.
    The best hypothetical example is how many foreign armies would fight over who’d control Israel. It’d be like the Syrian Civil War which killed over 650,000 people none of whom were Jewish. And promoting mass death won’t bring the Mashiaḥ either…

    Hashem is above and beyond mankind.

    In our current era of history where we have many Baalei Teshuvah, we live in a time where there are those who are seeking Him. On October 7th, Amalek could have murdered more people. 6 million Jews didn’t die as a result of Hamas, but only 12 hundred. Hashem has been paying us back for the losses during the Holocaust. There’s Torah being learned all over the world including Eretz Yisrael which was an underpopulated swamp not too long ago.

    Hashem loves us! Hashem will bless those who bless us and curse those who curse us. Note how these Houthis who literally curse Israel as part of their motto are not the most successful country in the world.

    Why are we still obsessed with what Rabbanim thought in that era of history? Hashem didn’t put us on this Eretz in order to be beating up dead horses. Right now, we have specific issues to deal with, and we have living Rabbanim for that.

    The word “Tsholent” is a Yiddish word derivived from French: Chaud Lent.

    Chaud – Hot
    Lent – Slow

    So “Hamim” is accurate noun to describe it
    (assuming that “Chaud” is the noun with “Lent” as an adjective).

    I think the author was actually talking about those legally identified as “Israeli” which would include those who move to Israel by just having a Jewish father. That could be a fair number of people. I would be less concerned about the fact that there are these types of people in Israel so long as they were more honest about it and perhaps even have a system that identifies them as separate from people who are Halachically Jewish.

    Israel: More Women Than Men Refuse Gitten, Shattering Stereotype

    I may have not seen this thread when it was posted, but I was involved with a Beit Din case around this time. It turns out that the woman refused to show up in Beit Din and got her husband arrested. This PREVENTED him from giving a Get. Her motivation was that she hid a pregnancy from her husband and from the Beit Din. She gave birth to the kid before the session in Beit Din. She is the real Get refuser, but you don’t here the Feminists in ORA discussing such cases because it doesn’t fit with their Feminist agenda.
